Somebody has good taste in music. Love this album.
Natural talent - but he seemed to work hard on vocal technique especially as Kamelot evolved (though I couldn't listen to Kamelot once The Ghost Opera came out - I don't know what the heck happened...). I'm not sure if it is just me, or the style of the production, or something else... I always thought the transformation was pretty nice to listen to over time though. At any rate, I always really liked his Conception work though!

Yeah I have to agree, Metallica was the shit back in the 80s and early 90s, even Lars Ulrich was a badass drummer then.
What do you really think of Cliff Burton? I mean you are a bassist yourself and can judge him better than me.
I do really like John Entwistle aka The Ox aka Thunderfingers and Steve Di Giorgio. Steve manages to play fretless bass in a style that I would call creepy. Fretless bass is really cool, tho.
Do you happen to know Joe Lester from Intronaut? Great Prog-Metal band with lots of Jazz-Fusion chops. Joe Lester also plays fretless bass flawlessly.

I think Cliff Burton died too tragically and early to know, but he had incredible potential, at least for a real metal bassist at the time.... I enjoy playing old Metallica, though the difficulty factor isn't all that high. The first 2 or 3 albums were really moving in a good direction though.... So yeah, once he left the band, I think that was the beginning of the end of something that could've been very good, but the glue fell out. He wasn't bad though, but it wasn't extreme by any means at the point he left....
My favorite bassist is still definitely Franck Hermanny - no contest for me as far as overall mastery of the instrument with every technique I can imagine personally... If you know French... this is perhaps useful. But not necessary by any means... to see the skillage. Pretty much everything possible in there... or somewhere else where's he done it, and gone beyond. ;) Skipping around you can see some cool shit - and his youtube channel is full of mind-boggling stuff.
Joe Lester. I like his sound on that bass! It's nice! ;)

I will no longer bump this if this isn't enough to satisfy requirements and I will await further replies as to what is fair etiquette for this type of thing... I will, however respond to those who post here as a kindness to others - not for a bump, but as service work I feel bound by, in my decisions to do so.
Anyway, pontification aside, I tried to literally spell it out in the topic header to make good on it and officialize it (aside from this reply, and my final post at this moment). I will also report others bumping their own threads, and doing the same thing... to keep you all busy during the holidays <3 :D
How long as an acceptable time-frame to bump your own thread? For my own reference, and to report others... Also what is an acceptable topic to create music in, if this topic I now have doesn't meet such conditions in its upgraded new version format? What exactly does?

I'd rather not write a ticket for this, but I can just copypasta it there instead if that's how it needs to be... as I will be writing plenty of tickets soon enough once I learn more, and gather the information I need to arm myself. Knowledge is power. Right now I lack that - and I hope you all (support+) as guides can provide such assistance that has been lacking as of late with some issues...

There is no guidelines "how often can you reply in your own thread to bump it". Use your best judgement.
Generally if no one else replies in your thread, you should not bump it constantly to keep it on top of. When people like content and want to interact with it, they will bump it for you. And you're free to answer them to discuss something.
I'd personally bump my thread no more than once per 24h, if no one else bumps it. But when I try to bump thread 2 - 3 times, and no one responds - it's visible sign users are not interested in it's content, and I cease to bump it.
I checked threads I created in the past, I never bumped it just to bump it. It was only as reply to other user messages:

That's exactly what I thought. When somebody says to me:

That sounds a lot like they're telling me I'm breaking a rule. Now... what's the rule? Please answer, so I know. Otherwise I am still unsure and confused and in the dark. There is nothing to even go over with this otherwise. I am violating nothing. I'd like to speak to your superior please... I feel I need more guidance than you can offer me at this point, since there has been no clear-cut direction being given.

