Do you really not use Origin at all or do you just say it because this is the internet? Why? Who cares about pride, games are games.

Edit: Forgot to mention I mean for Origin exclusive games. Of course steam is the best! Sometimes there are great deals on a game like Dead Space 3 or Mass Effect 3 and people don't buy it because it's on Origin. It's never coming on Steam anyways so just buy it!

I won't touch Origin, or EA games. It's just a personal preference, I dislike the company, I dislike their company policies, and I don't care how good their games are I won't touch them. Buying a game from a crappy company doesn't send any message other than "I will pay for your product no matter how badly you treat your customers if you make good games." I have the same policy for Blizzard, I left after WotLK, haven't touched WoW since, haven't played SC2 because I don't believe in paying 140 dollars for a complete single player story, and haven't touched Diablo 3 in addition to SC 2 because I don't believe in having to sign into something to play games off line. That is why I have left Microsoft behind as well with their GFWL.

And no, Steam is -not- like GFWL/BNet/Whatever that requires you to sign in to play games you purchase. Once you download and install the game and run it once, you can play the game with no internet connection unless it is Microsoft with GFWL, EA with Origin, Blizzard with Battlenet or any other obnoxious third party system that requires you to sign in after installing the games. And Microsoft doesn't just do this to Steam games. Go buy a physical copy of DoW2 classic or Chaos Rising and try to play without an internet connection. You can't, it is physically impossible.

That was the logic Microsoft had with XBox One by the way. They used the same marketing model for their new console as they had for years with their PC market but people who go "Well...they made this good game, so I hate them..but I will buy this game series" Just encourages them to keep doing the same thing. If you don't like EA or Microsoft or Blizzard's business model QUIT BUYING THEIR GAMES! It doesn't matter if it's a sequel to a great game, or you have heard great things about it. If you buy their games and deal with their BS company policies after finding out about them, and bitching about them all that makes you is a hypocrite.

Well lets see...

EA and their many crappy DRMs
The clause that was in the EULA about loosing your account, and ALL your games after 2 years of inactivity. It was later removed, but it should not have been in there in the first place.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Inactive-Origin-Accounts-With-Entitlements-Content-Can-Deleted-34012.html

Get banned in the Origin forums, get banned from your account. It was later changed but the damage was done, as it should never have happened in the first place.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/EA-Updates-Origin-Account-Policy-You-Can-Now-Access-Your-Games-Banned-41417.html

Killing off multiplayer servers just because there is not enough people buying that game to keep the servers running. There is a reason why I hate games without 3rd party server support.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/EA-Sports-MMA-Multiplayer-Shutting-Down-Soon-40599.html
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/EA-Closing-Official-Battlefield-3-Servers-Place-Rented-Servers-42425.html

Online Passes for games you bought second hand. Why should you pay for something that was already paid for with the original cost of the game. After all its not like its more strain on the server, the original owner is not playing on it anymore.

Random deletion of games.

The fact that it doesn't have all the same and more features that steam had when origin first launched. It should have at least matched what steam had.

And thats just a few off the top of my head... Oh and just general hate of EA.

It's not Origin I hate, it is the fact that Origin is made by EA. I won't support EA products at all. Not much of a loss, there isn't an EA game that I really want to bother playing.

I have had no technical problems with Origin, I just hate it because it only advertises EA games and it hides all other games. Plus there aren't as many sales and I can't use paysafecard with it.

I have no religious objection to Origin or anything; it's just a pain to have to run another service for my games, and (unlike Steam or Desura, which carry lots of stuff and make it worth my while) Origin just doesn't have enough games in it to justify its existence.

Same here. I rarely even remember to play games if they're not registered in Steam, so I'm sure not going to remember them if they're hidden in a different (and let's be honest, even less reliable) manager. And I'm not going to leave it open to clutter my systray 24/7 anyway.

(Plus the lack of sales, lack of selection, bitterness over certain games being pulled out of Steam, unwillingness to support EA, etc. everyone else has mentioned.)

