I seem to be blacklisted too, not sure why though?
Edit; Oh and if you do know/remember what for i would like to know as i'm curious)
Edit edit; If it's about the "Bro that's gay" comment on this thread i said that as a lighthearted positive joke but looking at it now does seem rude, sorry about that! (if that is what it was)
P.s I'm non-binary and pansexual :D
Edit edit edit; I found out i actually won a giveaway from you previously, thanks for the game :D (haven't gotten around to playing it because i'm waiting to get additional space, currently only have 150gb total)

you basically just list most of the reason i can think of, beside from maybe take the gift without saying anything in return (i normally wouldn't mind, but sometimes I do care and got sad by it), or maybe after that I checked out your profile and thought to myself that I don't want this person to get anything from me anymore? I can't say...
but this is a positive thread, and I don't really want to bring unrelated topic to this thread. So check again. β’ΜΞ΅β’ΜΩ₯
I'm not entirely sure if you'll remain off my naughtly list tho. The future is so uncertain. (γ»ο½ΟΒ΄γ»)

WELCOME AND HAPPY PRIDE!
Come get your flag(s)! They are FREE to all. Each one is hand crafted with love.
You'll have to forgive some of the imperfections -- the heart emoji selection my fabric supplier had limited color choices available. Pink and grey were unfortunately completely out of stock, and the only red fabric they had has a bit of a sparkle to it. But what is Pride if not celebrating a bit of unnecessary sparkle? π
If there is a flag that you'd like but don't see here, let me know! I'm happy to fill out custom orders!

Probably because there's no emote for a double bladed axe. It's sometimes used as a lesbian symbol.

For Bi's too ....
I got a lot of offers, from guys, when i weared one (3 in 1 week).
After my brother told me that it comes from the double axe pendants, i hadn't knowledge about that and only bought it on a metal festival because i liked it, i never weared it again (3 offers/week was too much attention from mens for my taste as straight guy :-D).
Comment has been collapsed.
Never heard of it being used as a symbol for gay or bi guys. It's a symbol of strength and independence for the lesbian community so I don't see how that would fit.
Maybe it's just that they found you hot :P no harm in that. Take it as a compliment.
Comment has been collapsed.
Maybe only a german thing and it was 15 - 20 years ago, so maybe it changed over time.
As young guy, in the middle 20s, i don't took it as "big compliment" to get questioned from other guys if i want to ..... or if i be horny.... and similiar other direct tries. It was very confusing for me because happened so massive in such a short timeframe.
Bi Friends tested the water too if there is a chance.... but they were polite enough not to jump in with a crowbar :-D
And they accepted that it will not happening something besides a friendship.

Heh gay guys can be direct. Wait, scratch that. Guys can be horny toads, straight or gay. So I guess now you know how women feel most of the time lol
Seriously though, pressing unwanted advances are never cool, regardless of orientation or gender so yeah I get it.

I know a lot about LGBT+, have Lesb, Bi, Gay and Trans friends but Ace, Aromantic, Agender and Ally are complete new to me.
And to be honest it looks a bit extreme (which one can remember on all, sometimes only little, differences?).
I think in germany it is a bit slimmer as the list above.
PS.: Why 2x Lesbian ?
Comment has been collapsed.
This is a good starting point if youβre interested in learning about those identities. I donβt think itβs particularly extreme to recognize them. In gaming circles weβre comfortable with dozens of different genres of games, including ones that have minute and specific differences between them (e.g. roguelike vs. roguelite, or RPG vs. JRPG vs. SRPG vs. CRPG vs. ARPG, etc.). I see these labels as similar, as I think people are also complex, and so our categorization will naturally reflect that. It can be a lot to learn initially, but ultimately I think itβs worth examining because it gives us a better and deeper understanding of humanity, each other, and even ourselves.
Oh, and I put two flags for lesbians because they have two flags!

Ok, Lesbians are greedy ^^
only a joke
One Flag for the Blood God, Web Spider, Emperor and so on^^
I don't have so much categories in the gaming direction.
Roguelike and Roguelite are the same for me (heresy!), nearly the same for RPG's (JRPG's excluded). No time for splitting each hair in 10 pieces ^^
Thanks for the link.

