What's your favorite type of meat?
Personally, I LOVE lamb, followed by a bacon, a good steak and raw fish.
I haven't tried all of the below, but I will probably one day :)

OMG, I forgot to add SQUIRREL as an option... You can just comment with that if you need to ;)

Does it necessarily have to be a dead animal? If it is alive, it's considered weird? :B Nah, just kidding. The BEST meat ever is from the ostrich. It's rare to find, but it's the best. If you've never eaten an ostrich, you don't know what you're missing. Other than that, I mostly eat chicken, because it's cheap, but it's not my favorite. Fish is very nice. Pork too. And why have you put horse as an option, but not ostrich? -_- With the same logic, put cat and dog too. xD

From those I tried it is easily chicken. Pork is fine as well. For beef and some kinds of fish I have some rather unpleasant memories. So I got wary of them .... lamb I tried as well but didn't like the taste. I think the rest I have never tried. As far as it appears to me the "lighter" the meat is the more I prefer it.

Better to avoid elephant and whale then.
Can you even eat those?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not sure for elephant but atleast whales are being hunted each year by the japanese for "research". Obviously they need hundreds of examples for that. Are elephant endangered species? But besides that, technically you can eat them. Ask the lions and the sharks.

Well bacon of course, but since I have to watch for my cholesterol I usually stick to fish, chicken and leaner cuts of pork, as well as some beef.

I have tried and liked a whole lot of things though (rabbit, ostrich, kangaroo, crocodile, moose, elk, bison) so I had to go with the "dead animal? Yum!" answer.

I voted fish, cause I love salmon.
Also, isn't venison the meat from deer?
(Because there's separate options for both, in the poll.)

Personally, I think people who eats animals or who kills animals don't deserve to live on earth or they have to stop eat them.
I don't eat any meat or fish. I don't even drink milk and don't eat any dairy products. And I don't like what's going on with all that mass slaughters of cattle. People who eats meat don't have a heart.

Well if you wouldn't be here if your ancestors didn't eat meat. They ate meat so you can have the option to see their choices as barbaric. If they just ate veggies, then how would you survive til today to complain about their life choices!

Have you ever observed nature? Animals eat animals. Get over it. Killing animals for fun though, that is heartless.

It all depends on how you look at it. From a religious aspect, at least a few religions that I know of view humans and animals as being separate. However, from a scientific (more specifically an anthropological) standpoint, yes; you and I are animals. We are made up of the same materials, we both contain DNA with remarkable similarities (some species more similar to us than others), we both evolve (evolution is a fact, the theory of evolution is still a theory, they are not the same thing), and if you go as far as believing in the theory of evolution then we (probably) come from monkeys. We are simply a species along with every other species on this planet.

Animals cannot be responsible for killing other animals. They are who they are. But as a creature who has the mind and humanity we are answerable for what we do. Everyone knows that some people prefer to live like an animal and that's their own choice. Who knows, it may be true and such people are just animals in human bodies. Personally, I believe that not a DNA or any kind of religion can tell us who we are but only our mind and humanity determine how human we are. It comes from our thoughts and our deeds only.

I'm very curious to hear you opinion about animals that eat other animals then.

Also, based on what you've told us. I'm going to assume that you don't eat eggs, use plastic bags (many contain 'slip agents' which is derived from animal fat), eat refined sugar (some brands are filtered using bone char a.k.a. purified ash from animal bones), eat bagels/other bread products (can contain L-cysteine which is derived from bird feathers and/or pig hair), use non-dairy creamer (contains proteins derived from milk), drink beer/wine (some beer and wine variants contain a gelatin that is found in fish bladders), and there's still more.

Some other products you use that could contain animal parts (whether used in the manufacturing process or contained within the product itself) includes: shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, glue, fabric softener, candy, jell-o, marshmallows, tires, potato chips, peanuts, cake mixes, condoms, nail polish, perfume, refried beans, and the list goes on.

NOTE: I don't (entirely) stand by the accuracy of this list, just going off what product labels and my brief internet research tells me.

I think eat or use all those products too risky for everyone's health.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say with this, maybe rephrasing it would help.

But if I understand correctly you are saying using all of those products would be bad for anyone. Which is true, especially some of those products in high consumption. But I never said you used all of them, they were just examples. There is a plethora of products out there that use animals parts, or ingredients derived from animals, than what I presented in this list.

You understand me perfectly.
I don't eat much and definitely prefer not to keep prepared food for next time. Once prepared food has to be eaten immediately after that. And if food is fresh and healthy, there is no need to eat much. I know it from my own experience.

But that doesn't mean you don't use any of the above products I mentioned.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I've already told you I know how bad those products are and I don't know any reason why I would eat or use such products. I would be completely insane in that case.

what about plants?
they have no rights to be left alone and alive?

i'm serious. if you have such high morals about life, why do you kill vegetables and eat them?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, I have a high moral but it's not an extremely moral.
That's not reasonable when whoever it was ask you, for example, not to step on grass because it's alive and you will hurt it. Or call it a sin when someone occasionally steps on a bug. But when people use unnecessary violent like killing animals, it's not ok anyway.

some pork recipes are really good, and there is nothing like a breaded and fried chicken thigh or drumette. But it's still a tie at first for me between bone in rib eye, skirt steak, or flat iron steak. honorable mention to tri-tip and coulotte steaks they are ok.