Neither did I. I did it because I like music. This is just as easily abusable by asking others to bump your topic for you, off of steamgifts... and then replying to each response over and over.... I could name dozens of other tactics one could easily use to abuse the system in place here. I'll be replying every half hour instead of posting music every hour then I guess. This social experiment is becoming better and better each day, and I'm shooting holes through every glaring weakness we have going on here with sad pathetic steamgifts... so I thank you for adding to and showing what a gaping wound steamgifts has that ... once again nobody is patching up because of laziness or uncaring attitudes about anything but enforcing non-rules... Meanwhile the community bleeds to death while we add little band-aids that are not fixing the deep gash that is slowly leaking the remaining life-force out of what could be great, but... simply isn't great. It's being swept under the rug and ignored. WHY?
This is just going to open "Pandora's Bump Box" until somebody decides they want to not be lazy and create some actual rules on this site!

Thanks for sharing your bump threads, but if there are no hard rules it is completely and utterly useless to our discussion and irrelavent. I could personally care less, on offense meant. But I honestly do not care about the threads of others. I don't want comparisons. I want rules - numbers - raw data! We are different.... Rules are necessary, or else these weaknessesare going to be continually exploited/broken until somebody with more power decides to stop being lazy and do something about it!!

World does not work that way, and you're well aware of that. Guidelines on the internet (and law in real life) can't be always precise to the pinpoint accuracy how often can you bump your post. Otherwise rules on every single website would be as long as Oxford English Dictionary is.
As I wrote - use your brain and decide it yourself. You did good job while maintaining your Lyme Awareness Thread for over 2 years, I don't understand why right now you lost this ability.
Some things can be pinpoint accurate:
- you did not activate game you won - 5 days suspension
- you regifted you win - it will be deleted from your sent giveaways
- you activated game and didn't leave feedback - it will be manually adjusted
But vast majority of situations don't fall under it. That's why for example we have minimal and maximal sentence length. Nowhere is listed hit someone once with shovel - 10 years / hit someone 2 - 3 times with shovel and laugh while doing so - 15 years. You always have judge that decides on sentence length, basing it on dozens of factors. You may even kill someone and don't go to prison, as it will be decided you acted in self defense (again - judge decision, not pinpoint accurate list of written conditions that must happen) . But kill someone in self defense (which is fine, you won't go to prison for that), and later tie their body to car and drag them on the road - you will go to prison.
Same on the internet. Call someone moron when conversation gets more heated up, and you will be fine (even when you should refrain from doing so, personal attacks are no way to have discussion). Start to insult someone with your every 2nd word and you will get suspended. You may use few curse words and get away with it once. But when you were previously poked to not behave like that, and keep repeatedly drop insults (not enough to be suspended immediately), you will get suspended bit later.

There is no "glaring weakness" here. Every single site use system I described above. Short guidelines that covers as much as it can without starting to be 10/20/30-pages long. And moderators / admins that use common sense to decide what's fine and what is not. If SG is broken here, then give me example of conversation forum, where guidelines lists how often and under what conditions can you bump your OP post.

Guidelines can't try to cover every single infraction scenario, and list it under "don't do this". Both because it'd be ridiculously long, and because it'd give people incentive to look for loopholes.

But let me just say I'm very glad that more websites/companies/governments/entities are not run with this mentality.
EDIT: just saw your response above. The shovel thing is maybe not a great analogy, because there was a law already that said it was unlawful to commit assault with a shovel. So the only thing that was in question was the specific penalty, based on the specific details of the crime.
In a way, you're sort of making my point for me. Imagine if we didn't have a law making it unlawful to commit assault? Imagine if the lawmakers had stopped after murder and rape and said "well, we can't possibly write laws to cover every scenario, even the ones that we're already thinking about, like assault. Guess we'll stop here and just figure out the assault cases when we see them."
OF COURSE websites can't write guidelines covering every single scenario. OF COURSE some are going to be nebulous, cloudy, vague, "use-your-judgment" cases.
But that shouldn't prevent websites from writing guidelines that cover the easily defined, well-known scenarios. And judging by your first comment, "don't post in your own threads more than once per hour in the absence of responses" is apparently a well-known (unwritten) rule.
I don't think it's crazy to suggest that it be made into a written rule.

