We took FOREVER to figure out a name for ours (who is now 3 months old). In the end the only one we could agree on was Matthew.
There I suggest you use a different name than that :P

I could throw out a bunch random names, but it needs to somehow reflect you and your family.

If you want a more original name, that has biblical origins, I recommend Jethro. (That's the English version, but there are multiple translations for different cultures / religions)

Good luck!

Congrats. Got a daugther myself last week.
If a boy we would have gone with Christopher. But it's not.
GF preferred Damian, but I didn't, so that's what we agreed upon.

Maybe next one :)

Gz man, this is one of those moments that will be ever-lasting in your mind, now you are younger than ever, enthusiast with your baby, like a child, and older than ever, concerned about everything, like a father!

I like Alex and Diego, for your son, and if you get surprised by a girl, "Lluvia" would be a nice name. Ask your wife anyway, she will guide you!

Enjoy <3

I think I'll refrain from giving advices, haven't got the slightest idea about naming traditions in your region. Just want to congratulate you and wish for you son to be healthy and for your wife to have her labor as easy as possible.

Congrats!! ^^
I see in comments many Alex.
But I suggest my father's name. Maximo.

When he is a child you can call him Maxi.
When he is a teenager you can call him Max.
And when he is an adult you can call him Maximo.

Congratz for your baby boy ^^
He must bring joy and happiness for you and your family in this new year :)

Well, every time my sister ask me for character's name for her novel.
I always think it really depends on your (and, or family) religion, ethnic, tradition, etc
But Indonesia has many common names that have good meaning.

I love these names:

  • Abinaya Mahendra [insert family name] : Abi -> Semangat yang sebesar gunung/bukit or Semangat raja yang bijak/sabar.
  • Alvaro Januar Adriansyah : Aro, Yanu, Adrian, Ian -> Seorang lelaki dengan kebijaksanaan/keadilan yang besar dan benar/syah.
  • Ervin Talenta Himawan: Ervin, Iwan, Awan -> Lelaki yang tampan dan diberi banyak bakat serta memiliki keteguhan hati.
    ....
    Tbh I'm still on "A" atm :v

Well, if you want some specific name from Javanese, Sundaish, Arab/Turkish, Western, Japanese, Sanskrit, etc will make it easier to find one :)

You could always name him after yourself. Its very common practice to honor the father that way, so you could name him Jake, or Jacob.

Well, There goes my suggestions:

Héctor - Spanish form of that greek name. It means "holder".

Aitor - A spanish (basque) name. In that old language, it means something like "that one who is my first child"

I checked where you were from (used Steam) and tried to find names from that country, since English names or names from my country (Portugal) might seem weird to suggest.

I don't know much about Indonesian names, so I'm sorry if suggest something weird or some name that might be offensive (it's not my intention).

I like short names, so after seeing some names and their meaning I would suggest:

ADI (2) m Indonesian
Means "first" in Indonesian, ultimately from Sanskrit आदि (adi).

AGUS m Indonesian
Variant of BAGUS (Means "handsome, excellent" in Indonesian).

CAHYA m & f Indonesian
Variant of CAHAYA (Means "light" in Malay and Indonesian).

EKA (1) m & f Indonesian
Means "one, first" in Indonesian, ultimately from Sanskrit एक (eka).

LUTFI m Arabic, Indonesian
Means "kind, gentle" in Arabic.

But most of all, congratulations! May he bring you much joy and may you fulfill his life with good things.