I don't support EA. They have destroyed too many great game studios and franchises. Add some horrible DRM (case SimCity) and customer service and we have a challenger for Ubisoft in the worst game company -awards.

Now what if there was a game that you want to play(implying it isn't cluttered with stupid DLCs which makes you not want to play the game therefore not buy it.) that's on sale for 75% would you buy it?

Probably not. I don't think there will be anything interesting enough for me to buy. I haven't cared for a single game they've made/published since Mirror's Edge (2009), and even it wasn't THAT spectacular.

I don't know much about EA business practice but my own reason to not use Origin just because sake of comfort. I already have Steam to manage my games, I don't want another client installed to run my games, be it Origin, Capsule, etc.
Also no, even if some top Origin titles are discounted cheap like in Humble Origin Bundle I still wouldn't mindlessly buy it.

Come to think of it, I don't have any favorite EA title at all.

I don´t like Orgin GUI, but my real problem is that when i tried to check game prices it wants me to sell them in Euros instead of dollars. And i forget it even exists, maybe from the client the prices will show corectly, although only game i care for is Dead Space 3 and with 75% disccount.

I don't mind it for exclusives, so long as the game is appealing to me. I got Mass Effect 3 even despite the hate for the game, still a good game overall even if some parts of it were relatively bad, still a much better game series than most video games out there.

The best is GoG as in DRM free.
If u want copy protection in u'r games then is steam and for indie's Desura.
Why the fuck wold i get ANOTHER DRM protection on my HDD for just a few games?

Same reason I'm not buying an Xbox One, I don't want my gaming platform to be

1) spying on me whenever it wants (I know Steam does it too, but so far I didn't get any spam emails or anything from them, and they rarely advertise their own stuff for me; I just don't trust EA with the same, sorry)

2) come on guys, it's EA. I'm not supporting the number one driving force that is trying to destroy gaming itself by taking away more and more from the consumers

3) not interested in several-year-old games being sold at starting retail prices, nor in their generally high prices for any new games. Note: the digital copy costs the same as the boxed one. Not fucking cool, especially that they themselves defended their high prices back before Origin came out, saying that boxing the games costs the most.

4) no game from them interests me, thank you very much. I was never much into Dragon Age, I hated Mass Effect since the first game, Not into military shooters like Battlefield, and everything Maxis does can rot with AIDS and get fucked by a leper-infested ice giant's spiky dick.

Well, okay, this MIGHT just be worse than the X-Bone.

The only game on Origin I want is ME3, the rest I could care less about.
I don't like the idea of having a separate DRM just for one game.

I have a few Origin games, but most were pre-Origin games that now require Origin thanks to updates. I don't think I've purchased much of anything on Origin, but that's just because there are very few EA games I care about. I'm not opposed to buying Origin games, but since I disapprove of Origin, I never buy Origin games within a month of launch (they rarely care about the numbers after that).

I play games like BFBC2 and Mirror's Edge on Origin, I add them as nonsteam games. When I launch them they don't even start the Origin client at all. Not even BFBC2 multiplayer.

EA.

I won't support a company like that.

Before you say something about "what if they have a game you're interested" highly unlikely. Last game from them I had interest in, was ME3 and Dragon Age 2. ME3 solely because I wanted to see the end of the trilogy, and you all know how that ended up. I regret the time I wasted pirating DA2, it was fucking horrible.

You don't like a game = You don't buy it. You don't like the company? Even more reason not to buy the game. Seriously you just said DA2 sucks, then you don't buy it whether Valve created it or EA.

I have 4 games on Origin, two of them I paid $5 for, the other 2 were free. I never play them... Origin is a major pain to use. Things always go wrong with it. But hey... at least it isn't GFWL. Right?

I used to have loads of issues with Origin. BF3 was released using a client that was still in beta, and it showed. Now Origin is much more stable, but like others have said I also find it annoying that I cant have certain games available on the same client. Mass Effect 1 & 2 on Steam, but 3 on Origin, annoys me (maybe I'm OCD about things like that? If I have all ther books in a series, I prefer them to be of the same binding too!)