If people used common sense here, I would not have been suspended. Support and mods should use more common sense. They're very willy-nilly because the rules mandate it be followed in a willy-nilly manner, and as a result you get chaos. I like order. For my suspension infraction, I was not even warned, nor were my tickets even commented on asking for more information (which is what my apparent "crime" was... hah!) - it was out of malice and vindictiveness because they know I'm correct and the site is shit and can have much better rules as of now. I'm being a light in the darkness, showing where there are problems. People are simply in denial, and cannot see literal flaws in the way it's been mismanaged here.
As a mod I always warned first before banning for any reason - unless it was so detrimental to the community I had to do so. There are very few instances that are that bad. Bumping is certainly not one to be "crying over spilled milk" about. Especially every hour, when I can abuse it and reply to every comment in less than an hour between if I want to... making the problem worse. I will be discussing that exploitation and other issues soon enough when I present my bugs/suggestions commentary.
Add rules that clearly state such, or somebody will always be upset about where that "grey area" falls under - it's an easy fix. Common sense is far too broad of a term, when it's perceptive, and some people find one thing acceptable and another finds something entirely different acceptable. For me, it's common sense to bump every hour, because that's only a few bumps a day, taking into account I don't bump exactly every hour, and also taking into account sleep, or other activities. I'm not on a time. Let's not go on judgement calls - that gives power to people who abuse it. Lawlessness will just continue to run rampant while passives decide they're okay with it when things can be better overall. That's kinda sad actually... I'm glad I believe in being proactive and making things better all the time. Never settling...
A ship full of tiny holes can be patched over and over, but it will eventually sink if left exposed and unattended. Simple philosophy of growth and change - creating progression to make things better for everybody. I will be pointing out more problems with steamgifts soon as well as it's inferred "Peter Principle" mentality when I have time after my event ends.
Would you rather see a thread bumped by OP once every hour, or replied to every 10 minutes? Which is actually more of a problem in your eyes? That's where our "common sense" gets us by the support's perspective. Please think about that critically for a moment. It's an easy answer, yet I was in the wrong... for thinking an hour is better than every 10 minutes via replies. I guess if that's common sense, I want no part of it.
There is still no answer to my original questions - because it's so vague that they haven't come up with anything better. It's downright lazy and pathetic, but whatever. There can't be an answer to something that is undefined.

Make others see the truth about things, and stop hiding behind these false ideals about being "good enough" when there is always room for positive and meaningful changes - but we have fundamentally lazy system here, and fundamentally flawed lazy viewpoints that are in agreement that the status quo is good enough. I will adapt as the rules change. But I will not conform to something not set in stone without clear boundaries.... just airing out my concerns. I am upset - and so I'm venting my overall frustrations with how the game is being played - and at a somewhat unfair pace. Let's hope we can get us a real rule book out of all this, instead of half-assed judgement calls... As peons... of course we are going to be at a definite disadvantage... but even in chess, a pawn can win the game. Or... be promoted to even a captured queen it reaches the other side!

Hmm... At first I just wanted to level! CV was so freaking important. Like it probably is for a lot of people. I bought into the pyramid scheme steamgifts is based on... and I went with it up to about 7 or 8. Then I got tired, and started giving away more non-bundle stuff in exclusive groups... and in another year later, it was 10 suddenly. Yippie! I guess. Not all I thought it'd be/was cracked up to be... I personally hardly ever give out 10+ giveaways, but once in a while I do. They're fairly rare in general. Most people are inclined to give at their own level or below, for some odd reason. It was a habit I had most of the time - however I gave out to every level early on and it became kinda mostly random? I think my favorite level was probably 7 for giving... but not particularly sure why.
So... yeah, when I learned about the small bundle groups (which are technically not allowed currently, but allowed still under the muddled ever-so-ambiguous point 7 in general guidelines under the help tab - which isn't a help at all hardly as shitty as the rules are) were the way to pick up easy wins. After that... yeah, gifting changed a couple of years ago, and then when otaku and go-go got into business - it got really shitty really fast...
So now it's mostly garbage games, and bundle trash. Other idiots like me... the outcasts and rogues. We don't fall in line like good sheeple. They don't like that they cannot control us... and that we are free from their hate.
So I'm giving away some of my own bundle trash to celebrate victory over them! Celebrating Love conquering that false hate... and ego.

