Sounds rather lame considering the coupons but hey if you pay 99 bucks now and you pause 10 months out of 12, you're actually paying 99 bucks for 3 years or more so that's a bargain :P

I'm fine with selective payments, no need to pay everything upfront. Did that before and it wasn't the best Choice (pun intended).

How do I figure out how many months I have left in my subscription? I can't buy another one because I already have one active -_-

upd. nevermind, found it - https://www.humblebundle.com/user/subscriptions/humble_monthly/billing

upd. 2 - you have to "gift it" and redeem it yourself to just add credits to your existing choice subscription, otherwise it doesn't let you

Sameish problem as last year - always had terrible luck with coupons, and bought basically every month. Do I trust my luck and test my patience for about a dollar a month - maximum? Unlikely :D

This gives you 12 months for 7,75€ per month (93€ altogether for EU). If you switch to paying on monthly basis, you'll have to get something better than 2€ off every month you want to buy, since that's just 8€. I'd say it's worth it, and if you really want to skip a bad month (which you can), you could always go to group buys to get the 1 or 2 games you want out ot that particular month.

93€ per year isn't bad, true. But I checked what I paid for the last 12 months and that was just 69,5€, without skipping any month.
The most expensive was August with 7,5€, the cheapest were December 22/January 23 with 4€.
But if Adam really is that unlucky with his coupons ...

That is a huge difference... and I got no coupons at all during my annual sub, so I only have "2 years ago" as a base year to calculate with.
I'm leaning towards skipping the deal

This deal in Australia only gives $23 Australian off which is close to $15 USD instead of the $30 USD. Which is a pretty bad deal since last time they ran this we got the full discount.

Only $21NZ (11%) off here, to $168NZ from $189NZ .
Looks like Humble matched the discounted price ($99US) when converting regional pricing, rather than the discount percentage (23%) or amount ($30US).

If they'd gone with the percentage conversion ($146NZ), I'd have been tempted - that'd be ~$12NZ/mth, which is roughly the average coupon price over the last year - but at $14NZ/mth I'll take my chances on coupons.

Bought this plan in 2021, November, and if I didn't quit the bundle game this year in May, I would probably have 6 credits now, given that this month would probably be the only one that I would actually use my credits on to redeem a lot of stuff. So, kinda one of the stupidest decision I made. But I was into trading and just getting new games for the sake of getting them back then. But in all fairness, the prices is a steal for the amount of quality you can get if you don't have a gaint library like many of us. About one AAA Game Day 1 price + a bit extra for a max of 86 games if you redeem all of them. That's as low as what, €1.08 per game if you redeem all of them, with some of them even being AAA games. No sale price will ever beat that.

Bookmarked for later, since the offer is until the end of the year, maybe I'll gift it to myself for Christmas if nothing else interesting comes on.

In case it hasn't been mentioned before: it's €93 for Europeans, or €7.75 per month. Definitely not an option for me. I haven't bought any Choice since January and I also stopped pausing and completely cancelled at some point. As far as I am concerned, every month is worse than the previous one and their most recent bundles didn't even even have a single game that was interesting enough for me to try out.

You can get better prices if you keep pausing each month and waiting for the lowest coupon at the end of the month, but that seems like it'd become a headache with sales since you lose your store discount as soon as you hit pause and don't regain it until you resume. $8.25 a month without needing to deal with the tediousness of pausing for coupons seems like a decent compromise if you frequently make use of the store discount.

Last year there was a 10% cash back deal from rakuten + I had 3% cash back on credit card as well. I'll wait and see if something similar pops up this year. (USA)

I don't remember how many times I've paused the last year, 1 or 2. In any case I can still buy it as a gift, and when my sub expires, activate the gift in my own account, right?

Pause (in small survey pick correct answer why you are pausing :P ) , wait... In 2 or 3 weeks after that check inventory - coupon could be there (sometimes they didn't send the mail). For me - I've got coupons 2 months in row - before I bought Choice for standard price

P.S. Actually I'm not sure why I'm waiting for coupon... The price is 10 euro, last month I've got Choice for 4,5 euro, but... Each week I go to office - 8,2 euro for commuting, 8 euro - lunch in office, so in a month I spend 65 euro just to visit office (visiting is not required, but just to change workplace...). So I'm not sure why should I wait for the coupon :D

Have an account and have a luck... I think no one will provide you guide like "click here, buy that..." it depends on hidden algorithms and sometimes coupon will be granted without any purchases or you have huge list of purchases and HB will not send you any offer...
If you subscriber (month-to-month plan), pause and wait - they can send you coupon or will not send it (and no one will tell you why they do that (offer or not))

After years of buying the monthly i am skipping this one, paused so many this year that i still have till june 2024.. probably pause a few more.. and tbh if there is really a month with a must have i can even buy it considering it as a bundle that would even overall be cheaper as using the last months as probably wont play +1 for my library...

I wouldn't be surprised if this indicates a slight bump in monthly sub cost next year. Or reigning in on the coupon discounts.

My thoughts exactly. They were getting more stingy on the enticement coupons whence going for a pause in my case, and seeing a bump in price, or lesser degree of discount if you prefer, for the yearly subscription, in conjunction of seeing the death of the 1 dollar tiers and what not, I'm inclined to belief that the frequency of coupons and their amount of discount is possibly going to be reigned in as well.

Would love to be proven wrong in favor of our penny pinchers who are banking on the 6 dollar coupons to roll out regularly, however, 8.25USD per chosen month in this yearly subscription, is not bad of a deal, so all things considered, I went ahead and bought the subscription.

If you don't buy the annual membership as a gift, it will automatically redeem the current month if not yet bought.

When redeeming the gift it also redeems the current month. The correct way is to buy it as a gift and only redeem it when you want to buy the current month.
