Oh, sorry to hear that. :( They'll be someone else. This girl just wasn't right for you.
...Perhaps take your mind off it with some gaming or one of your other favorite hobbies...? Not the best advice, I know, but sometimes just getting lost in another world feels good for a while.

Girlfriend of 4 years broke up with me... I need some motivation, guys.
--
I'll be with my girlfriend for 4 years on valentines day... apart from the fact, she is days away from breaking up with me and nothing I can do/say is making her change her mind. In fact the drawing it out is just slowly pissing me off

If she is, you have society's permission to slap her. That is fucking cruel and she'd be a complete bitch to do that.

Worse that I will be traveling to stay with her for those days. If she breaks up with me she'll get a slap. She should break up with me before hand so I don't waste my money travelling to get dumped.

This, break up with her now instead, thats my advice...

That's an awful feeling. I thought for sure I was headed for a breakup once. Worst. Feeling. Ever. But I was lucky that it was just a silly misunderstanding (she and I are from different countries, and English isn't her native language --- that and her country's culture is so... different).
Hang in there. If there's nothing you can do, try not to beat yourself up at the very least and try to keep your mind off it. Focusing on it's only going to make it hurt more. :(

Who needs a girlfriend when you have videogames? :D

Don't worry, anyone can play video games. Small steps and patience. Go at their pace and let them win a few times. That's all it takes.

lol, my gf doesnt like that. I usually have my gf on her brothers team, then 2v1 or 3v1 with me being alone. The KDR does go up though.

To be honest, I have a spouse who occasionally plays videogames, but it's usually The Sims or some casual crap. And she looks at me weird when I'm playing Dwarf Fortress or something like that. :) So we almost never play together or have some games to discuss that we both play...
Still, she never says that I'm "wasting my life on silly videogames" or that I "like them more than her", and I'm grateful for that. :)

I have one. ;D Built her own computer even. And I actually play more casual games than she does. In fact, the only casual thing I remember her liking is Luxor.

Valentine's Day is overrated anyway. It's just an industry day. If you truly are in a relationship full of love, then you have to love the person 365 days period. You can use Valentine's Day to not love her, just say you don't care about this overrated day and if she appreciates you, she will with no problems accept it.
My valentine's day will be indifferent as every year, except that I broke up with a girl after 2 years.
Alpha reporting in.
Also stop finding cheer on the internet.
With the time waiting for people to post on an anonymous Steam Gift site, who simply don't care about you, you could lay out plans to start you life as a free man again and hunt down different women now. Hunting is more fun than being bound anyway.
Good luck, young one.

Funnily enough, I think it's only recently (less than 5 years) that Valentine's day has become popular here. Before we had a day to give girls (all women) flowers - not just one but many (8th of March). Now it seems things are different. And I see there is a real Valentine fever going on in other countries.
What can I say? Sometimes life just sucks, and it sucks so badly that you do not want to go on anymore. It is not always your fault, sometimes you even have really nothing to do with bad things that happen to you. But with time it still can get better, so sometimes there is just a point in your being where you have to "live through" certain things (I KNOW it's easier said than done).
It is very possible soon you might feel happy being single instead. Just think about all the opportunities? (Yeah I know now it sounds "wrong", but still they are there for you to discover).
Good luck.
