Does Rockstar deserve the heat?
Well steam review system should improve. Into a multiple star rating. Then people could just give a bad rating for modding and ........ While giving single player and story a good star rating. Maybe in combination with custom ratingword
Some people give a game a bad rating for weird reasons while the game might be good. Like I hate this game it is just a GTA copy. Or bad graphics while the game is 20 years old

On the poll:
No, Rockstar doesn't deserve the heat. The developers of GTA have always been cool with mods.
Now, Take 2, the publisher on the other hand....
All I'll say is, not liking mods is one thing, but going after the one big-name mod with a team behind it that tries to make sure their work stays within fair use (doesn't influence online play, doesn't directly expose the game's code etc.) is a dumbass move.

After 80M copies, they eat ,drink , crap money :V !

Honestly there's no winning. You have negative reviews complaining about people unfairly using mods or negative reviews about them doing something about it.
Still, I wouldn't worry about it affecting a future game release. They surely look at sales numbers more than reviews and if i were in the market to buy I certainly wouldn't be swayed on a AAA game by a bunch of negative reviews complaining about modding.

They don't deserve it.
The whole shitshow is Take-Two's responsibility, not Rockstar's. Rockstar always defended and endorsed mods.
Comment has been collapsed.
What relations have Take-Two and Rockstar? Maybe Rockstar could throw off useless Take-Two...

It probably should. If a game is shit in vanilla state, that game is shit.

No offense but the people who haven't bought GTA V yet and are still waiting for a 95% off sale are probably not the customers they care about most :D
Also were there good mods too or just stuff with the quality of Liberty City and Vice City mods ?
But on the other hand I wrote "one of those" reviews for a different game myself the other day, although I know it's childish, so I can't really blame the people who already own the game for expressing their discontent.
Edit: Steam Workshop isn't even listed under the features.

Not really 95% but not 60 or 30 EUR for a game that came in 2013. Sadly this price is because of MP that I wouldn't care .
The funny thing is they buy the games for MP and they rant about the games MP after , but hackers ... :V !
Mods are more important than MP , the MP, in a couple of years, will not exist, and even for V there are some mods that make the game even greater graphically !

You are talking about the original release for XBox 360 and PS3. The PC version everybody has been begging for was released on 14 Apr, 2015.
Also even if you completely ignore Multiplayer, Singleplayer alone offers content for ~ 250 hours which completely justifies a 60€ price tag in my opinion and multiplayer adds about twice that on top.
I used to play on XBox 360 and PS4 (gladly I could borrow the 360 copy so I could save my purchase for the "real" version) so the hacker / cheater problem doesn't really affect me. Also no mods on console... Coincidence ?
Mods are more important than MP
I disagree. And that is coming from a person who normally plays every game 5 years after release. I have not seen a GTA mod yet that wasn't unpolished, unfinished and buggy. Just look at the Liberty City and Vice City mods. And I have no use for naked character models with DDD tits ;)

If I wanted that I'd be playing Saints Row :D

Sorry but I said when the game was released not when it was ported and that was 2013. Was the core gaming mechanics released in 14 Apr, 2015 ?
The Witcher 3 also offers hundred of hours and it was released after GTA V and had 2 new expansion that would equal with the amount you will spend in GTA V and is 50 Eur !

It doesn't matter that you disagree because that is your opinion , also it is buggy because of rockstar, they didn't support this and now they are disabling them.
You don't need to believe me, see here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWnFQLVnc1I , this mod does want the devs did with the PS version to make the PC one !
Or here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b46WlhGJr0, !

No, just First person view and Rockstar creator were added at that point. But if you want the console version that was released earlier you can get that for a lot cheaper.
The Witcher 3 also offers hundred of hours and it was released after GTA V and had 2 new expansion that would equal with the amount you will spend in GTA V and is 50 Eur !
So you're honestly gonna complain about 10€ difference ?
It doesn't matter that you disagree because that is your opinion
And the other one is yours. Neither of them is objectively correct. That's the thing about opinions.

While I didn't understand most of what you just said (this mod does want the devs did with the PS version to make the PC one !)
I honestly couldn't care less about graphical overhaul mods. How many people can afford to buy a several thousand € gaming PC every 18 months so they can actually make use of that ?

Sorry but my POW is supported by the links that I gave you, yours is not , I am waiting for yours if you have !
Also by the backlash that the community has made !
Also you didn't say anything about TW3 vs GTA V price !
It is not 10 EUR because in TW3 you get 2 new expansion, if we want to compare without it is 30 vs 60 EUR or 15 vs 30 EUR and TW3 Game of the Year Edition was released in 30 Aug, 2016 not in 14 Apr, 2015 and it is still cheaper but hey that doesn't matter ?
Sorry, you can say what you want but for a game that is 4 years old to still be 60 EUR on PC, sorry but maybe next time they should stay on consoles !

