Silly excuses to hate a game

People bash games because of 3 reasons.
1) They just don't like the concept, so why not bash it?
2) They don't understand the realism of the story and the game itself.
3) They just think that because the game does not offer what they think it does it is terrible...

The best example for the third reason is my favorite one. When people hear "Assassin" they always think of a stealthy killer... But an Assassin is not a stealthy killer, but a killer with motives. Snipers can be assassins, ninjas can also be assassins, everyone can be an assassin, with or without stealthyness, and that's why I never take seriously people who say that Assassin's Creed's newest game take the assassin role too far away from what is was in the first games... Like they couldn't brutally kill anyone...

Apart from the first one, the others you listed are valid issues to be pointed out in those games.

The way they express those points might be wrong, but not the issues themselves.

There's nothing wrong with being attracted to 15-16 year old females and/or accentuating their sexuality in characters it's precisely because the censoring is so small and pointless that makes it even sillier and prude. First reason being artistic vision, second being catering to narrow-minded views. How hypocritical is it when adults complain about the sexuality of teenage characters being pointed out, when that's all they could think of at that age themselves, and it's what their body is designed to do?

Sure, MGSR is their first time ever working on a PC game/port, so they're excused, but the problems are still there, and people can point them out so that they can be addressed in future games/ports.

One of my friends makes fun of me for playing side-scrollers and old games. Funny thing, he starts playing all this modern games, only to abandon them half-way through (or even at the very beginning). At least I play my games from start to finish.

The best thing is when someone is bad in some game and calling it bad sice he suck...

If you want shit loads of silly excuses, go watch some reviews of Duke Nukem Forever. The only good review that exists in the whole world for this game is from PCgamers website. "HERP DERP DA JUMPING ANIM IS BAD 0/10 !!! EBRERBER I LOVE COD EHRHER" " OH LOOK ! ONE BLUR TEXTURE IN THE WHOLE GAME 0/10 EHEHRHERHER THESE ARE TOO IN GTA 5 BUT 10/10 HEHEHH " " NOT OLD SCHOOL ENOUGH 0/10 " " TOO OLD SCHOOL 0/10 " and i could go on FOREVER ;)
(btw, not particularly a COD hater while i don't like the series because it's always the same, and i have GTA 5 and i like it, i just used those two examples because they are OVER RATED ASS games ...)

The gender argument.

Basically the idea that if a game doesnt feature only a strong female protagonist that the game is sexist and therefore evil.

Or if it features any female at any point in less than a strong and powerful leadership position its sexist.

Or if it dares try to tell a story that doesnt feature strong female protagonists its sexist (just ask the dev of the puppeteer about this one).

Its gotten to the point where if you even so much as critique the idea you can be flamed for days on end for no reason and is the absolute dumbest reason to hate a game ive ever come across.

Graphics are a legitimate reason to dislike a game; Look at Deadly Premonition and then tell me you don't have a problem with the graphics.

The community is a legitimate reason to dislike a game; if you can't play a game singleplayer, than if the primary playerbase that you'd be forced to play with/against are a bunch of terrible assholes, it will negatively impact your experience with the game.

Story is a very legitimate reason to dislike a game given that, well, it's literally half of the reason you're even playing the game in the first place (with the other half being gameplay); that one's rather straightforward and I'm not sure why anyone would even try to dispute it. XD

On the other hand, I met someone once who skipped the entire Tomb Raider series because Lara's name reminded him of a real dirtbag he couldn't stand from his early schooldays whose surname was "Croft". This, perhaps, is not a legitimate reason to dislike a game. (although as I type this I realize he never said he disliked the games, just that he avoided them, and that they might be very good indeed, so whatever.)

Being bad at it. There are some games that might be too difficult. Understandably, if you try your best, and really try to understand the gameplay, and still can't get it, you probably won't like the game, and that's okay. But if you hop into a game, try to play it wrong, and then complain about it, the problem is with you.
