I think it really depends. I think uniforms have their pros and cons.

But parents will have to splash a lot of money buying clothes for them!

Well, parents still have to buy pretty expensive uniforms, kinda struggling too if not looking for "normal size" I guess.
We don't have uniforms here, maybe in some private schools but it's rare. I didn't have one and really hate this idea so I don't want that for my kids either, free choice :p

I'm too, and it wasn't really easy back then to find some clothes, so if I had to put an uniform, considering the "sizes standards" here at the time, it surely would have been a nightmare x)

It is up to them and I am glad it works like that in our country. Uniform has pros, but still I am glad we can wear whatever we want.

You mean you can choose to wear OR not?

Nope, there are no uniforms at all. But would be fair if uniforms would be like option. If someone wants to use them, then no problem, but noone should force you for them. But I must say sometimes in your country there are some amazing uniforms I really like.

Thanks!

I would have to say that it depends on the uniform. If the uniform looks smart and isn't too expensive then by all means but if it looks stupid or really breaks the bank than I'd rather my kid would just wear their own clothes.

Hahaha, I think most uniforms look stupid xD In my country - there is only 2-3 types (and they are due to religion differences? I don't wear some of them because I am a Chinese). I am from a Muslim country sooooooooooooooooooo.....they are conservative:)

Whaaaaaaaaaaat? How can you hate them?
I didn't wear any, but I can imagine they are nice.
They make you equal to others and you don't have to think what clothes you have to buy for school just to not get bullied for that.

I'd rather see my daughter in a uniform than in a skirt that doesnt even cover her whole butt anymore.
Free choice has it's advantages, but when i see 12yrs running around in clothes like this, i think not only twice, but thrice.
Besides, sadly not safe in my country anymore. If you wanna know WHY, throw me a PM...

I think he means normal clothes that cover the body. Not today as most is open....
Today you have to murder nearly every male one due how 'hot' girls dress... before only a few.

Exactly. If there's a dress code, my daughter would be forced to wear a proper, LONG skirt.
Otherwise she would get thrown from school.
SO, i wouldn't be the father that gets hated for forbidding her to dress unproper. (and trust me, today many girls WANT to dress sexy,
(and some end up dressed like a "cheap" whore) MUCH too early, at least in europe.)

SO, NO free choice for dressing. As i would not want to be in SEVERE arguments with my daughter
(they simply don't understand about many dangers today - how should they?
i mean, WE have been the same when we once were still in school - we just didn't believe many things our parents warned us about.
Until some, sadly, have to pay a severe price (sadly happening on an almost daily base in Austria, especially in Germany)
I thought different a few years ago, more liberal, but reality made me chang my mind,
and this would make me boringly conservative, when it comes to my own daughter (i don't have... YET).
