I would likely try it for a chance at KoA or Skyrim ;P

Beat I Wanna Be the Guy in one week on Hard Mode (Very Hard Mode if you've played it before). I will personally mail you a cookie if you can successfully do it and give me proof (not even joking). It's not actually THAT hard, but not everyone is as good at platformers as me. ;D

I'd likely do it myself. I have enough free time anyways. :p Though there is a problem with the concept. How can you know they're actively playing it? I just ask because, while many would stick by their word, there are some who might try to cheat the system.

I only wish I had 48 hours free in a week, never mind being able to use that much time for gaming.
Still, it's a nice idea :)

I am not sure I understand how it would get set up, and how to stop people from abusing (I.E. leaving their computer on with the game "running". Kind of skeptical, but could be fun. Maybe more fun if it was somehow a community thing.

I would be interested in a challenge like that, but I am too busy at the moment to play another game in addition to games that I'm playing at the moment :O

I would be interested but I would most probably win every challenge because I have a fuckton of free time, so it'd be unfair.

Only hours? If the game has Steam achievements add that. 48 hours and 3-5 Steam achievements from the game. The achievements ensure that the participant just doesn't leave the game open without playing it.
I highly recommend in order of importance: Mission Runway, Farming Simulator, and Railworks 3.

They could use SAM. I do realise all these ways, I'm not an idiot. I'd only be extending the offer to people I trust.

No one said you're an idiot lol but I did forgot about SAM, doh! facepalms self

I suggest you take a look at Farming Simulator. IT HAS MULTIPLAYER!!! Railworks is only single player.

I'd be willing to try this, as long as the person who challenges me buys the game in the first place. I'd just have to work it around school, but I've put in a lot of time into games in a short period before (130 hrs in Fallout 3 in 10 days, yeah, I know, I have no life). If someone comes up with something, I'm sure there could be some sort of middleman to check my progress and to mediate any deals.

I would love to be challenged. It does have to be a game that isn't too graphically intensive, though. My laptop is not powerful at all. For goodness sake, I tried loading up Sword and Sworcery and it had quite a bit of slowness and lag throughout. Bring it on, though. I'll take any piece of shit game you can deal and actually play through it. Hell, I'll even actually try to finish the game. Would anyone like to take it out on this pillow?

Haha Ill definetly do this! Ill play ANY GAME for x amount of hours in 2 weeks for x prize.

If anyone gifts me farming simulator I will play 48+ hours in the next two weeks AFTER may 17th. I have a huge exam then and need to study for it. Prizes are negotiable XD

I would be up for a challenge some time, check out my library and hit me up :)

I have the time...but 48hrs of one I may not enjoy as much at the moment as what I am playing (let alone horrible)...I don't know. I look forward to seeing how those who take up the challenge do.

Dinner Date or The Graveyard would be epic games for a 48 hour Ironman (or woman) challenge :)
Insanity awaits...

Maybe. This is just an interest thread for now.
Currently, I have two bets going on. If my friend can play 48 hours of Secret of the Magic Crystals in a week, I get him Kingdoms of Amalur. If he fails, he gets me Legend of Grimrock. Now, I've just accepted another challenge for me to play 48 hours of Secret in exchange for a $15 of my choice (Grimrock goes to the challenger if I fail).
How many of you would be interested in challenges such as this? Note that it may not always be Secret that is the game to play. I may decide to test you on another awful game that I might find. Who purchases the challenge game (if not already owned) would be decided based on what the reward is.
Read the damn thread please before you bring up the stupid idling argument yet again. It's been dealt with repeatedly.
