The olympics have started! And what better way to celebrate coming together than taking a train through the history of poster art from the Olympics. I've gathered up posters from all olympic events and offered my comments on them for a total of 52 stops and 88 images.

Do you want to make the train even more awesome? Leave factoids, personal opinions, challenge my critiques and above all, correct me if I've made any errors!

Take a ride on the olympic train!

Thanks for all the factoids, feedback and response. I'm slowly going through all your comments. First time I've "broken the meter":

I didn't enter any games but I loved the ride! I admittedly don't know much about the olympics so I learned a lot. I even forgot to look at most of the ga's because I was so interested in the posters :p

Bump for one of the most interesting trains around!
I was constantly forgetting to check the games, and I'm not even much into the Olympics :)

It was a better Olympics History than most newspapers and TVs would have done.

the only bad thing about olympics that Hungary never hosted one, its the only founder country which never hosted one and the only top10 summer olympic medal winner country which never hosted one (i bet this might be surprise some, that a not very rich country with less than 10m population actually so high on this ranking). We even got allready 1 gold medal today too:-) One more expected today!

But... Olympic nowadays more about politics and money than sport. Old traditional sports gets ignored and replaced because those are not popular in a few rich countries, even if it popular in a lot countries and for a huge amount of Earths population so they could replace it with a sport what loved only by the minority of humans in a few, rich countries.

There are just too much drugs, i imagine there are not a single american, russian and chinese who not cheating that way, their countries just look on this event as political propaganda and they spend a lot of money on medicines. And this now start to affect other countries:-(
