Any games that you feel could use a decent update or complete overhaul on, or hell, even a decent pc port?

I'm aching for a few games: Morrowind, Bloodrayne (1 &2), and maybe a decent pc port/remaster of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Digimon Digital Card Battle (Or even better, localize the Japanese-only "Digimon World: Digital Card Battle" but bring in the international released sequel's mechanic).

Ar Tonelico

No need a remaster, but I'd love to see the Patapon franchise ported to PC.

So many that have been listed that I agree with.

The one I specifically I want to see return is Chron X, the internet's first CCG.

Well, trying to list games which are actually in the age/technical state of requiring a remake, instead of following the thread's "games that look and run perfectly fine but I want somewhat higher-resolution textures for them" vibe:

  • Silent Hill 1, because technologically it was shit. SH2 and SH3 still run decently and look spectacular ( and are on PC) though. The series died after that anyway, so not like anyone would miss the rest.
  • MDK1, similar reasons. Good game, but since they wanted to make something no engine of the time could handle, they created something that barely runs today, and the sound design is simply abhorrent.
A better version would be packing it together with MDK2 and releasing it as one giant game.
  • Maybe Chrono Trigger, although it is fine as it is if they would just pack it legally into an emulator environment framework. If they actually updated it to HD with the original artwork, everybody would downvote it for being "fantasy Dragon Ball" (considering Toriyama actually can draw roughly 3 different characters, so everyone in the Chrono Trigger cinematic cut-scnes look like DBZ characters as it is).
  • Resident Evil - Code: Veronica. A simple "we made it able to run on PC/8th gen consoles" version would be enough, but an RE1HD style touch-up would be welcome.
  • And since we are there: Dino Crisis 1 and 2.
  • Alone in the Dark 1. Technologically it almost looked impressive at the time, but let's face it: it is a choppy, laggy mess with polygon characters that look like a terrible first-grader art project in animation school.
  • Hexen, for being I think the only early FPS games that wasn't remade in some fashion. Additional plus points if they have the balls to reveal the remake somewhere in the US Bible belt area.
  • A working PC version of Shenmue, with higher-resolution textures. (There, did my quota.)
  • An ACTUAL high-definition remake of XCOM: Ufo Defense/UFO: Enemy Unknown. Not that stripped-down top-down shooter the remake turned out to be, nor Xenonauts (which is a perfectly good game, but the new aiming system is so radically different that it is still nowhere near the same experience; plus, well, totally different timeframe and aesthetics).
  • I'd say the rest of the classic LucasArts point 'n' clicks, but Double Fine seems to be reduced to a studio doing nothing else than remastering them, so we will most likely see the remaining ones (sans Indiana Jones) eventually.
  • Which reminds me: Neverhood. Funny how many claymation-type adventure games are still blatantly ripping it off, yet nobody managed to fish out its rights and redo it.
  • Jazz Jackrabbit 1, because it has issues keeping the pace even on DosBox. Heck, just do the same thing as with Crash, and make one game that has the entire package (well, the good games at least).
  • Albion. Yes, I know that none of you heard about it.
  • Ultima I-III. The SNES-like touch-ups some other early Ultima games received would be enough.
  • Daggerfall, but only after Bethesda goes bankrupt and the rights end up at a studio where the game designers are not two perpetually drunken lemurs, so maybe they can actually remake it as an actual video game.
  • Maybe Tyrian/Tyrian 2000, although it runs fine with DosBox and has zero issues that should be addressed in a remake. SOme spritework could be in order though.

This is mostly I can think of. The rest are fine even today as they are, were already remade, or I know a remake is coming (Like System Shock 1 and Resident Evil 2).

Agreed. I always loved watching the Blaster Bombs was always my favorite part, before computers became faster than 486's... then their movement trajectory became instantaneous.

Welp, sorry to disappoint you but I have heard of Albion. And I even played through it completely in my childhood and loved it. The weird Change between 2d map and 3d dungeons, the Magic skills which could be enhanced by usage, the high amount of optional dungeons, the shop system you could buy good weapons early on if you just use the time to grind some meat, the mostly interesting quest lines, the fact how you could Level up for smuggling out the pistol from the ship, the fact you could collect 1000 of useless items, a meaningful weight management. Game had a lot of good design decisions.

Also tried to replay it 10 years later again and it was going well besides it being dated (loved how they managed to hide the poor 3d sprites by making Monsters and npc constantly looking at you ^^). Although it did only go well to the part with the assassination plot. I knew there was a deadline I had to resolve this situation but I couldn't figure out how anymore so I looked it up. And it was necessary to use the Input keyword function for that quest but no matter which keyword I used it didn't work and so I had to stop there because you can't leave the Island otherwise Maybe it was a problem because I played the english version and the game was original german. Or I had some kind of defect version .....

Also really liked Code Veronica X as it featured both my favourite characters (the Redfield siblings) in one game. And it was the last Chance to see Chris before his Steroid abuse. T_T

I have an account old enough on GOG that I got it for free, with a DosBox attached and already fine-tuned, to never look into the matter. It runs as intended, I just sometimes wished it had more than 320×240 resolution. :)

Lots of good comments in this thread...

Because it's been on my mind lately, I'd love to see Spider-man 2 remade and on PC. I feel like we might never get a game that did the webslinger quite as right as that one did. And the actual PC version we had was an entirely different game (which was awful), for some goddamn reason. It'll never happen, though, because the rights are exclusively in Sony's hands now.

I would perosnally rather see them re-make the vanilla version of Thief 1... the gold levels, apart from the opera house, were simply not very fun, and the changes they made to one of the levels (the one where you're in the ancient ruined underground city) just made it worse :(

Given it already has both an English translation on the Vita and a PC release only in China and so already has some of the barriers removed, Ys:Memories of Celceta on a western pc marketplace would be great to fill in that gap on the timeline.
