I have recently perched games that are then put on exploited list and noticed you get no contributor value at all even thought you still have to pay for the games I wouldn't mind then repricing the items but to get nothing for something you must pay for is unfair and disloyal to people creating the giveaways I have 2 copies of take on helicopters bundle on give away that cost me £1.59 and today there on the exploited list so even thought I've spent over £3 which is nearly $5 I will get nothing for my contributor value so this will be my last giveaway as I am not spending my money to participate in something that does not care about being fair to its users

I will not delete my giveaway as that would not be fair to those that have entered and wish all that have good luck

This post is about exploited titles only not about bundles.
For the record I have been a member of this site 2 months have giveaway 23 games and 3 DLC have $105.53 CV and have won 4 games and made 5 new friends so I feel this site is a very good idea I just feel the exploited games need a new policy this is my thoughts and I just wanted to see what other people feel about it

It's unfair for others when people exploit game prices drops. This is the fairest way.
I think after hundreds of forum posts about this people have realised there is no perfect solution and this is the best.
The easiest rule of thumb to follow is if it's 90% off or plus it'll most likely be added to the exploited/bundle list.

It's not like CV was made with being "fair" in mind. If it were, Russians wouldn't get 2, 3 times more CV then what they paid, Europe wouldn't get around 0.8 of what they paid and Australia wouldn't get even down to 0.5 of what they paid...

Anything that is 90% off / part of humble bundle will be put on that list I believe, it's pretty simple just buy something that doesn't have those criteria.

I understand the thing with bundles as they are usually a dollar for multiple games but if I spend $5 on games I would like my contributor value to show this I'm not asking for the full value just what there now worth as I am spending money on them. I have posted a few bundle games on this site and don't care I got nothing on my contributor value for them

I think it would be too hard/impossible to implement the system you're talking about. What if you buy a game that's 90% off from a non-steam site, such as GMG.com, there is no way for SG to know what price you paid for it, and even if you bought it off Steam dynamic pricing such as sales would be too hard as steamgifts would have to always be getting the pricing info from Steam.

Take on Helicopters has been on the bundle list since the Humble Bohemia Interactive Weekly on Jan 16th so it was there long before you decided to give it away and Orion: Dino Horde and Takedown: Red Sabre were both added as exploited because their discount went either above 95% in Russia which made them perfect for getting some CV for almost nothing or in the case of Takedown: Red Sabre each copy also spawned another one with the four pack spawning another 4 on top of the initial 4 which made the discount for each copy also go above 95%.

Again I bought 2 copies of the full bundle that cost $2.66 each so that's over $5 and I get nothing so why should I post it plus they stay on the exploited list after the sale so given time nearly all games will be on this list

How can we know you actually did it? How do we know you didn't exploit it and you are just lying? That's the case... SG CAN'T be sure...

Not sure why the Take On Helicopters Bundle is listed as bundled though. On the list they've included it with the Bohemia Interactive Humble Weekly when that wasn't what Humble were selling I don't think.

My copy from Humble lists Take on Helcopters: Rearmed and Take on Helicopters: Noisecontrollers in it's DLC's. The Take on Helicopters Bundle currently on sale from the Steam store has Take on Helicopters: Hinds.

It's not greater than 95% off (Russian or Brazilian Steam Store vs US base price) as far as I can tell either. 93.8% and 91.4% respectively.

Doesn't look like it should be on the list.

This of course says nothing of the merits of the exploited games list/bundle list, that's a different argument altogether.

likely people are dumpling humble bundle keys, and maybe w/o even tossing in a hinds dlc which was just on 90% sale.

Not talking about bundle games I think the policy on them is fair it's exploited titles I'm on about

Yes, but the specific version of your giveaway game isn't on the exploited list. It looks like it was (possibly incorrectly) included in the bundle list from the Humble Weekly sale.

No it's 90% off but my thought is I payed £3.18 ($5.32) For 2 copies but will receive no CV because it's on that list. This is what I feel is unfair

What's 90% got to do with it?

The figure for games to go on the exploited list is >95% off compared to base-price (non-sale price) in the US Steam store.

When a game goes 90% off on Steam it often does go over that limit if bought from Russia or Brazil, but not always. Depends what they were originally selling it for in those regions.

