Never watched the show, but I used to play the NES version all the time with my neighbor. We got through most of the game before realizing you could jump on your pogo stick :/

Especially I love that Donald is back in the reboot (as in the comics the show was based on)

I used to read a ton of Ducks comics when I was young. My collection of magazines (in French "Picsou Magazine", "Super Picsou Géant", "Le Journal de Mickey" and "Mickey Parade") was stored in my closet. I once measured the piles : I had a collection that went a little bit more than 3 meters high.
I love Scrooge McDuck, I love Donald, I love/meh the triplets (depends on the stories, I used to prefer when they were active members of the Junior Woodchucks). I also love some of the enemies, especially Flintheart Glomgold and Magica De Spell.
I especially love the comics of Don Rosa : wonderful drawing, and the best epic stories.

However, I didn't like the original DuckTales show when I was young.
First, it was so damn hard for me to watch it, as I didn't have the best channels. I could see an episode once every solar eclipse on a channel of the neighbour country on poor quality, and that was only on holidays, as for strange reasons, the best shows for children were between 9 and 11, when kids are at school... So basically, I saw maybe 5 episodes of this show.
Second, I didn't like the French dub. And at that time, no computer to watch them in English on streaming.
Third : I disliked Webby.

Now I'm 27, and I watch the reboot, and this is so, so good. I was sceptical at first, before the launch : the drawing seemed quite strange or even bad to me, and I was afraid for your same reasons. Seemed like a reboot that would copy the original. How wrong I was.
It's super funny, it's fresh, it's clever, it's energetic. It's a masterpiece. All characters are brilliant and crazy, and finally I'm in love with Webby.
And this opening and full song... Pure gold.

I didn't think the reboot would be good, but if you say so, will check it out.
I though the same about gravity falls at first, I suppose this generation's writers are a cut above?
