Congrats for your first born! (。◕‿◕。)

I would go with one of the ancient Greek names. There are plenty of choices and some of them, though may sound weird to foreigners, can be matched with a cool nickname like Ulysses --> Uly , which is a possibly stupid example cause it sounds cool only if you're russian :p

Actually I have the same name as my dad and the dad of my dad and the dad of the dad of my dad. So if you have problems with the name could name him as the same as you or her as the same as her.

Ariel - lion of god (can be either male or female)
Joshua - God is salvation
AKIO m Japanese
From Japanese 昭 (aki) meaning "bright, luminous" combined with 夫 (o) meaning "man, husband", 男 (o) meaning "male" or 雄 (o) meaning "hero, manly". Other kanji combinations are possible.

I also recommend using this website: http://www.behindthename.com/names/gender/masculine/usage/japanese

Anyways, congratulations on being a daddy, God bless you!

Hope that everything went smoothly.. :3

Theodore - Derived from the Latin Theodorus, which is from the Greek Theodōros, a compounding of the elements theos (god) and dōron (a gift): hence, "God's gift."

I'd be happy to think about the name, but maybe first say what sounds (consonants / vowels) are known to be difficult for people in Indonesia to pronounce, so that I can look for a name which doesn't have those sounds.

it's pretty risky asking people online for such stuff... I'm too lazy to read through all the comments but has anyone suggested something totally dumb like sir Poopington the Third or other Batman or Dovahkiin?
IMHO you should aim for something traditional for your region/culture just so your kid's name doesn't sound weird and off. Otherwise when he goes to school kids might make fun of him or treat him like a weirdo. Just don't hurt your child like this...
Anyway thanks for the train :)

Hi congratulation for your first born :)
I was in your position in 2015, now i have a little girl who celebrate his 1 year :)
At first , i wanted a boy and my girlfriend too, we were agreed to name him : Solal , it's origin is Hebrew and it means "The guide" or "the one who clears a path" and we love this name. But we learn that it was a girl and we have no idea at first for a girl :D
Then we found a name : Opale, origin Sanskrit it means "precious stone".
Et voilà :)

Congratulations! I'd like to suggest the name "Johann". It is is a short form of the name Johannes, which derives from the hebrew Yochanan and has the meaning "blessed by God". Don't know why, but this comes from my guts ;)
