To specify that if the eventual winner has not said thanks in the comments, the gift will be reraffled. Would that be allowed?

Yes but you need to get approval from support first.

Yeah, except "I think so" is a perfect example of why your request to be in Support was denied. You "think" so. You don't know the rules surrounding giveaway conditions.

Lol, with such a reply, I personally highly doubt that.

The best you'll get probably will be a dunce cap edited onto your avatar on your profile page, just for you, and a complimentary "Special kids' sheriff" badge with no actual powers

And that's not going to happen, anyway. So..

Generally not really on a public giveaway unless specifically approved by support, which I doubt they will do for something as that.

It needs approval from Support, and it can't be a public giveaway, since they don't allow special rules for public or large groups.

And mine. I saw him mention it in another thread too. Current support should make it his birthday present!

Honestly, I don't even know what's going on with the situation. To my knowledge, all of support has given their unanimous yes vote towards certain people (along with a few unanimous "Oh, god, please, never ever let them in" votes to others), but nothing's been done. I think cg's waiting on the site upgrades to come before doing it, but we're also pretty unanimous that chronic and Shobo should be bumped up immediately. It's a little frustrating, for users and support and at least a few of us who are left are starting to feel the burn out. I haven't touched a ticket that hasn't been directly to do with me in nearly two weeks now.

I know I didn't get the "Oh, god, please, never ever let them in" treatment. Not unanimously anyway. You supported my candidacy, right, jade? Right?

Yes, but think of all the girls that would be all over you if they knew you were Steamgifts Support. I mean, that's why I want in.

Yup, only by support approval. But I think this rule is nonsense 'cause this isn't real "thank you", but thanks forced by rules, so it isn't worth anything.

You are no doubt asking because the public giveaways you won in the past you didn't post a useless "Thanks" comment....

what about talking with the winners by steam chat first ? They will probably say thank you then, or by email, its much more personal.

I have that rule in place on all group and private giveaways

So yes

Permalink

In public and public group giveaways, no it is not allowed.
In private and invite-only group giveaways, it is allowed provided that the creator already had asked for usage and is granted.

Pages of 'thanks!' are a waste of perfectly usable bytes.

Pfft, I'm tempted to install the userscript that automates 'Thanks!' if folks are going to start withholding games from non-spammers.

Eww, that is nasty crap.

Besides, nothing wrong with saying thanks in the smaller giveaways. I just don't care about reading all of it myself, nor will I post in most giveaways unless they want more interesting comments.

I do both. If the description asks a question or has a request I'll follow it; otherwise I'll just leave a "Thank You!" :)

It will be allowed for a private giveaway, AFTER consulting with support and approval by support
