1. Make sure is not a name that is too strange or hard to pronounce and spell. You might be thinking of a "cool" name because of meaning or story and condemn your child to a life of having to clarify and correct people. It's not pretty.

2. There are name that get popular for a while because of a TV show, a book or something like that. Try to find which names are trending in your region and stay clear of those.
