If I loved Skyrim , Would I love Oblivion as well?

I played Oblivion for 400+ when I had it for the X360 and I didn't even had the expansion pack (Shivering Isles)for it nor the DLC's.
I played Skyrim for 100+ and got tired of it, and I don't even care about getting the DLC's, I don't know why, I still like it tho, I mean, 100+ hours is a lot of time. O:

Oblivion is in many ways better than Skyrim, just like Morrowind is in many ways better than Oblivion. There are however certain things that improve from game to game. Skyrim's voiceacting might be bad when compared to many other games, but compared to Oblivion it's amazing. Same goes for the faces of NPCs, even if that can be sorted with the abundance of graphical mods for the game (you can make it look better than vanilla-Skyrim). And ofcourse, the lack of endless Oblivion gates was nice.

That said, I've spent over 1000h in Oblivion and I still play it from time to time, there's such an insane amount of incredible mods for the game that there's nothing you can't find if you look for it, including several questlines that beat the mainquest out of the water. It was an okayish game at release and still is with the expansion (best part of the official stuff) and some of the DLCs, with mods it's amazing.

Oblivion beats Skyrim

I wasn't a fan of Oblivion but I loved Skyrim. To be fair, the first hour of Oblivion is horrible and boring as hell. The rest of the game does pick up and plays similarly.

No. Oblivion is half-assed in comparison.

The spell system is awful. It's set-up in such a way to let you "customize" your spells. Except you only have three options: Self, throw ball of light, and touch. That's it. Playing a mage in that game is an exercise in boredom.

You'd probably get more enjoyment out of Morrowind.

i played Morrowind and Oblivion first, so i already loved them before going into Skyrim. i'd recommend playing Oblivion and Morrowind as well, they're great in their own right.

Since Oblivion is in the Imperial Province the game plays more like a generic RPG. The landscape is very systematic and you will most likely find yourself in cities most of the time. The gameplay is slightly more complex since your have more skills to level, I guess. But you'll definitely love it, since the modding community have been around a little while longer. I'd also suggest you to check out an awesome mod valled Nehrim, these guys created a complete new game.

While both Oblivion and Skyrim are just dumbed down from Morrowind, I still enjoyed them both. I preferred Oblivion just because I felt like it had more dialogue choices, better cities and better music (music is very subjective, and I know many people liked Skyrim's soundtrack better). Combat-wise Skyrim was much better.

Morrowind is the best of Elder scrolls series, imho. Oblivion is better than Skyrim.
For the graphics, u can use Skywind o Skyblivion, which transports the Oblivion game in Skyrim engine =)

All the elder scroll games are quite unique. Quite possibly if you enjoyed one of them, you'll enjoy all the others. If you get into the lore, playing all the games is a must. That said both Oblivion and Morrowind look rather dated, but people are still cooking mods for these games, so you'll find plenty of graphic overhauls to make them look better and improve on AI or other aspects.

I didn't like Oblivion as much, but I still enjoyed playing it. Guess it was the way all the faces look in the vanilla game... ugly as fuck.

I have played both. A lot. (oblivion I got before I got steam so it's not on steam).

I prefer Oblivion, despite the not-so-good graphics. Then again people say play Narrowing for the 'real' elder scrolls feel, but I haven't played it yet.

Nope, only if you are going to play Nehrim, but still, the graphics looks very, very dated, if someone tells you that it looks almost like Skyrim, then he's just blind. And I usually don't care about graphics.
Gameplay wise the "leveling" system where everything level as you level sucks + it is repetitive as hell.

Oblivion is MUCH better than Skyrim in terms of roleyplay. Skyrim is everytying graphic... the rest is crap. Thieves guild missions? Crap. Dark brotherhood missions? crap. Warriors and mages guild? CRAP. Just graphics and nice landscapes. Oblivion pwns Skyrim. and actually Morriwind kinda pwns Oblivion :)

Personally I'd say just skip Oblivion, it's good, but it lacks a lot of things and it was just a too big step for bethesda to transfer to a new engine and it flunked.

Morrowind is great, amazing and not to mention huge and time consumingly fun.
Skyrim is the same, not as good as Morrowind, but hey, it's better than Oblivion

Again, it's not terrible, just. It's alright if you want the whole story.
