So, I experience all the time that someone gives away a game that is in this specific case region locked for my country, but not every key/gift for the gameis locked in general. It is very nice from the creator to say this right away in the description of the GA, but I don't want to see this certain Giveaway every timeI scroll through the list. On the other hand, I also do not want to hide the game in general, since there are also GAs with keys for this game that are activatable in my country. You could also hide a giveaway that you are sure is fake/created by accident, and do not want to see it anymore before it gets removed. Or the creator wishes all entrants to visit their youtube channel for example, and you are a fair guy that does not want to enter because you do not want to support the creator:)

Of course the possibility to hide a game in general should be preserved, I use it a lot, too. But I think the function above would be a nice addition to the feature:)

TL;DR, I sometimes feel the need to hide one specific giveaway, not all giveaways for the game.

EDIT: It's already possible with this script. Still you can vote for a native implementation of the feature.

So you're talking about hiding a specific instance of a giveaway?
Makes sense. Counter-argument: might cause server overload

Exactly, like: "I don't want to see the giveaway with the link 'https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/XXXX/GAME-NAME' on the front page or in any filters."

I do not understand much about what produces traffic and what not, but would it really cause so much traffic? I mean, of course for my profile there have to be specific information about what GAs I want to hide, but on the other hand, this is just a list, right? And it would exclude the giveaway from my GA view, therefore fewer traffic on the server? Please correct me if I am wrong:)

the data could be stored locally via cookies for example. The server would load list of Ga normally but hidden ones would not be shown (same way as GA filter scripts work).

Thank you a lot, didn't know about that yet! I am thinking about switching to this script for the feature, but I actually like SG++ a lot more... Anyway, thanks for showing that you can do this already:)

Don't we already only see GAs suitable for our regions?

But there are some games that are ROW except for Germany for example, and there will never be selectable regions for cases like that unfortunately:(

Ah, Germany, ok. That's a special case, of course. I'm sure you're aware that some games are not sold in Germany but will still activate there while others just won't work at all.

I am, and I know some people claim their key cannot be activated in Germany although I know it can. But there are also games that I can be pretty sure are not activatable here when the creator says so:) E.g. Wolfenstein or Sleeping Dogs:DE :)

Well, yes they do. But some GAs last very long, up to 4 weeks. I check on SG multiple times a day, and it is really annoying to always have wishlisted games shown there, and you always have to keep in mind "Ah, right, that one. I cannot enter this."
Theres always that great feeling when you see someone is giving away a game from your wishlist, but then you remember that it is not meant for you. Thats just disappointing, and to be honest, I also do not want to see giveaways I cannot enter every time I check on SG.
