Yeah... I don't get it either ... why would people celebrate getting older?
A new job, doing well in an exam, the nosy neighbors next door moving away,
all of those, so much better reasons for throwing a party ;-)

Anyway, just pretend it's not your birthday, tell everyone you know, that
are not to mention it under any circumstances and you'll be surprised
that even your birthday can be quite agreeable. I mean, it works for me.

yes, you're a human being and you'll die eventually. i'm glad you realized that. even if the time passed slower for you and you lived, say 500 years, what would be the big difference? you'll never be ready to... you know... deal with it and embrace getting older.
