Was this poll only made to allow people to vote "Potato"?
I know some people will disagree, but for me Lost is still the best tv show ever. and i like the ending a lot. I saw the whole thing 3 times already. ^^

My top three have already been mentioned a few times. Fringe and Sons of Anarchy were excellent from start to finish. My third is Battlestar Galactica, some people do not like the ending, but when I ask them to tell me what should happen they can't think of a better ending :)
Actually, make that four. Spartacus. Great series! Have to add that in because the final episode was excellent.

I thought Spartacus got a lot more inconsistent once they broke free, but as a whole, I thought it was worth watching until the end. I wish the original Spartacus actor hadn't died, as I preferred him in the role. Plus, his sudden illness made them to the next season as the prequel season to try and buy time for him to get better.

Yeah it was a shame Andy Whitfield died, he was perfect for the role of Spartacus. Liam McIntyre had a big role to walk into and it took a few episodes for him to settle in. It is always hard to replace a character and comparisons will be made, I think in the final series he done very well.

If you're interested in some old school sci-fi's, I would recommend Blake's 7. The ending is amazing.

Lost doesn't actually have that bad of an ending. It's a slight disappoint, but that's only because people wanted MORE from the show than it could actually give them (when a show is as good as Lost is/was, people expect the fucking sun to come down to Earth for the ending). If you actually watch the show, and appreciate the show, then the ending DOES conclude the story in a VERY deep and meaningful way.
A lot of the people getting pissed about Lost's ending are the same kind of people who boycott BioWare because of Mass Effect 3's ending (a disappointment, sure, but they consider it a disappointment for all the wrong reasons [half of their issues are fucking stupid as hell, and don't make any sense].

Jericho - Many people didn't like the ending (but I liked it well enough),
They tried to cancel the show without much of an ending, but viewers protested by sending 50,000 pounds of peanuts (in show joke) to CBS studio. They put out more episodes and there is an ending as well as an alternate ending. It's short, only 2 seasons about 28 episodes total. Available on Netflix. Lennie James (who plays Morgan in Walking Dead) is in it.
It is disappointing when they end show's without endings or bad endings. Unfair to the fans :( A lot of cancelled shows seem to maintain hope they'll get picked up by another studio and the show just gets left hanging.

Forever got cancelled before it's time but is tied up in such a nice sweet bow at the end that it doesn't matter that things didn't quite get to run their full course. Unlike other shows which violently get ripped out of their pattern once they realize they just have 3 more eps and they better give people the answers they've been seeking. Forever's ending just feels a bit sped up, like similar events were always meant to transpire at the end of the show or at least the end of a season or two into the future.
The backstory isn't the greatest but all the individual episodes are fun and it's well worth a watch. It's also probably the weakness of the backstory that ended up getting the show cancelled (plus it was in the same season as Arrow and Flash were so it was rather doomed if people only had time for one thing) as it didn't leave much to build on, rather than telltale pathetically weak episodes, as I feel all the eps remained high quality. Could also have been cancelled unmaintainable budget due to all the historic flashbacks.
At least I've had far more fun with it than any other show that was cancelled after just one season.
J.A.G, still one of the best shows ever made as far as I'm concerned, though I guess you have to like/be ok with the military (although even it was cancelled technically, but after 10 seasons and ample time to build towards that ending it doesn't matter).

First of all, though I understand how a bad ending can be a big bummer at the end of some series, I have to pinpoint that the journey is what matters the most and not the destination. In our subject, this means that even though I have watched some series with endings not so great, I still had a good time watching them.
I will make a comment about Dexter, since you mentioned it. The third season is maybe the worst one, but I recommend to give a try until the fourth season at least, which is my favorite.

Still rumors of a Dexter return. I keep planning to read the books, though i expect they are a lot different from the show.

Pillars of The Earth. Great book, great adaptation, and great ending. I actually liked the series' ending more than the book's.

Ok, these are anime, but every one of them had really powerful endings:
Death Note (watched from start to finish being astounded of suspense in every episode)
The Monster (Very brutal and the ending brought back the feeling of why You even watched the show in the first place)
Hellsing (A lot of gore and violence but with such intense dialogues and monologues You'll want to keep on watching)

I think the best show for you is Black Mirror, because that is different type of TV series. Here every episode have own plot and it always ends. You can watch random episode and you don't have to worry what will be next and what was before
Also True Detective, but it's not for everybody. It's filled with symbols and philisphical dialogs.
Fargo, based on quite famous movie, but in my opinion it was much better than movie. Whole season is closing story and every episode itself is really alluring and addicting :P
maybe I'll remind myself a few more titles worth to watch

I have to confess - I've never watched Lost. I remember, when it came out, that everybody was telling me to watch it and explaining how wonderful it is, but from what I heard it sounded like the writers are just making up mysteries as they go along with no plan on how to solve them. Several years later, I turned out to be correct as most people who used to tell me to watch it now said "Don't bother, the ending sucks".
I only watched two seasons of Dexter, and quit during the 3rd one because I felt it got repetitive. I was contemplating giving it another shot around the time it ended, but then I once again heard that the ending is a huge disappointment. The same thing happened with so many other series, that it almost feels like a standard now. Shows either get cancelled, or have an ending that makes you wish they were cancelled long before.
So, I was wondering what series you know of that actually had a worthy ending. Ones that got cancelled before their time don't count of course, as I am talking about shows that reached their natural ending without fucking it up.
Do you know of any?
I'll start with one -
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is one of the few shows I know that managed to end well (So well even that I immediately felt like rewatching it). Even though the finale moved away from the style of the previous seasons of being emotional and personal, and tried to be epic instead, and in some levels it didn't feel quite right, but I think it was the best possible way to end the show and it was done wonderfully.
Ok, I've talked enough. Your turn.
