Weren't these guys being dicks about Steam keys for bundle buyers at one stage?
Pre-pubescent drama queen/poor man's Phil Fish.

I see your point fully and I do agree to an extent, but this guy's attitude and reaction towards a simple mistake was entirely too much. It came across to me like he was a big fucking baby.
I dont blame Valve for not wanting to go further with him. IMO it was the right call.

What an idiot.
Really is there anything else to say? I dont think what he said was a legit "death threat", but his whole tirade about something small that was going to be fixed sooner rather than later if the Neogaf post linked in this thread is correct makes him not worth Valve's time. Fuck him and his stupid game. The way he was acting about this went beyond anything even remotely considered professional.
Use your Twitter as a marketing tool and you fuck up with it, this is the type of price that can be paid. I have absolutely no sympathy for this moron.

Seriously the internet-crusade-against-badthink-websites is played out. Nobody cares which gaming news sites you like or dislike.
But here, have a link to Rock Paper Shotgun while I'm at it. You can get your gaming news there instead!

Eh kind of a power play by valve. Not trying to say he didn't deserve it though.

that was the most fucking retarded reason to remove his game. why do people take such death threats so seriously? FFS twitter is a fucking troll site.

Not as "retarded" as making a death threat in the first place.
It was childish in the extreme, and good on Valve for giving the errant dev a well earned spanking...

Putting your game on Steam is a business arrangement.
Publicly threatening to murder someone you have a business arrangement with is usually considered poor form, and it's not particularly surprising to see them suddenly deciding they don't want to sell your wares anymore. Generally, when you have to tell someone you're working with that you didn't really mean it when you said you intended to kill them, you've already screwed up.

yeah, because Valve wants the other devs to follow the culture of "venting and ranting and threatening in social media for every valve mistake and hopefully it'll fix the problem"
He's being made an example of, but to suggest to leave it without consequences is just bad move on Valve, essentially encouraging such behavior.

Whether serious or not, it's still a death threat. You simply don't say such things in a public space, period.

well deserved. death threats aren't even remotely funny.

What a retarded way to end your game dev 'career'. Is there a game dev Darwin's award? I'd nominate him.

I think CyberDruid is referring to the Darwin Award, which is awarded to "individuals who have supposedly contributed to human evolution by self-selecting themselves out of the gene pool via death or sterilization by their own actions".

Well... don't threaten the man selling your game is the lesson here.
Well, it'll be another interesting game to collect.
