Hi everyone, I just deleted a GA for Saints Row IV after realizing it might be region locked to "Europe" (key bought on gamersgate).
I tried to make another GA for it, but then noticed that "Europe" was not available in the GA creation region specifications list.
If I understood the rules correctly, it means that I can"t make a GA for this key, am I right ?
Thanks for the clarifications (it's not very clear to me why North America and Germany are available, but Europe is not, but well, I just want to be sure I'm not messing up with the rules here ;) )

It's a 50/50, Theres no region restricion for that, so you can't PUBLIC
on the other side, you can for example ask people here that are from eu to join a private giveaway of saints row 4.

Thanks for your answer. I guess I'll do that then, as soon as I've read the rules for private GA's creation ;)

Technically, people put up region-restricted public giveaways all the time, but the sheer number of trolls and bots in public giveaways tends to make such giveaways rather stressful for the GA creator. Invite-only giveaways and private groups both tend to be pretty reliable, but manually inviting users to a new group (or whitelist) [after confirming their region on your own] does tend to be the most risk-free option.

Really, I'm not sure staff won't give you a pass on delivery obligation (to a winner from the wrong region), if you mention the restrictions clearly- but even if they do, public giveaways will at the least still amount to quite a bit of rerolls, given the reliable inclusion of a high number of invalid entries.

As far as Europe or EU not being on the restriction list, here is the reason for that.

I've created the private GA already. Thank you for the explanations !

(I should have left my first GA then, as it was limited to my whitelist and steam groups Unlucky 7 and Playing Appreciated, but I won't delete and change everything again. I'll know, next time ;) )

I would create an invite only GA and a thread stating that it is only for Europe. If you want to be on the super safe side, ask people to confirm in the thread that they are from Europe and only send them the GA link (via Steam or old giveaway of theirs) afterwards (=lots of work).

Txs, I'll do that (not the lots of work part, though)

Inviting them to a group is a lot less effort than sending out invite links. Also, staff has indicated that giveaway links placed into old giveaways are treated the same way as links dropped on the forums- in other words, you can't reroll for leaked entry. It may not be a problem for a region-restricted giveaway, as leaks become pretty blantant and thus might get a pass (and that's assuming staff doesn't already allow a pass for region-restricted giveaways which detail their restrictions within their descriptions), but it does mean that groups are a more stable option, as well, in addition to being a more expedient one.

You can, worst case scenario, use Poland as your region. Germany might work too, but with their censorship rules I wouldn't be 100% sure.

it's not very clear to me why North America and Germany are available, but Europe is not

There used to be many "North America only" cd-keys, it's quite new they make Europe-only keys (usually it was NA and Rest-of-World). As for Germany, that's because of their crazy censorship rules.
Plus, there probably would need to be two Europe regions, one "Europe" and other "Europe without Germany"...
