I'm ready for some price errors. ^_^ I want everyone ready because we must not lose them, if there will be any. :P Awesome thread. :D

Usually it is pretty obvious that the game would never be that low of a price. When it doubt just compare it to its lowest price here

A price error is when a game is discounted for more than Valve intended. You can use the link the OP kindly provided to help you spot them.

Ori and the Blind Forest was $5 for 2 hours. Some people refunded the game from the sale that was 50% off I believe, just to have the price restored before the refunds went through.

I've never ever managed to snatch any game while there was a price glitch, so let's see if this year will be any different :D

Usually such glitches occur in India, RU/CIS or Asia regions so perhaps you may add sections preventively.
Also, it would be neat if users from these regions could offer their help here purchasing copies for those who can't get it themselves (no more than 1 to avoid harassing and resellers) as certain people sometimes activate games with Vigorous Pony Nausea.

That's a valid point, I agree. Wonder if there'll be any BUNDLE discount glitches given Valve added such pack option recently.

There was one with Borderlands Pre Sequel already when you could get the game for about 10% of regular value in case you have all DLCs. No idea if it was an intentional bug though, perhaps there were just too many titles in the pack while each gave an additional 10%. And still, main game was already discounted being in the pack.

Seems there weren't many glitches last year in general, sigh.

there were plaenty last year, last sale (winter) not anymore, steam started to take steps to avoid most of price errors. at end of last summer sale they would delay each day start by 10 minutes to make sure no more glitches happens. at first days there were a lot of errors, then last days none thanks to that. And last winter they didn't have daily sales just one sale for whole event, so they just had to make sure there were no glitches on start and then there would be none for whole sale.

Yes, for sure. Check out the previous thread linked above. I picked up 6 Dishonored GOTY in one sale for about $1.91 each and traded each for 6 keys.

I came here to say "Aww shucks, I had the price error thread last summer sale" then realized I'm busy all the time now, so glad it's been passed on. You now wield a great and mighty power; use it wisely.
P.S.: Highly recommended for everyone to use that first link posted above to search all games by price, as previous sales have hidden it. The low-priced games will pop up on it.
P.P.S.: I suspect that the Steam Store complete-the-bundle pages may be glitched out, and since they already offer great discounts, I'd recommend checking out this tragically underappreciated thread and checking in on all the bundles that have been sorted. May consider adding it to the main info here. Good luck to all fellow bargain hunters.

You know what's really sad? The glitches you listed last year don't look like glitches to me, just good sale prices.
If those are glitches, then I've been too spoiled by bundles.

I was too, but I count it as a glitch if it either posts as an obvious doubly-discounted title (odd percentages such as 91%, 82%) or if it shot up to a larger-than-normal discount that was spotted by The Man and hammered back down. Everything else is just a normal sale price, which is what a lot of people were posting in that thread.

I will be adding the title and discounts as a list in the discussion and will try to bump the thread right before each deal change but I don't think I will be hanging the title. Usually multiple happen and it is chaos so continuously editing the title may be confusing to some

I'm not sure if they even have deal "changes" anymore. Kind of ruined the last winter sale for me, but they posted better profits, so other people have different ideas.

Me and some friends run this group where we make announcements when price glitches happen.
You are all welcome to join and contribute if you find price glitches:

I would suggest having more moderators. The point of this group is to have maximum coverage of pricing errors, so 5 users doesn't seem like quite enough. :P

Thanks for your suggestion, anyone can report deals, there is thread for that, and as we the admins live in different regions most of the times there is someone online to create the announcement. We'll add someone else if needed though.

Sooo... Off-topic, buuuut... When does the sale actually start? I know it's today, but wheeeen? :3

Deponia, Chaos on Deponia and Goodbye Deponia will magically cost 159.9€ but they will be 90% off so it's "only" 15.99€. Not sure if it's a glitch or a really scumbaggy marketing tactic, since I've seen it happen on several previous Steam sales.

Don't know if I should stay up (it's 11pm here right now), I need to wake up early tomorrow. Hmm

KK, I shall do that. (Afraid I might miss the price glitches though, even though when I stayed up previous years I still don't see them)
Thanks

Hey, Singapore! I live in KL and have made the trip down there 3 times this year. May have to go next week too.

The only price glitches I've seen were for Counter Strike complete and Ori and the Blind Forest. CS was for about $5 then they changed it to I think $10. Ori went on sale for $5 for about an hour then went back to its normal price.

A thread for any pricing errors or glitches in the summer sale! Generally, check prices right as the previous batch of games on sale rolls over to a fresh batch, as this is when errors are most likely to occur. They usually last for mere minutes, so snatch them up * if you see one!
This list does NOT include negative prices, as those are always made nonpurchaseable in your cart.
Just to help everyone find glitches more efficiently:
Here is a link to the Steam page with ALL games sorted by price: List of all Steam games and current prices!
To help to decide if it is a price error or not, use this link to see the historical price information
Keep you eye on the bundles in this thread. The new bundling style may cause more errors this sale.
Glitches spotted so far:
Have you seen any others? Comment here!
Credit goes to AKQJ10Please, i just copied their thread from last year
Also feel free to join the price glitch group for live announcements
