I bought it on Steam back in July of last year, and I activated it with an Origin account as prompted when I tried to launch the game.

But now that I reinstalled the game, it asks me to re-activate it with my Origin account, which I forgot the email/password to.

Would making a new account on Origin and buying a key for the game elsewhere allow me to play it?
I don't care about the old account since that was the only game I had on it.

It would, but I don't see the method as cost effective.

I wonder if Origin support could help you? You should see your cd key to Alice from Steam...

The cd key from Steam says it's already been activated on another account (I made a new account to try it out), so I'm not sure where to go from there.

I think what he's saying is to contact Origin Support, and to use a screenshot of the CD-Key given on Steam to as proof of purchase, so that they know you actually bought it or something.

You need origin for Alice? o O
I remember buying and playing it without origin ever coming into the picture.

EA/Origin accounts are called the same thing, but you don't need Origin to play the game. Origin does auto-detect the game though.

You need to get your account info back, not buy another copy of the game. Talk with EA support and prove you own that game. -.-
