After Covini design the C6W -- a sports coupe with 6 wheels -- BMW decided to up the ante, and designed the BMW 4219 Eli (picture below), a powerful 12-wheel motorsport racer which was so dominant at circuits like Talladega, Daytona and Indianapolis, it actually got banned from participating in such races ever again.