Naw :D I'm done discussing with somebody who hasn't played the game first hand.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

And GTA V got 3 years worth of free Multiplayer content financed solely through microtransactions. Not their fault that you don't care about multiplayer.
sorry but maybe next time they should stay on consoles !
I would love that (just like they did with Read Dead Redemption) just to see the reactions :D

Sorry but I did play it but as you I don' have it on Steam . If I would have not played it I wouldn't talk about it !
"I would love that just like they did with Read Dead Redemption just to see the reactions :D" My reaction is like now , what ever :V !
I don't understand fanboys(I am not talking about you).
Hey I am a fanboy about some games, Gothic series, ELEX and so one.
I do defend those , but I would say like this , I am subjective they are greedy, this game is buggy but because of those elemnts: ... for my this game is what I want but I wouldn't just negate reality :V !

My bad then. Your first reply came off like you were considering buying the PC version as well which made me assume you didn't play any of the other versions.

I adore GTA 3 and SA. I finished GTA 3 3 times , Vice city 2 times , San Andreas 3 times , GTA4 one time . Gta 1 and 2 played when I was a lismall .
Gta V I played until 50% I think !
Comment has been collapsed.
Do you mean ingame completion because that's rather high if I remember correctly since Story doesn't make up a particularly high percentage ?
I've done pretty much all I could (without unreasonable grind) in singleplayer (including the hidden Kifflom questline) but playing the stock market for the highest possible percentages on the assassination missions was a bit too much trial and error for me so I still haven't seen many of the businesses and related business missions because I couldn't afford all the properties and couldn't pick which ones I should buy.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep , well I like open worlds. I usually finish secondary quests first and then then main, that is why after 80h I still didn't finish TW3 main story that and the fact that I play at death march with enemy upscale and now even that is kind of easy for me :V !
Comment has been collapsed.
I usually finish secondary quests first and then then main
So do I. I usually like to do sidemissions to stretch playtime and only do 1 story mission like every 5 sidemissions depending on how much of both is left. And eventhough most GTA sidemissions use sheme F (= are build with the same mission structure) the world is so vivid and there as so many variables you never know what's going to happen.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, definitely not an uncritical fanboy. I've stopped playing Online for other reasons. Mainly because you spend more time in loading screens in GTA Online than playing because the game is so overloaded with features and it just takes 1 random to mess a mission up for the whole team and you're back to waiting 5 minutes on the loading screen to try again.

I adore the series but I just don't like the business model, after 80M copies sold they shouldn't be this greedy but this is reality so :V !

So I guess in conclusion we can say we both like Grand Theft Auto but we have different priorities when it comes to modding and multiplayer.
That's something I can definitely live with ;)

I will buy it on PC to make it a perfect game but the price doesn't reflect it's age for me !

I might also give in to the temptation to buy it at some point just to complete my Rockstar collection on Steam but considering I haven't replayed the others on Steam yet I'm not really in a hurry with that.

Good!
They need to learn a lesson, not to fuck with their customers.
Comment has been collapsed.
if tomorrow they would release gta six all these "angry customers" would buy again a ps4 version and a year after a pc version and 6 months later ingamecash for $120...
So they can "fuck" as hard as they want. Most complaining people would still buy a gta 6

All these take two shills in here really need to take a shoutgun mouthwash to come back to their senses again.

I thought they only banned that ONE mod and not ALL?
Comment has been collapsed.
Or the correct way to say it, they banned a tool which only existed by reverse engineering the game files (as the devs of the tool stated them selfs)......and if other people might look at the code of that tool they could use the code to write cheats for the game.

Ok i get it why "Overwhelmingly Negative at 16%" for GTA V
But i dont understand what does that have to do with "L.A. Noire", "Max Payne series" ......?
So it means if i dont like a single product from a company i must give some fake reviews for all their product ? YEY i'm a grown man

OpenIV petition closes in on 50,000 signatures as GTA 5 hits 'mixed' Steam review rating

This is kind of... HUGE.
Also, I get the anger. I personally love mods

Whatever "players" put on Steam, GTA V in my eyes still is an unbeaten OW game - played it twice and when I finally get it on Steam library, I'll play it for the third time. Don't care about mods or public opinion - only mine does in my eyes.
BTW: L.A. Noire still the best detective game made so far.
Comment has been collapsed.
+1 to that, got refunded on Ark two months after buying it. Always worth a shot.
Comment has been collapsed.
It'd make more sense if they did this like a week after the game came out it. Since they're doing it now, after modding has existed in the game since it came out, they deserve the backlash.
Comment has been collapsed.
I know some people that have lost all their MP money because of a glitch, lost their account, started a ticket for support and no solution. And still, they keep playing the game...so I´m guessing It´s not gonna matter anyway. It sucks that they don´t support the mod community tho.

I don't think Skyrim was even hit this hard when the paid mod fiscal happened.
