Payday 2 returns from the dead

It's their only game that actually makes money... So back to farming DLC...

Not cool at all to break the promise of free content for ultimate edition users.

I just uninstalled it yesterday. Kinda scummy to keep releasing paid content when it wasn't the initial plan.

I understand that they need money to stay afloat... But releasing DLC after creating ultimate edition for the sole reason of not having bunch of expensive DLCs seems going against what they said initially and I dont really appreciate something like that

I like the game and maybe will play it again, but I highly doubt Im buying a DLC from them.

After the flop that RAID was and the massive fuck up that was their Walking Dead game, it's no surprise they were doing poorly. But I don't think this is really gonna help them along. Payday 2 is 6 years old at this point and they're going back on their promise of not releasing any more paid content... I guess they can't afford to actually make Payday 3 but more DLC for PD2 is surely not gonna make them enough bank for it either.

I know they "broke a promise", but the alternative is that they don't produce any more updates (which is what had been happening)
Let's see what happens. They've got a good game, and there are plenty of players who don't mind paying a few bucks for new heists. I never understood people paying just for weapons packs, and barely for new characters, but, to each their own. As long as the price for the new stuff stays low enough, it'll sell. and if that keeps up support for Payday 2, I'm all for it, because it really is a fun game to load up from time to time. especially if you can somehow cobble together a crew that's good at stealth

Man I wasn't happy with the latest "balance" updates so I'm not very excited at the moment. This used to be my favourite game, I played 600+ hours and I don't like multiplayer games. I hope the new content is actually good and I may return to it, I haven't uninstalled it yet.

So, does that mean that this company will finally bite the dust in the foreseeable future?

To be honest I'm not too happy about this. I would be happy for the new content but I feel like I paid enough for this game, and I guess those who bought the game and its DLCs before the Ultimate Edition came out agree on this. Also, this feels like it's just about making some quick dosh before PD3 comes out (most probably on Epic) so I'm expecting a lot of low quality DLCs (but I could be wrong).
They made some promises back then about things like "melee rework" or "Infamy 3.0", but since they decided to stop the development nothing came out of these. Wonder if they intend to implement these or nah, since they wouldn't bring in extra cash.

Anyway, I'll wait a bit what comes out of this.
(And about their failed games... I'm not happy they flopped since it created this situation. On the other hand, F starbreeze.)
