Derek Trucks Band - I'll Find My Way
The entire 2006 Songlines album is a treasure. If I could only listen to a single album, that would be the one. My other favorites from the album include "I Wish I Knew (How It Would Feel to be Free)" (Billy Taylor/Dick Dallas cover) and "This Sky," but I'd never skip any of its 12 tracks.

I'd like to listen Opeth for the first time again (and have some of the joy I have left behind on my teenager years). But this one, the title scream midway of the song still gives me chivers. The first time I listened to this scream... damn. So beautiful.

Ashes to Ashes from David Bowie. There are so many answers to the question, but Ashes to Ashes was one of the first to come to mind.

Thanks for the GA's and the songs.
My choice is for Loreena McKennitt - The Old Ways for me has something... spiritual about it.
Bump!

There, There - Radiohead
It still got me goosebumps, so even after the first time it is a great song.

So many options! Music has always been a huge part of my life, and many important memories have songs attached to them.
Nova - VNV Nation: Honestly, I could probably put half of VNV's songs here (Illusion, Standing, Before the Rain, Joy, Perpetual...). So much of their music just resonates with me on a lot of levels. "Nova" is the one that keeps filtering to the top, though. There are few songs that can fill me with emotion like this one does, even after listening to it regularly for over a decade. I have so many memories tied up with this one now - mostly too private to share here, but all very good. (And I highly recommend catching VNV live if you get the chance. Ronan never fails to put on a master class on how to engage with and show appreciation for a crowd!)
Rhythm of Time - Front 242: This one isn't so much about the song itself, but the moment it defined in my life. As a young teenager, I would often stay up to listen to a local radio dj that played a lot of brand new music late at night, since that was one of the only ways to find anything new back then. This song comes on one night, and I am utterly blown away. I grew up listening to a lot of 80s synth bands and had an obsession with video game music as a kid, so I pretty much always had an interest in electronic music. But this was COMPLETELY different from anything I'd heard before. From anything I'd even conceived of. I was quickly tracking down anything I could find from the band, and not long after I was deep into the EBM and industrial music scene, and opened up to harder music like metal. It was the first moment in my life where I let go of what was "safe" and dove into something purely for myself, not caring what family, friends, or anyone else might think. It took me to some strange, dark places. It was how I learned that I LIKE strange, dark places. Being able to have that feeling of stepping into a brand new world again isn't something I could put a price on.

Oh my, the first seconds of Nova made me think "Okay I'll enjoy this one more laying down and looking at the ceiling" and I was right. Absolutely fantastic, it was a heartwarming experience, like a hug directly to my soul. Thanks for sharing it <3

You're welcome! I think it's a really special song. The part where the music swells after the intro and breaks into the first chorus still gets me every time. So glad you enjoyed it!

That's quite a ride, thank you! 🚂🚂🚂
Now for the music, I'd choose My Everything everyday of the week.
This instrumental version is played by the accompanying band of the late Glenn Fredly, one of the best (if not the best) singer for me. You can search the lyrics online, if you want, but I prefer instrumental version
This song is one of his early hits back in 2005 and still played by many on several occasions by our local musicians. Lyrics are simple, of course, but the way his band plays this is just really good, it's like they're playing with, and for Glenn. Beautiful.

Wolf Like Me by TV on the Radio! Never heard anything quite like it before, and it instantly made me want to listen to their other songs. They became one of my favorite bands and that song is still my number one

Recently, I somehow reached level 7, so I'll use it as an excuse to start a little train. The real question is, which song would you like to listen to for the first time again? For whatever reason: how it made you feel, what it means to you, you just liked it... whatever. In my case, I would say Dead Butterflies by Architects. I don't know, it has like a wide "aura" that really gets to you, someone was chopping onions for some reason. Of course, not a song for everyone, but that's how music works!
Train ends the 12th of July @ 23:59
Quick blacklist check
EDIT: Loving how the thread is going so far, lots of new music to discover! I forgot about Loathe - Babylon..., as someone said in the comments, "the perfect soundtrack to the end of the world". It caught me by surprise how it made me feel like a small point in a whole galaxy, if that makes any sense.
HINT: Check the link
