The same old stuff again and again... i have contributed once and decided not to do that again once i won something; Then all 'unlucky' entries have 30+ cv requirement.
Beyond a smaller part of users, who have a nice budget, how many do lots of giveaways before gaining anything? I don't want to sound bitter, its just not logical for me: the more people into creating giveaways the better, still most only catter to those who already are active givers. Those wont giveaway more and more then what they already do, giving chance to more people would be interesting.
In my case im into a tight budget; Surely some of it is left for gaming, but different then most active givers its quite heavy for me giving away(and no, i don't want to enter the bundled giveaways bandwagon only for cv).
In short: for me(and others im sure) making a giveaway means one less game(that i want) i could own. In hope of perhaps, if lucky, i will be online when some nice giveaway is made without skyhigh cv entries. The choice is clear, so that means one less person doing giveaways.
Maybe im wrong but it seens odd that the most benefited on giveaways are the people with less need for them. Maybe if games were cheaper around here(Brazil) things would be different, i don't know.
Thanks for the intention, but i can't jump in (once again).

A) Games are cheap in Brazil.
B) You don't need videogames, no one does.
C) I'm living with a bit less than 650€/month. I have to pay food, acommodation and tuitions with that money. I still have managed to make a decent share of giveaways, so don't tell me you are in a tight budget.
D) It's their game, it's their rules. Period.
E) This is not a trading site, contributions are not investments nor anything of the sort. Contribute if you want or if you can't but don't make lame excuses.
Also I don't like that passive-agressive speech of yours.

While I sympathize to some extent, I also understand the reasons behind the restrictions. Once upon a time, I, too, was new to this site. My CV started at zero, just like everyone else's, and I couldn't afford to spend money on giveaways simply to raise my CV. (Heck, I still can't.) Over time, however, I did learn a few things.
1) It is expected that any CV requirement will start with $0.01 (to exclude leechers) or $31 (to exclude "bundles").
2) Anyone can spend a dollar or two to buy a bundle giveaway and get $30 in CV. I did not, but that's my choice.
3) The most cost-efficient way of raising your CV is to buy a four-pack of a game on sale for 75% off (or more).
Yes, things are "tough" when you're just starting out on SG, but by the time you get to where you can enter any giveaway you like because you've been here long enough, you will see that most "minimum requirements" are quite reasonable. Until then, be patient. You aren't really missing out on that much.

Meow ^_^ Sleepy Your So Nice ! I wish people would read though :/

Meh I am going to enter anyways.
You do realize they won't do a reroll for you for adding arbitrary rules like this?
If you want to restrict it to that subset of users, make a private group, have them app to the group with a link to their profile and check it to accept them.

He got them approved by mods, dumbarse. Welcome to many blacklists.

Where is their post sanctioning it retard?
And I give a flying fuck about your blacklist? No.
Hey guiz I am gonna start requiring only super kewl kidz who aren't self righteous white knight faggots enter my giveaways sorry DeltaBladeX you don't qualify.
But I will withdraw my entry, because it would be nice for someone new to win something I suppose. But I still think it's a bit stupid to do it that way. He should just make a private group.

Yay, I'm a bunch of sticks :D
And seriously, after doing nearly 400 giveaways here, including similar giveaways in the past, you believe Sleepy won't know the rules about private giveaway rules? He knows them. And I'm going to point out one little thing to you. You don't need to say the mods confirmed them, you just need their permission.
Now, go on with your childish insults, the kind I'd expect from a 12 year old with a 360 headset, while trying to threaten me with a group that would result in failure. I already have a group for some of the best people on Steamgifts. It has Khalaq, Mew, Bobofatt, Lina, it even has Sleepy.
It won't ever have you.

Here is their post sanctioning it... retard.

"Welcome to many blacklists."
Truth. I don't blacklist people that often, but I'll be adding this one. So much drama, all over a chance to win a single game. Goddamn. -_-

I hear ya, Bro. I don't even usually have a blacklist, but I'm oh so tempted to make one for this Hobo guy.

I actually made mine specifically for one person who came onto the forums asking why they didn't get more than 30$ worth of CV from the bundle games they gave away, and then went on a rampage after a few folks calmly explained things to them. It was a huge mess.
Haven't checked back to see if they're perma-banned, but no matter. I'm pretty sure that a good majority of gifters here have them blacklisted anyways. lol

Nice chance for the unlucky ones :D
Don't have to tell you to make sure these rules were approved with support, because most likely you will need to reroll.

I think people would only usually give away a game when they won one lol

Hey, I still plan to give away a game if I win one... D

Only 3 out of 8 entrants meet the requirements so far :/..

I'm currently discussing things with the mods and I'll be bumping it to cg's level when I next see him about suspending people who do not meet a giveaway's rules but enter anyway. Because this is fucking ridiculous and it's frustrating to watch as both a gifter and a mod as it wastes everyone's time rerolling the stupid people.
