Nice one, I will thinking about the missing ones, but please... correct the queen's name... JANIS Joplin, not Janice... Thanks! =)
PS: The Animals, Canned Heat, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Sha Na Na, The Band, Sting, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Chris de Burgh /Lady in Red/ are proper ones for the list? =)
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry for delayed response, they all are being to the list right now.
Thanks for reminding me about them, totally forgot about some of them
On the side note, i found 2 bands named "Blood", one of them was j-rock, and other is actually being added to the list as well.
Small question, why did you add "Chris de Burgh /Lady in Red/" , not just "Chris de Burgh"?

As long as you have NIN (a band I'd like to contribute a giveaway or two for) and Marilyn Manson I'd suggest Ministry, Tool (and A Perfect Circle) and Coil (possibly, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Die Krupps, KMFDM and :Wumpscut: - I guess, I'll have to do a separate Industrial train someday to put all of these there)
On the other note: The Cure, Lacrimosa and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Finally, closer to rock (rather than Gothic and Industrial): Black label Society, Nick Cave, Guano Apes and Skunk Anansie.

Phew, finally checked your list.
First of all, thanks for contribution again.
Nick Cave, Coil, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Die Krupps, KMFDM, :Wumpscut: - seem to belong to a different genre.
Guano Apes, Skunk Anansie - not sure if i shall add them (we already have much less games than artists :\ )
Rest is added.

I don't really get the point of this post, but if we talk about rock & metal sign me in.
You should check out The 69 Eyes, Hardcore Superstar, H.E.A.T, SunStrike, Reckless Love, Crashdiet, Backyard Babies, Sister (from Sweden), Bloodbound, Alestorm, Dropkick Murphys, Delain, Heroes del Silencio, Los Piojos, Mirrormaze, Stealing Eden, Thunderstone, Utopian Trap, Winterborn
SHIT, thats only a few, sorry if they are in no particular order, I just wrote them as they came to my mind. Even though they not make it to the list, for the sake of good music, please give them a listen, they are absolutely mind-blowing, each and one of them

Checked your list, thanks for contrbuting once again.
Alestorm is already on list, Dropkick Murphys is Keltic Punk, which doesn't really fit this train.
Delain, Mirrormaze - not sure if i shall add them (we already have much less games than artists :\ )
Rest is added.

Finally checked your list, thanks again.
Heroes del Silencio, The Cure – already on the list
Frank Zappa – not sure about this artist, but added
Elton John – any rock-ish examples?
Flowers – can you specify artist? Found few of them xD (I think you meant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R79pVAMY-mg)
Tame Impala, El Tri, Kraken, Molotov, La Ley, Fobia – not sure about them, didn't add for now
Bob Marley, James Brown, Café Tacuba, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, The Jokers Wild, Painkiller, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Crosby Stills and Nash - seem to belong to other genres

It will be a pleasure.
Glad Heroes del Silencio, Mr. Zappa and The Cure made it into the list.
Elton John has some oldies rock n roll/swing sound. As an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3bWKFawyKo from the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Album. Also he has influenced one of the most iconic Rock N Roll singers (Axl Rose). Probably Elton John has some Swing instead of Rock N Roll, but definitely he rocks the arena. Probably you are right. So far as I know about his works, he's more of a medley musician than an explosive artist like as for example The Twisted Sisters, Led Zeppelin or KISS. Probably Jokers Wild falls into this category too. A swing style music. Probably like early Beatles and Rolling Stones, or their bands before getting big: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGg00SWmJn0
Flowers actually was a rock n roll group in which David Gilmour played, but definitely is not the one from the link. Not bad, but I should had specified more on that. Sorry about that. Finally Jokers Wild came up from the same root. David Gilmour as far as I know was in Jokers Wild and Flowers before getting aboard the Pink Floyd train when Mr. Barret felt into the dark void that left him out of the band.
Tame Impala is more like modern psychedelic rock. I suggested this since you have Jefferson Airplane and Jimmy Hendrix, which do have similar styles of music, but performed as the 60s style (instrumentation, tempo and sound). El Tri, and Molotov are Latin American rock bands. Not necessarily rock n roll at all, nor pure American nor European rock, but still a really good spice to add to the scene. Regarding Fobia. No, I totally messed that part so bad. It is actually Flema which is a Punk Rock band. I saw Green Day in your list and said, well he got Green Day which is a Punk band. Why not recommend Flema. Regarding Café Tacuba and La Ley, those do rock, but in a very light way. Those are more medley, probably at the level of The Eagles which also is in your list, but not to the level of Elton John to say it like that. Probably they don't belong to the list at all, you are right.
My memory betrayed me once again. It was Judas Priest instead of Painkiller. For some reason I loved the song a lot back in the day that in some way I thought the band was called Painkiller. So, it is Judas Priest which you already have on the list. Regarding Kraken (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvE_jvcHpf8) I definitely think that it should be in your list since it's heavy metal and you have some heavy metal bands such as Tenacious D and Black Sabbath. About the other ones, yeah. Those do belong to other genres. I felt like they had some songs in a heavier style as their natal band genres because of several riffs and beats, but definitely, are not bands that do rock out the arena in the style of Guns N Roses for example. Not at all.
As for example Johnny Cash is some kind of super oldie singer (I feel like it falls with Elvis and Bob Dylan which you have in the list.). He has old rock n roll and inspired many modern/old artists, but not as like the rock we all know from the 70s and beyond. Still, I kind of fell like he's a pioneer of what rock n roll evolved into for both music and attitude. Bob Marley has reggae, but some beats and riffs feel kind of rockish, but I feel like you are right, and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is more like a Ska/Reggae band which it is kind of way too off from the purpose. You are so right on this one.
But those are just suggestions, you don't have to forcibly put them on the list. I feel like your list Is so damn good as it is now, and I do respect if you include or exclude any artist from my suggestions. Since in the end it was just a suggestion of bands I used to hear, or still hear today.
Thanks a lot for hearing me and taking an eye into it. I appreciate it a lot, and it's super neat to find someone that is into this kind of music a lot.
PS: This is probably one of the most amazing, and coolest lists I had ever seen in around the last five years. Good job!
Best Regards!

