Don't try getting the code from anyone.
I asked. Apparently, the codes people received will also be cancelled.

well considering this is just some random social media manager who probably doesn't know anything factual, and the fact that they can only get the nvidia codes cancelled - not the steam codes directly, nvidia would have to do that - there's not necessarily a guarantee here

Yes but I think it'll be safer and better if everyone holds onto their code for now or just activate it for themselves. I don't want to see a slew of "OHMEHGERD! I won Metro Last Light but today it was removed from my library!" or "Scammer! __ traded me a Nvidia code and it was removed from library!"

I'm honestly surprised there isn't a ton of Metro: Last Light giveaways. Have mods been removing them?

Yes, I read that, but it still doesn't stop thousands of users from making giveaways for exploited games. At least it never has before.

True, but my point still stands. When has there not been a sudden mass influx of giveaways when some game can be exploited? This is when games go for $1-2, let alone $0.01. It's usually the mods that step in to delete them all, but I've literally seen no Metro giveaways at all.

Mainly because people only got 1 key. They probably are weighing the opportunity costs. Use it for themselves, or give it away for CV, or put it up for trade.

I just ordered and it seems like mixed reactions... I hope I am lucky enough to get it !

Talks about class action lawsuits and reporting Best Buy to the BBB and Attorney General amuse me. They acknowledged that they'll only get 0.01 ea from the lawsuit but they just want to give Best Buy a large ass court bill. lolz

I doubt that'll hold in court but if it does, more money for me! :D

The giveaway by nVidia was legit and unless Best Buy has a list of everyone who tried to buy the game for a penny nVidia won't be able to tell the difference between those that got it legitimately and those that got it from Best Buy's screw up and the keys are distributed through nVidia using the claim code that Best Buy gave the purchaser so this list of people would have to come from Best Buy. I think that those that got it and already activated it will be safe.
I am a little concerned that I haven't been charged a penny yet by Best Buy though. Usually when I buy something from them it shows up in my bank account immediately and it's been a few hours.

Around Sylvester/New Year there was a pricing error on Gamers Gate for the "Bethesda New Year Pack" leaving it at $28.76.
The Pack included pretty much every Bethesda Game(Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Dishonored and many more)
Back then, 28,76$ was a fantastic Price for Skyrim or Dishonored alone, but the whole Pack? It was crazy.

At some point they fixed the Error and stated they are terribly sorry but they would have to give everyone their money back and reclaim the Keys that were already given out.
Then nothing happened for a few days until they finally gave everyone their money back, they never ended up taking the keys back though(not entirely sure why, it's possible for them to do, but they would have to go through Steam to do it, maybe it was to big of a hassle, or maybe they thought it would be the better marketing decision to just let it be).
Anyway, at the end everyone had as much money as before, and some lucky people got Bethesda games for free.
(It wasn't one Key for the whole Collection, and because of the high demand of Keys, only few people got every game, most got away with 3 or 4 i think)

You ARE entitled to the game you purchased. Sure, it was 1 cent. But people are still entitled to the game they purchased!

ToS basically says if they find out a pricing error, they can cancel/refund the orders and you can't do anything about it since by purchasing from them, you agreed to their ToS.

I understand, but you can understand people being upset. Best Buy should honor it. Hell, even when EA did this on accident they honored it.
