It happens all the time. GTA V was always a popular one.
Occasionally someone makes a new account for a big give away, just to surprise people when it is real.
For a while I noticed quite a few of those giveaway that looked like people were actually trying to win the game, not so much intentional trolls. But I feel like nowadays there are so many questions about the GA you are making that it is hopefully harder to totally misunderstand the site

Does that really happen? I don't think I've ever seen a troll giveaway. Though it's probably because I don't check on a entered giveaway unless I win.