Edit: Here's the bundle/exploited list. As you can see (if you hit Ctrl+f and search for helicopters) they just lumped it in with the Humble Bundle. No mention of exploits.

You're right about Take on Helicopters UraniumFalconPunch but I think that was just done to prevent exploiting of a Humble + Sale combo and giveaways of the wrong game. Takedown: Red Sabre was never over 95%, but because you got two copies for the price of one it had the same effect and was, in some way, an over 95% discount. As far as Orion: Dino Horde goes, I don't know why it's on there specificly, I assumed it to be because it had a higher discount in Russian regions or maybe in Brazil but if that's not the case it could have been placed there either because of the incredible amount of giveaways it generated which allmost felt as abuse (which, in this case, it technically would not be as Uranium's informations is correct) or because of a mistake on the part of support in which case you can create a ticket to report this situation

ORION: Dino Horde was about 2 usd for the 4-pack if bought in Brazil, this is what put it in the bundle list.

Yeah, I bought a 4 pack of Takedown and got 8, lol. I think the price per copy of the 4 pack would have been enough to put it on the list by itself. The single price wouldn't have been (if not taking into account it was 2 for 1) but 4 packs are always buy 3, get 1 free and that combined with the 90% off it did it in the Russian store. Then when you actually got 8 it made it even more certain it was going to go on the list.

Orion I believe was on the list because of it's Brazilian price. Russia was ok with that one. Link from the SG thread on the sale.

Anyway, I think I've bored myself to death prattling on about this topic, I'm out. :)

It happens. We have to deal with it. I bought 3 copies of Guilty Gear: Isuka for 10 euro on gamersgate, gave away 2 and i lost my cv after a week. Didn't know but that game was bundled 4 months before my giveaway and was listed week after my ga ended. Everyone can make mistakes and we have to deal with it and shouldn't be mad. People did like my contribution. So I started to spend money and give games away rather then buying for myself or for the CV.

I don't really care about my CV I just think the policy on exploited titles needs looking at. I just feel it's unfair that it put in with the bundles that may cost $1 for multiple titles as you pay per title on exploited games

The simple reason for that to happen is that you do receive full amount of bundles to a certain degree, but you can never got over a CV of $30 giving only bundle games. They just count for 20% of your total CV afterwards

Tell us more about your problem.
You are free to spent on bundle games whatever amount of money you like. You can buy bundles at 59.99$, but what is important, that you caould potentially find it cheaper, and if it is the case, then restriction for all users applies to make sure that nobody will cheat with his CV.

No problem with bundle games policy. Exploited titles policy is problem as these have set price so should be valued on that principle and not as bundle

One solution could be to assess the Bundlers games by 5% for CV.
You make SG games bundles priced at $100 and get 5 in the CV.
Sorry for the English.

I agree, it's unfair. You still have to pay for those. I don't mind the CV being reduced by 95% for all bundle games, it'd be way fairer. Heck, at the very least BTA games should be credited.

With bundles, your CV stops going up when you hit 30$.

This is only true if you only give games from the bundle list. If you give games that are not on the bundle list, you will get more CV from your bundle games (20 % of your non-bundle CV).

If you want to be taken seriously then offer a suggestion on how they can possibly do what you are asking because I can see no feasibly way for them to check every single giveaway for what it is(key or gift), how much people paid for it and so on.

Not this hoary old thread again.

There are a gazillion threads containing the same tired old arguments. For the record, and with reference to all the boring old points contained in said threads:

NO! Your point has no merit.

If you want to get more than $30 of CV, stop giving away games that cost next to nothing. It's really not that hard to see why the current system exists, and how your idea could be exploited to the detriment of the site.

Take on helicopters was in a bundle (Humble Weekly - Bohemia Interactive), its not in the list because price exploit...just fyi
Inform yourself before buying games. You bought the games when they were already on the list
Inform yourself about the CV system. You don't get nothing. Start making some real giveaways, not always bundle games and exploitables
Stop caring about CV, don't try to farm it, it is not worth it anyway, the money needed to get some real advantage easiyl can buy you the games you want
Stop bitching, you won't be missed
