I'm just curious because I never understood or knew why.

To give back to people that have contributed giveaways themselves. Originally...
Now it's mostly just because people are paranoid.
I'd love to see how many people have actually had issues with bots winning their giveaways.
In my mind the site exists to give to those who can't get things themselves, one of the reasons I joined it.
The only money I ever got throughout my life was from birthday gifts, and Christmas gifts.
When I saw this site I decided to check it out, I got lucky a few times and was fortunate enough to win a few games.
Once I'm actually out of college and have a job of my own I might actually give back at some point.
Though at the same time, I'd kinda rather not be in debt the rest of my life.

As I understand that you have limited familiarity with the topic yourself, I assure you that when you put the concept of making public giveaways into actual practice, you'll find that results are just as negative as forum hearsay suggests. My public giveaways have been overwhelmingly negative, and low level public giveaways have been nearly nothing but- even in the few situations where rule-breaking and auto-joining and bot use and multi-accounting wasn't absolutely certain, many of the remaining winners ended up admitting or even bragging about such things regardless. The sole reason I didn't leave the site early on was due to the ability to do group giveaways and later, due to SGTools being introduced. Likewise, the sole reason I continued doing occasional public giveaways was due to the ability to add level restrictions to such giveaways (to minimize risk of issues occuring).

The only money I ever got throughout my life was from birthday gifts, and Christmas gifts.

Many of us don't even get that. While your perspective on the site isn't exactly wrong, your accusations of paranoia and your seeming outlook of "well, I may give back one day but I don't really want to, even though it's really cheap and easy to give away a few bundle games" don't color that perspective in a very positive way.

Hopefully, once you have a job and learn to appreciate the demands involved with obtaining and managing money, you'll be able to present a more appreciative consideration toward the site. That is to say, the site doesn't exist to give things to those who can't get such themselves. It exists because people are willing to give things away to those who can't get such things themselves. The nuance may seem slight but, in actuality, it's a fairly major distinction.

I disagree with some aspects of your reply, especially as it relates to assumptions about my character.

I guess people feel scammed when their GA are being sold and traded. Also it's not convenient when bots take forever to mark as received. It was supposed to bee a free service but it's not because of subjectivity and personal factor.

levels are there to have certain people join your giveaways..

Like level 1 are the bare minimum of 1 giveaway.. Level 10 would be giving a chance to the people who are always giving stuff away..

Most of the time the higher the level of your giveaway, the more likely It'll go to someone who will follow the site rules.. 0 - 1 level giveaways are riddled with shady winners.. but meh, for me personally if I'm giving away bundled stuff it's going 0 - 1, if I buy a gift it would probably be 5+..
