Really glad I got the game for free.
Its interesting but very unpolished and definitely not worth the asking price.

These cards don't really look to be selling. Lowest sell price already dropping too from what it was half an hour ago. I think people bought a few up expecting to make a profit and people like me began to idle for the cards, putting more on the market.

Exactly. Speculative bubble at work. The game can still be bought and redeemed as far as I know (just not on Steam), so they can't really shoot up in value by too much.

Some of the cards have had multiple sales over .70 cents and even $1 while some are still sitting lower at .20 for the last sale.
The fact that there won't be new cards appearing means it's pretty much inevitable that the prices will increase, but expecting .10 cents to $10 in minutes is a bit greedy.

Got mine too, but what I'm wondering about is for how long they'll continue to drop for future activations and if/when they don't will we still be able to sell the cards that have already dropped or might they be removed from the market altogether.
The statement said that they're ceasing relations. Devs do a get a cut of card sales normally.

That is where my confusion comes in. The fact that the cards use artwork from the developer and they get a cut makes it difficult to guess which way it will go.
I've been trying to think of other games that have been removed recently, but I can't think of any that also had cards.

Now I am actually quite glad I gave that away mid-August after sitting on it for a few months since it was last in a HB.
Wow....those tweets though. I knew he was a douche from the reviews of the game (that's why I never redeemed it myself), but that just takes it to a whole new level of stupid on top of being a douche. Just....wow..... WTF did he think would happen if he started running his mouth like that? That guy seems to have a career suicide wish. Needs some sort of anger management classes too or at least some sort of commonsense filter added to his thinking process, so he drops that verbal diarrhea.

This dev is already known for blaming his own users and insulting the people in the forums...
I have to admit that I received an e-mail response from him regarding lets plays I wanted to make for commercial use on my youtube channel. He said ofc that is no problem for him and he doesnt want anything from me, all in all very friendly.
PS: I was about to the tweet the same when I opended CS:GO Chests for 80€ and got the value of 3€ out of it. Damn Gabe....That time u rekt me hard...
PS2: Prices for cards are currently ROCKETING upwards.

Guy got what was coming to him. He's lucky if the authorities don't pay him a visit.

So if he just waited for 10-15 minutes instead....

Or better yet, used a non-public or alternate account for associating with his business. People forget how 'borders' work on the internet, and what information is public to a degree that it's like holding a conversation on crowded public transport.

Welp. guy has issues and just screwed himself out of a career. way to go.

Welp. As much as I want to hate the game, I got to say it was pretty okay. It got all the elements right. The game just lacking the final finishing touch - more sfx and better soundtrack.

Sold my three cards for ~$3 total. Looks like they're dropping like rocks now as expected.

It wasn't linked over to Gabe directly, it was a rant to himself. Unprofessional to talk about a peer like that? Hell yes. Was it an actual death threat? Uhm... no? When somebody grouches to themselves about a colleague having done something that has caused them problems, saying "Urgh, I'm going to kill them!", that's not a death threat.
While I've heard they were known for not marking their tone well in other little dramas, I can empathise a little, in that some people avoid early access games like the plague. While it probably didn't amount to much in lost sales, it still potentially cost him a few. Sure, really not worth having a tantrum over, especially not in a publicly visible social media account that is likely followed by detractors and fans alike. Your own social media accounts are your own space. People need to vent sometimes, whether or not they're being childish. It was going to burn bridges and harm their reputation anyway, slapping on this bullshit about death threats is a little ludicrous though. I mean, isn't part of a death threat actually making sure the target gets the threat, and that they believe you actually intend to carry it out?

well, there is a difference between mumbling "I'll kill them all"... in your cubicle in an empty office (or better yet - in your own kitchen completely alone) - and going in the main city square and yelling on the top of your lungs "I'll !@#$#% KILL that @#%$% !#$#@! guy!"
In second instance you will be tackled by closest police officer faster than echo dies in streets - and you will have a lot of fun explaining to detectives that it wasn't serious. I'm not even starting on shitstorm in the media... Pretty much what we see here, yes.
Yes, people need to vent; yes, we all have moods and moments we aren't proud of afterwards. But if you treat Internet like your own private jornal - expect to be burned. Even private emails can be made public, same with Skype logs. And who really think by now that FB and Twitter are private in any way? Time to grow up, if someone does.
I personally don't have any sympathy for likes of Mr. Fish, and that guy makes him look like an innocent baby in comparison, so good riddance. The only thing that makes me sad - now I will never get lvl 5 badge on that one, and sure not a foil badge. T.T

I hope we can - but I just simply can't afford buying enough cards for that at current prices... And since there would be no more new ones - prices will not get down, especially for foils... Should have grabbed them while they were cheap, but who knew...

Yeah, I don't exactly think it was a a credible threat either.
Still, he was mouthing off about them in public and that's never going to go down well. I have little sympathy for him. Even calling them out as an "incompetent piece of fucking shit" and referring to them as "fucking Steam" in public is enough to justify canning his game. I know that would get me fired from most if not all jobs I've had or signal an end to any business meetings I've had if said in person, let alone if I was saying it to a wider audience, publicly slating the company I was working for or with.

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't fault them on this side of things (especially given he had apparently been rude to customers in the steam discussion forums before, too), the only thing I'm really opposing is the focus on the "death threat" which is a bit of a stretch and a red herring, is all.

Initially it was hard to see if he is serious or not, the way he seemed to rage most of the time at all kinds of things and how he then flipped out prior to the threat I wouldn't have been sure about him either. I'm glad Valve reacted the way they did and I hope they don't take their decision back, since this guy definitely has some issues to work out. He's probably the type that insults or censors his customers, too.