I use my past not as a tool of hate, but a teacher for myself and others... it's my greatest asset. ;) Wisdom created through time, and energy, and love, tolerance, and a lot of patience over that time. I think the community has dropped some, but you can check it out on some pages... around... steamgifts. I can't recall exact links. But there is overall activity charts. It can show member amounts, and certain activity, but it's hard to pull much info or hard data from it. Plus all those allowed for profits closed groups... well... they are hard to gauge... So I don't know if I answered much from my own experience, but it definitely changed a bit, and some good people were driven off, or left voluntarily. As some shitty ones remained behind - bullies and gossips and the like. I have a lot of funny shit that's incriminating... but they get away with it.

MAKING STEAMGIFTS GREAT AGAIN: SUPERFABS EDITION!

So, I was planning on running daily giveaways, but I got cut off. Anyway, I'm going to make it three days each in honor of my three day hiatus. Since some people haitus... GET IT! ;)
So, I see many haven't figured much of anything out yet, with my rules and stuff. A lot of fails this round. Some have met requirements, however. Enough to at least not be blacklisted. I was surprised how many got whitelisted this round though. Wasn't expecting that. I better add a good one now, since people are going down too fast and they might not get good chances after this one.
Wanted to note: I'll be checking some whitelists for custom rules I have too - and maybe removing them or blacklisting them for some of the event. If you're removed, you'll get a notice from me, but otherwise my rules remain the same. If you pass my whitelist check for that round you're okay for that round. I only will alter at the end phase of each giveaway, after tallying entries.
Try and put the pieces together and survive - if you are on the bubble or otherwise. Of course, this could all be a bunch of crap, much like the various mish-mash of convoluted rules here on steamgifts... that nobody cares to/wants to fix because either: a) they are brown-nosers, whether by choice or what they feel is "security/survival", thereby creating "social cliques", another primal and completely natural phenomenon between most "neurotypicals", or b) they simply don't care because of neuroplasticity breakdowns - trauma, mental health, genetics, upbringing, etc., or c) they settle for mediocrity and want to be part of the status quo - probably again going back to point 1 with security and survival - the "I didn't see anything", because they don't want to become targeted themselves kind of scenario... The result(s) being of course: no changes are enforced for the betterment of society, whether on a small scale like steamgifts, or a larger forum, like cities, countries, and beyond. Then you end up living in a hopeless, shitty, dystopian society full of greed, much like the world today.
Most humans are blatantly stupid or desensitized to this fact, or blinded/distracted/pacified by the wrong things, making them stupid by default (at least in one area or another, all are), so I can't blame them for what they do not know or understand. Smart people just took control, but dumber ones let them. Psychological Warfare has taken advantage of this, and most are unseeing and brainwashed now. None can escape this power to one extent or another.

If you’re still around, yet not on my whitelist, I hope you can try and find out… why you passed (though it was around 50% that met the requirements needed to join my new bolstered whitelist, in preparation for rule changes, and having that complete immunity now for being a joy in my eyes), or do something to improve your chances to stick around! I’m going to slowly tighten my leash a little as we go, just to give those who have proven their worth a better chance at the tasty treats on the way!
Oh, by the way, since I’m going to be stalking you, I suggest you do the same by stalking me here if you’re trying to get on my good side. What would improve your chances of having immunity? What would make me want to blacklist you? It’s worth trying to figure out how to please me at my game of madness, if you are on the threshold of fail by not being on my whitelist, or if you haven’t participated yet. For those who have fallen from my good graces and are blacklisted: If you feel you have been wronged, and think I am a cruel master, you could also grovel and beg me on Steam for forgiveness. Pleading your case also helps, as to why you think I have made a mistake. I warn you though: I rarely make mistakes, so please make sure you have a clear case to present.
I… did all that I could in my power to save you… while being fair to those who were able to accomplish more, and raise their appreciation level status/morale/affinity bonus in spite of my highly critical and judgemental viewpoint.

