Did you know that pistachios can spontaneously combust? As a basic principle, a high oil content (especially in pistachio kernels) encourages the tendency to self-heating. :}

A cool baking tip, if you cook cookies with bread flour instead of just standard flour- they stay chewy, even after they have cooled down. i found that out by accident one day when i was making cookies and didnt have normal flour.

Puttanesca, here in Italy, is called like this because the inventor cooked it for the first time in a whorehouse.

In brownie recipes, you can substitute the oil with apple sauce.

Also, the easiest and best peanut butter cookie recipe I know, is 1 cup pb, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg.

ALSO, there are two 'bitterness' tasting genes that not everyone has. Regular folks might inherit 0 or 1, but some folks have the misfortune to become 'super bitter tasters' by inheriting both, and results in them tasting bitterness in foods others do not experience it in at all (such as cabbages, celery, brusselsprouts, etc).
