remove that link, technically you're calling the user out and that's against the rules

EDIT: nevermind, I'm wrong

Not actually. :P

Not really. He just referred to a win that you can clearly see in his steamgifts profile and he didn't say anything negative against him. ;P So, in conclusion, we need more specific rules. xD

sorry if i'm mistaken, i've just seen posts like this and the user has been ripped to shreds for putting in the username so I figured I'd warn him

I understand your intentions, hence why I said that we need more specific rules. ;P

the rules are specific: no calling out.
Stating that you screwed up doesn't involve calling out in any way shape or form

No, they are NOT! People misinterpret them, as you can see. "No calling out" is a really generic rule and it has many meanings.

Call out, definition:
To challenge or denounce; point out grievance or flaw; file charge against.

That's the definition being used here [as other usages of 'call out' utilize different context and phrasing cues, eg "She called out to the waiter."]
When you call someone out, that means you're challenging them, their character, or their actions.

That wasn't done here, so clearly calling out wasn't in effect. Since SG utilizes the no call-outs rule to protect against false accusations against its users, it should apply rather firmly to the typical interpretation of the phrase [and the site staff, as well as site interactions of that nature up to this point, have thus far indicated that is indeed the case].

No. Nothing about that is implying missacting on the part of the dev.

Click it again. :)

Some other things to keep in mind:

  1. The giveaway creator has 7 days to get you the game. (Don't pester them.) At that point you'll be able to mark Not Received, if necessary.
  2. You have to activate any win onto your own account. Failure to do that will cause you to get suspended, not to mention marked as a rulebreaker, which may cause you to be blocked from SGTools giveaways and blacklisted by users. If you already won/owned the game beforehand, you can just leave a message in the giveaway stating that you agree to a reroll, and staff will allow the GA creator to select a new winner. If the GA creator doesn't respond to your reroll request, make sure to either leave the giveaway unmarked [ie, don't select Received or Not Received] or marked as Not Received.

just click it again to un-mark it, and yes.. delete that user link, its technically calling out even though its calling them out for a good thing (gifting). nvm, that can't be right.. or we can't even talk about anyone in any form..

Sooo, you're afraid he may not send it? Just wait for him to send it. If he doesn't send it in 7 days, just click the option "not received".

It's fine, we all mostly use 'game' as a generic term here on SG. :)