Based on the Steamgifts Attrition concept, I found myself thinking, as I am going to be semi-departed, so to speak, and I have soo much to give away yet... What should I do with some of this "stuff"?
I'm going to be creating a massive blacklist because, as a whole, I don't like most of you, and let us be honest: you do not like me.
FIND YOURSELF AND WIN! Someone will win! Brush that fear aside and fight for your true self - your true being...
So here is your chance to jump on and also possibly benefit in the process, as it will help me further ostracize myself from the community via cross-blacklisting magic (remember, I can no longer enter your giveaways either once I have you blacklisted, so you cannot lose here - probably), and help you to make a possibly tough choice involving this decision. The games will end when the cap is at its limit.
The rules are simple. You join a created giveaway, and if you stay there upon the end of the giveaway results, you get a blacklist from me as I move through the list of entrants. It isn't lifted. I will continue doing giveaways until I amass the maximum number of allowable blacklist slots on steamgifts. I may only get one in, if the cap is low, but I may add better or worse games over time... so yes, fate is in your hands if you want to play. If you lose, then it's game over!
This is a perfect chance to get onto mine if you dislike me already and want a chance at winning a game. If I'm already on your blacklist, I left a decent amount of time to remove me from your own for cooldowns, and I have also purged my own list completely to start the winter festivities!
Choose wisely, and only if you really think it's worth being on a blacklist that I may never remove you from. No tricks... I doubt I'll be giving much to the community anyway overall, so what is there to lose? Right?! Right?! ;-)
There is a catch: For the lucky of the unlucky that win each game: You may relieve yourself of blacklist status after giveaway ends by both playing a game and writing a review, and sending it my way via Steam. You'll also need to provide proof that you finished the game. If the RNG fails to pick you, and you are an entrant at end of giveaway, and don't meet below exceptions, too bad so sad...
If you do win, and you can provide the goods, you'll have to add me though - unless you want to stay on the list. Of course, the choice is yours and it is optional.
I will be doing giveaways here until I have the maximum amount of users on my blacklist.
There are exceptions to this rule:
If you're on my whitelist, you are immune to being blacklisted. I may decide to blacklist you if you do not wish to play the game, or write a review. Probably not, but I also may consider removing you from whitelist, if I was lazy and you got by some of my last few "whitelist filter checks". :D
If I am in a group you are also in where blacklisting other members is prohibited, please contact me or do a whitelist check to make sure I do not accidentally blacklist you unfairly, since some rules are allowed on steamgifts in groups here (wow, it's meta-strange to say such things, but that's how we roll here), and some are not.
I may also break my own rule and grant immunity in the midst of things - if certain secret requirements are met. There are several ways to attain this status involving multiple parts. You will find them hidden amongst this site if you are curious... But you may not find what you are looking for if you go about searching in the wrong way. Try not to overthink it! Just be a kind person... ;)
I also will state that if you want this event to be prolonged, I suggest being careful not to bombard a single giveaway with all the entries required to create a blacklist over-run. The first 1k will be on. Whether it's 1 giveaway, or I go through thousands to get there... Remember, acting as a group to accomplish what you may or may not want here is a nice goal to have - a "singleness of purpose" so to speak.
I will add you to my whitelist to avoid any confusion - if you're in these said groups with certain rules and restrictions I am to abide by, so that'll keep you from getting blacklisted. If you are not on my whitelist, feel free to message here or in steam, once again!
