thats because some people have it hidden as a game or maybe they own it.
with everyone now knowing about it the entries have shot up now.
as can be seen on a comment earlier by pietruszek they had the game hidden so they wouldnt of ever seen the train. so while it may seem pointless it is to let anyone know who would never see it in their groups that something is going on so they can have a chance to win

If he really cares about this, then he will have every single person from his whitelist as a steam friend and send personal message.
Or there is another way as well, same as i did in the past: leave a message to every person from your whitelist on one of their past giveaways with an invitation to the train.
All i see here is just unnecessary attempt to get attention for no proper reason.

okay i get where you are at. if you want anyone to blame though it has to be me. i suggested creating a thread to let people know it wasnt the best idea but it was the best we could think of at the time when such a small group isnt entering and no one from whitelist knows about it. this was never ment to be an attention seeker thread this was literally a nice person creating a train for everyone in the group and their whitelist. but i agree it couldve been thought out better like doing it in everyones old giveaways and it can be considered next time. for now we are stuck with it though and it was for the best at this current moment

This was the easiest, fastest way to reach all the people in my wl at once, without bothering them personally. You seem the be the only person that has a problem with it, with makes me think its not about the tread at all, but just another troll trying to get a reaction out of people by shitting on something nice they did for some people.
Why don't you take the energy it took to write up those posts and use it to do something nice/ positive for someone instead of trying to make someone feel bad? It's people like you whats wrong with the world, seeing the negative in things that are suppose to spread a little joy.

You said i only made this tread to get attention, if that was true i would of made a public train, i would of gotten way more attention then.
