LOL

How anyone who played DotA2 once can think this is good idea is beyond me.

TL/DR for some commenters - if you don't see why tablet edition of DotA2 is harebrained idea due to how its UI works or how trying to "expand" (read: move) what is Windows/Mac gaming service to tablets and Linux (instead of improving paying portion) isn't foolish, money wasting enterprise I sadly can't help you.

It would be fine if proceeds from Linux Steam profits paid for work on it, but as it is, Gabe's pet project that will never work (seriously, the fact that Linux TF2 version stopped working at all due to bug was first reported on official forums mere 23 hours after update hit...) is shafting 99% of userbase.

Just you since its already been proven that it gives a boost in performance....

Linux is a faster and more efficient OS, what makes you think it would not be just as good or better?

No OS is built specifically for gaming, but Linux's open-sourced, well-coded nature means that runs applications and games much smoother and faster than Windows.

Moving games onto Linux is a good thing IMO. Windows is a pretty awful platform; the only reason we haven't completely cast it aside is that most pre-existing games and software is written for Windows. Valve is trying to fight the trend and make Linux a viable platform for gamers so that they aren't bound to Microsoft's frequent idiocy.

If Steam officially gets optimized for Linux, I'm very likely to drop Windows and opt for Linux instead.

On the other hand, Tablet Gaming sounds and looks uninteresting and terribly casual.
