I'm sure practically everyone on this forum knows how to enter SGTools-protected giveaways, but in case there are some who don't, here's a small page with the required steps:

How to enter an SGTools-protected giveaway

Good luck!

Good idea. Now we just need an official tutorial how to create a SG Tools GA.

I'll do it if I find some free time. From my point of view, the more people use SGTools GAs, the better. Many GA winners I reported in the past for unactivated wins suddenly don't have them anymore. Want to guess what made them clean up their record? ;-)

I agree. Judging by my reroll requests at least a few of the winners I had to reroll for changed their game afterwards.

I've written one some time ago it's just not official so it might be a good idea to have other people who are familiar with the matter go over it to see if I forgot something important. Granted the site has become easier to use since I first tried it but judging by how often I've explained how to set up SG Tool GAs there's still demand for a tutorial.

Here's what I already had in case somebody would like to crosscheck it (in case I forgot something) or would like to use (parts of) it:

  1. You create the GA as usual (it has to be Invite Only)
  2. Then you go to SG Tools: Manage GAs enter the GA url in the field on top and click create.
  3. Next you can edit the GA filters. Although there are already sample values filled in all filters are inactive (greyed out) by default and only become active once you set a value. You can also create custom rules but we will adress those later
  4. When you have set all filters to your liking click Update. You will be redirected to Manage GAs. When you click on the GA to view Giveaway Details you get the url to share.

I don't see any inaccuracies. Looks good to me! :-)

BTW, I just added a request to have the redirect in #4 to the GA page instead of the Manage GAs page. I think it makes more sense.

Thanks :D Yea, that would make more sense and also reduce the risk of accidently sharing the wrong url.

Technically, you can try to use a leaked link, but I would advise against it.

Technically you can but if you do that too many times you'll be banned for 3K years.

How to check for non-activated o multiple wins could be useful too
(this is recommended -> https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/6fClz/userscript-links-on-profile-to-steamgifts-tools-real-cvnot-activated-gifts)

thats great , now if sg tools wouldn't flag my acc as having unactivated wins that would be cool

It doesn't flag your account for unactivated wins. It just cannot check your profile, because it's set as private.

no it's the API that doesn't recognize activated dlc. I tried it several times making my profile public and even then its saying unactivated wins.

That is because Steam itself has a problem with DLC. Not sgtool fault.

yeah i know its steam API that has problems handling the dlc but its SG tools that flags my account and thus preventing joining any giveaway with the rulecheck on activated wins

As far as I know any DLC detected as unactivated are not counted as unactivated wins, so even if you have them listed (typically collapsed) they shouldn't block you from entering SGTools protected GAs.

well i can tell you it does prevent one from entering.

Unfortunately since your account is currently private it's impossible to troubleshoot this, at least for me. Maybe knsys can help.

You probably need to let SGtools sync, which you can do (on the SGtools website) under Home->Synchronize

I think this was it because i could join Yirg's giveaway now. I did sync several times but always on steamgifts itself. Thanks

In addition to what Fnord suggested, can you also try to pass this filter:

I believe you should be able to.

BTW, with 1,337 achievements, you not only need to make this account public, you probably need to retire it lest you change this number ;-)

That's nicely done Yirg knowing that more and more SG users are using SGTools.

A very nice use of your own time! ^^

There are solutions for this BTW. Just ask konrads6 ;-)

I'm in the same position - stuck at 300P :)
Imo there should be a stat for disappearing points due to the cap :)
