It is hard to chose just one song.
So I will share a story with a song instead.
2023 february a huge disaster happened in Turkey. I volunteered there as a search and rescue member and as a translator for foreign medical teams.
I stayed there for almosta month and I celebrated my birthday there.
I think it was my birthday week. I woke up and checked my phone.
This song was sent by my girlfriend.
I cried and sang it from inside until I go back

PS: I have zero idea where is the train :D

It's a tough one, but I'd have to say Emerald Sword by Rhapsody of Fire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oupD5I_CG-s

Bright Size Life by Pat Metheny, first time I heard the amazing bassist Jaco Pastorius on this track blew my mind

The intro reminded me a bit to the Great Pretender opening, but more calmed, love when bass has that presence <3

Congrats on reaching level 7 and the generosity of the train! Musically I'm not much of a connoisseur but I like what I like even if most people who know me think my tastes are about 30-40 years out of date.
I suppose if there's songs I'd like to hear again for the first time, the main one would be A Day in the Life by the Beatles https://youtu.be/usNsCeOV4GM . Listening to Sgt Pepper (along with Abby Road and Revolver, it's one of my fave Beatles albums) for the first time as a young teenager I was taken completely by surprise by the song, it wasn't like anything I'd heard before, so discordant but strangely appealing at the same time.
Another couple are just pure nostalgia for me probably https://youtu.be/gJLIiF15wjQ & https://youtu.be/YZG7z4FOn0g In hindsight '96 was a really great year for me, not that I realised it that much at the time (isn't that always the way? 🤔) and afterwards things began changing substantially for me. Whenever I hear these songs I'm instantly back there in simpler times. Even that blasted Macarena song (which I heard last week for the first time in nearly 20 years!) has a similar effect (no I won't inflict that link on you 😛).

My song is FCPREMIX by Fall of Troy. The first time I heard it it kind of blew my mind. Such a great song. Speaking of great, this was a great train, thanks!

THIS ONE! First time I heard it playing Guitar Hero I was blown away and I still love it. The delay at the beginning, the sound quality, the whole composition, the breakdown... Ah, a masterpiece, they were super ahead, thanks for bringing this one up <3

Many songs by Supertramp, but if I had to choose one, I'm torn between Another man's woman and Crime of the century

Interesting idea for a thread. It'll be fun to go through everyones picks.
It thought this one would be difficult for me, but after a moment something jumped straight out to me : Hanezeve Caradhina from the Made In Abyss soundtrack. So maybe I'll get clowned on for picking a tune from an anime, but the unexpected airy beauty that gradually becomes so driven, and remembering the mysterious visuals of the Abyss that accompanied the track? It's a hell of a combo.
Anybody considering watching Made In Abyss after this? Go in blind. Don't risk looking at even screenshots. But do brace for a bit of squick.

Octavarium by Dream Theater. It changed my perspective about music and encouraged me to listen to all kinds of genres.

Weird question.. not sure, probably just don't care about music that much... I have been playing the same 20-30 somethings song on loop, I don't really listen to them, they are just like white noise for me.
But just for the sake of answering, maybe "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".

At first i wanted to say Numb by Linkin Park but decided to choose something that's not insanely famous. So i decided to to stick with a song that i really liked recently and it showed me that i can still find new awesome music (for my picky taste) if i look hard enough.

Recently, I somehow reached level 7, so I'll use it as an excuse to start a little train. The real question is, which song would you like to listen to for the first time again? For whatever reason: how it made you feel, what it means to you, you just liked it... whatever. In my case, I would say Dead Butterflies by Architects. I don't know, it has like a wide "aura" that really gets to you, someone was chopping onions for some reason. Of course, not a song for everyone, but that's how music works!
Train ends the 12th of July @ 23:59
Quick blacklist check
EDIT: Loving how the thread is going so far, lots of new music to discover! I forgot about Loathe - Babylon..., as someone said in the comments, "the perfect soundtrack to the end of the world". It caught me by surprise how it made me feel like a small point in a whole galaxy, if that makes any sense.
HINT: Check the link
