Hmmmmmm???
What, no. I intend to play all of my thousands of backlogged games some day.
At least you guys can't see my other backlogs, consoles add a few thousand more. -_-

I know I won't manage to play all my games, but I intend to play as many as I feel like, instead of worrying about leaving behind an unfinished backlog I rather own anything I might want to play so I can if want to.
Game's are things to be enjoyed, if they instead are causing me stress I just take a break or something. I'm currently taking a bit of a shotgun approach to my library, just installing anything that catches my attention while scrolling down the list and playing for as long as I feel like doing so, only returning if I really liked it and trying not to worry too much about finishing it.

Let's call it "not anymore"... ^^ Back then I just redeemed every single bundle game of an indiegala / bundlestars bundle even if I just intended to play one or two of them.
Most of the games I redeemed on my Steam account are games that I actually wanna play at some point.
Sometimes I just buy games 'cause I have good memories from back when I owned hardcopies of them (basically to support those companies) or just to be able to access them any time I feel like it.
There are some exceptions tho. I got some games that I just purchased for the sake of achievements (which required me to play it even if I didn't like the game. ... although I'm aware of the possibility to unlock achievements with external tools) and sometimes I still might end up redeeming all of my bundle games just so the keys don't get revoked before they got redeemed.
In regards of Steamgifts I just enter raffles for games I wanna play :)

Buy Steam games that you know you won't ever play.
YES. Always. This is Steam motto. "Pay, not play."

It is more like a trading card game collector mentality imo. Of course it is nearly impossible to collect "all the games" unlike a tcg's cards, since several games get released everyday while a tcg releases a pre-determined amount of cards every few months. But unlike collecting tcg cards, mentality behind getting more and more games isn't about being a completionist and it is more about owning more than the rest of the "hobbyists".

It became a bit more of a mental problem for me over a year ago when I would regularly buy mystery bundles.
I stopped doing mystery bundles last year and am being a somewhat more choosy with the bundles and the very few individual games or DLC I buy, though that meant getting 200 games that year instead of the 400 per year pace when I joined BLAEO mid year.
I'm gonna feel a bit more mental when I cross the 1000 game mark though, which I'm just a few bundles away from reaching, but that'll dissipate with time. :)

Well, I'm very aware that I have too much games, so instead of buying for me... I buy for SG XD
I try to finish all my games but it's hard XD
Tho I'm proud I finished some since the beggining of the year.
But I know that at least half of my library was gift from friends (bundles they didn't want mostly) and it adds to the list games I will probably never play.
I think I maybe buy so much games, because it's my only hobby, it's very cheap too when it's on sale. But maybe buying that much is a problem, tho, it doesn't feel like one, it's just that I have bought so much bundles it adds to the backlog, but I actually play daily.

I crossed the 2,000 mark on my Steam library and have no intension of playing all the games.
I buy quite a number of bundled games on sale (Steam, Humble, etc) looking for good-value trading cards that are dumped from these games for cheap.
Once I sell those trading cards, I use that Steam wallet funds to buy the games that I do want to play.

It's a combination of factors. For me a tendency to hoard (the natural human instinct to keep things) is definitely one. Also retail therapy at times.
I have a significant backlog, but really wish I'd play more of my games. Due to some problems (and studying), my PC has stood defunct for a while (~2,5y) now, so I can't just boot it and start a game. However, I really want to play most of what I own.
And once I get myself to starting it, I will start categorizing my games, both on Steam and other platforms, into bins like "will play" "won't play" "won't finish" "finished enough" "100% done" "POS". Maybe I'll even join some backlog group, who knows.
So yeah... existential dread,

Im slowly getting through the games that I have in my library, but I am quite specific on what I activate and what I dont. If I buy bundles, I only activate the ones I want and gift away the rest. I do think its a hobby as long as it doesnt affect your life in a negative way. If you start using money, that you should be using on food, towards bundles, you have a problem lol.
thanks for the giveaways friend :)

I crossed the "600 games" line recently and to think, 600 games is enough to play for a decade or, even, for a lifetime. Pretty sure that I won't ever launch like 30% of my library. And still, I spent my money on em, why? I can't even answer. I just made a purchase because I had money.
You know this feeling, when you see a new bundle full of unknown titles, and your mind goes "daym I need this". A lot of you have thousands of games and I bet you're not done yet. So what's this, a hobby or a mental problem? Would love to read your opinions and solutions.
Also, level 7 rush, games im not interested in, but YOU may be thrilled to get. Good luck!