Now that was nice, detailed explanation!
Put many of artists i was unsure of to the list.
Also, suggestion, maybe you would like to make latin rock train in the future?
I was planning to do event about regional (asian, russian, etc) rock someday.

No problem. Glad more artists made it to the list.
Also, regarding the idea of the next rock train. It sounds great! I feel like I can help with that if I have the time. In around two weeks my activities will return to normality, but sounds like a great thing if I can contribute.
Latin American has too many bands as far as I can remember and new are popping up on the urban scene. Right now Mexico has a great underground and metal scene on many places of the country. Unfortunately the commercial status for those is not so great, so it is hard for those to make it really big, or be publicly known outside of their states. In the other hand, Latin America and Hispanic countries have their own Woodstock to say it like that called Vive Latino. Which is a reunion of many old and new Spanish spoken bands that get together each year if I remember well.
But as for what I suggested on the list. There is not much rock n roll at all in Latin America as far as I can tell. There is a ton of Heavy Metal from around Argentina and near countries, but not sure about the pure rock n roll scene nor roots of it. For example in Mexico, Caifanes had to push like ultra super hard to be able to be known publicly in their time since rock n roll wasn't a cool thing for Mexicans back then at all. So, there is that problem in Latin America that not so many rock n roll bands are so publicly known or successful as for example Led Zeppelin is, or The Beatles. Some of the bands I did put into my suggestion list are some of the most publicly known/successful among young folks today. I can be so wrong, but when I lived there. What predominated the most under the people that was into the music scene was Metal and it's roots. Ska, Post-hardcore, Punk, Techno/Electronic, Latin Music and a ton of Trance and Psychedelic genres. Not much Rock N Roll at all.
So, I will be more than glad to contribute. I also will need to revisit and contact some old buddies to make sure my list is correct. That will require some time, but as I said. I do hope to have the time to be able to help. Lets see what time tells.
Make sure to throw me a message when ready. I will be more than glad to contribute with Spanish spoken bands. Not necessarily Latin American bands only, but I am sure I can get the name of one or two Hispanic bands. As for example Heroes Del Silencio is from Spain.
PS: I do know about Mexico, a little bit of Argentina. But not sure about the other parts of Latin America at all. I may need to do extra research to get into it well, and give you the most detailed bands out there. Same with the Hispanic scene. I just know a little bit about them, and most if about Spain.
Best Regards,
Jam

significant omissions: Bad Company, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, Billy Idol, Billy Joel
further consideration: J. Geils Band, White Zombie, Static-X, Dope, All That Remains, Five Finger Death Punch
personal note: the song list on your Iron Maiden template lacks Paschendale. I am disappoint.

I was going to say Lordi, but they are in the list :)
More: Tarot, Halford, Sentenced

TL;DR: Making rock'n'roll -> rock -> metal train.
Updates:
List is closed for adding now, you still can share artists you like though, it's really appreciated.
In need of giveaway contributors, since there are much more artists than games gathered so far.
Also, I think no more artists are needed, since it's time to remove like half of them, due to not enough contributions.
Template for giveaway is ready, although it's raw. Feel free to suggest how to make it better on the GA page.
bold artists are staying for sure,
crossedartists will be removed, most likely (in case of not enough GA)Hello everyone.
This is my first thread, made to celebrate:
Speaking of train theme, it will be "Rock and Metal History", from the oldest artists, to the modern ones. And I'm making this thread in preparation for such train... and this is where you come in, to help me make the train!
This train will consist of 50-100 stops roughly (it really depends on community interest about it), and each stop will contain information about the artist, logo, photos and Youtube links to the best songs.
Details:
It's my first train and I want it to be great! And YOU can help me make it great! Contribute your suggestions, thoughts, and ideas (for example - mention missing artists in the list below) or contribute a game, and make the train longer and better! Any game is much appreciated, it doesn't have to be related to rock'n'roll or metal, but it must be region-free, as mentioned above.
I figured that there could be two ways of contributing a game:
People who are interested in helping me with games, please send a friend request to me on Steam, and we can figure out the details in private.
If you have an idea about train improving, please make your intellectual contribution in the comment below.
And now let me finally introduce you the list of artists (which is subject to be changed), sorted alphabetically, so it will be easier to find missing ones (comment below if you see a deserving artist missing in the list):
The 13th Floor Elevators,3 Doors Down(?),The 69 Eyes(?)Budgie(?), The ByrdsP.S. There probably will be no folk artists or artists from Asia, because it would make train neverending.
