What was your first anime?

Transformers Movie or Sora tobu yûreisen. I was too young to remember.

Like most kids in my country, Doraemon. It's insanely popular in the SEA region and is considered the typical kid's show, it has had many regular rerun too.

I'm pretty sure it was Star Blazers. Last time this topic came up it took me a while to remember it, but not only do I remember now, you also mentioned it. :)

I even bought Space Battleship Yamato (the new movie anime) on blu-ray, but of course haven't watched it. Too much content, too little time.

Never watched much TV as a kid. And Aussie TV is dodgy, so the earliest thing I saw broadcast was... Avatar, but let's not start that whole debate :P

First one I actually sat down and watched was Code Geass, I think. Maybe.

It was Prison School... That's hell of a title to start watching anime...

Probably Dragon Ball following shortly by Pokemon. Those two were on TV at the same time.

Probably Dragon Ball or Detective Conan. But my first anime that I actually knew was an "anime" was Attack On Titan:)

Probably Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime) when I was like 3 years old.

If we're not counting the Pokémon and Megaman dubs...Cardcaptor Sakura! It was the first anime I watched in Japanese (and the first one that hadn't been severely edited, since dubs for kids' shows weren't known for their accuracy back then.) I adored CCS. I used to trawl the internet for all the tiny individual fansites where people posted videos and fanfic, back when those were still a thing.

Can't remember exactly if it was Macross/Robotech or Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star, back in the late '80s. Both are my favorites though!

Either Heidi or Honeybee Hutch(or w.e it actually was called) as a kid. :D

Either Sailor Moon or Samurai Pizza Cats, I can't really recall which I saw first as a kid. The first anime I didn't watch on TV was Full Metal Panic, was truly hooked after that. Wracking my brain trying to remember what my first subbed anime was, but I can't recall.

If Robotech counts (I know it's an adaptation of Macross), than it was.

My parents are ultra strict, we can't watch any tv show that has fighting scenes in it. but I remember watching several old anime that was on tv every morning. can't remember the first I've watched but when I became aware, Tico of the Seven Seas and Cedie are the ones that I know by title.
EDIT: Okay, I don't know the title but the first anime that I have probably watched as a kid is about a girl who has an adoptive father, but died from an illness and I believe she became homeless, then she met this middle-aged dude that takes children and forces them to do labor or begging, anything that earns money. she and the other kids gets beaten if they don't earn enough. can anyone remind me of the title please?

The first anime that I watched on tv were Dragonball Z and Pokemon. Other than the ones that I watched on tv, my first anime was Psycho Pass.

Dragon Ball, I remember I used to watch it on tv in romanian and it was dubbed so badly that you could still hear in the background the original japanese voice actors and the english ones too. And on top of that, the romanian dub was done just by one middle aged guy, he was doing the female characters too.

Shaman King, but i didnt know this was anime.
My first legit encounter with anime was when i watched Tsubasa Chronicle.

Digimon Adventure on local TV. Instead of dub, we were fortunate to watch Digimon Adventure and Dragon Ball with original japanese audio and subtitles in our native language.
