Would you be interested in a Steamdating website made by cg?
Forget all the nay sayers, I like it! Would be cool to find users with the same gaming interests, I'd probably still ignore them though, damn weirdos. Anyone who loves Strife: Quest for the Sigil as much as I do will instantly become my best friend or wife though.
Also we should be able to win dates just like you win games that would be funny (this one is a joke :p)

I like the basic idea of showing people with common games but the specific "dating" will ruin it fast.
The main idea should be to find people based on common games or interests as a community platform and besides that it should be cross-platform like facebook for example: wether you use steam, uplay, origin or play games like league of legens, blade and soul - all gathered in 1 place. Call it "gamer's facebook". And obviously to prevent abuse and provide security you should have to verify your account there by unique ID of the country you live in.

I wouldn't mind it in a sense of finding friends with common interests, I'm pretty introverted so finding people to chat with on Steam, when I'm in the mood, is hard. But to date? Nah

That's a bad idea, seriously. :/ You would trust a random person on the internet, who could just pretend to be someone else? Be careful with these things. It won't be safe. Also, with all the farming time on games that everyone has, our suitable dates would be with farmers. xD

Might be a good idea as a squad finder.....finding friends who play the same games you do etc......the dating thing is a bit overdone...there's tons of dating sites, and most of them have "Video Games" as a selectable hobby so people can search out those who share that particular hobby...I do like the idea of finding friends and stuff who would be down for playing colonial marines, or other games that have a low playerbase.

A very good bad idea. Can I still participate if I already have a gf? I think girls would just pretend to be men so they wouldn't have to deal with it. However, I would never immediately reject such ideas. All common things with two people are potential bringer togethers. It would need to be separate from SG to prevent causing problems for SG and as somebody already said the people running this site have no experience in running a dating site. Somebody also linked a Steam group there, that's another idea. Make a new dating group and giveaways to promote it!

Hello my idea is gonna look weird but i was wondering if cg had ever thought about a website using a part of SG code where people could date based on their steam accounts. There would be an account value entry(the same as the one needed to join Steamgifts) to limit the risks of abuse, but no real sort of contributor value.
Steamgifts can detect which game you have so we can imagine a system where you could look for people having same games as you for example, or a quizz where you write which are your favourite games/kindof games. This new website brother of SG and Strades could also be used to make new friends too. With millions of users from Steamgifts the possibilities would be numerous. Of course the system would have its limits as with all dating websites, but it would be an opportunity to date people who share the same hobby as you,video games. The staff would be the same as the one used for Steamgifts, and would be allowed to participate.