have Lesb, Bi, Gay and Trans friends but Ace, Aromantic, Agender and Ally
There is romantic attraction (falling in love) and physical attraction (looks pretty / wanting to have sex)
Straight is heteroromantic and heterosexual.
Lesbian/gay/homosexual homoromantic and homosexual
Asexual: can be homo- or heteroromantic, but not experiencing / a lot less physical attraction. (plot twist: at least half-dozen asexual micro-labels exist and it's fucking confusing)
Aromantic: "can't fall in love" (still can have close friends and anything, so it's not like isolated hermits) - degree and intensity still can be different one by one
maybe shit explanations:
Agender: does not identify as man or woman (or any gender, wait for it). I guess main reason that it's not.. important, as they are just themselves, identifying as any gives nothing extra?
Pansexual is more or less bisexual was in male-female system. Attraction does not depend on gender, but some other thing like... personality, regardless of really how their partner identifies.
But it's complex. I'm still unsure about agender and nonbinary, couldn't find enough so far.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's definitely complex and kind of overwhelming when you get into the details.
But at the same time, as far as dating it's really rather simple. There's no need to get into the weeds about it, just respect other people and you're set. Everything else can be sorted out with time, and gives you something to talk about. ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Nonbinary is generally someone who does not view themselves as being either male or female. It's kind of an umbrella term, similar to how queer can be used as an umbrella term to describe someone that's LGBTQ+.
Agender is someone who doesn't view themselves as identifying with any particular gender. So would thus fall under the nonbinary umbrella, but is different from someone who's genderfluid (gender changes over time) or bigender (being both).

the lesbian flag has had a number of re-designs over the years, right now the most popular one is the sunset lesbian flag with the oranges but there are others like the lipstick lesbian flag and the labrys flag!
Comment has been collapsed.
that's why i prefer the 2018 pride flag design that is just super inclusive to everybody to any other flag, i think its better for pride month since it displays unity and is just generally nice. plus it's super recognisable so you can't get all mixed up!
(makes me wonder how colourblind people deal with all the different flags, not just for lgbt but in general!)
edit: i do still think everyone has a right to their own flag and to take pride in it, i just like the inclusivity of that particular pride flag and i have no issues with people identifying and having a flag for their identity even if it's uncommon. live and let live as they say, let people be proud of themselves no matter how you feel about it :)
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree. I love the combined trans, POC, and rainbow flag β wonderfully inclusive, and beautiful in geometry, color, and meaning. I think itβs fantastic as an βumbrellaβ identifier that encompasses the whole queer community (I actually tried to make it out of hearts for this thread but it ended up being too long and unrecognizable).
I love all the singular identity flags though too, as I think itβs as important for us to be able to be specifically defined individuals as it is to be an aggregated βusβ.
Comment has been collapsed.
ahhh you summed up my feelings perfectly, i love the unity but also the individual pride of each community! that's why pride month is so brilliant, it isn't just gay month or lesbian month but a month for everyone no matter their identity to be proud individually and as part of a larger group!

Or... you could just let people use whatever they choose and not ask them to change their ways just because it's "too confusing" for a straight man. After all, lesbians couldn't care less about straight men.

After all, lesbians couldn't care less about straight men.
Actually a lot of lesbians get along famously with straight men.
Afterall many of them share common interests like video games, goofy movies, food and obviously gorgeous women.
Comment has been collapsed.
You do raise a fair point. Sorry, let me correct it to "couldn't care less about a random straight man's opinion".
Personally I still stand by what I said in the first place though.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I get what you mean π I was just thinking it's maybe better to avoid anything that could give off the impression like it's a contest of acceptance or awareness. It might "scare away" people who are basically on your (not as in you personally) side.
Comment has been collapsed.
I hear you but I feel like that people who are on our side, as you put it, wouldn't try to tell us what to do in order for them to be more comfortable with what or how we're doing things in the first place, if that makes sense? Like, obviously accepting attitudes and support are more than welcome but as soon as you feel the need to try to tell us how to live our lives? Yeah nah, screw you, really couldn't care less :P
Comment has been collapsed.
To be honest it's not really a topic I give much thought unless it's Pride month because where I come from it's not really a big issue anymore, at least not in my circles. For me it all boils down to Everbody should fuck with whom they please as long as it's consensual.
Comment has been collapsed.
Of course only straight men are confused from so much different stuff (flags, signs, "genders", orientations etc.)............ :-D /sarcasm
But i had experiences with you in the past and i know how you tick...
I am glad that i know a good bunch of lesbs that are very normal, and that normal don't mean some sexual stuff, more the "respect others as you want to be respected" way.
And to interact with them is for me, very, easy.
From my experiences with you i can clearly say that you are a other type.
Understanding and explanations would be a way or someone can say "couldn't care less about a random straight man's opinion". Hm, so a opinion of a man is for you lesser worth as from a woman. Nice "equality".
But to each their own.
Oh and good luck with persons that, different as i, don't have Gay, lesb, bi and trans friends.
They will surely understand all "genders", signs and flags.
Comment has been collapsed.
Walking into a Pride thread, admitting you don't understand who we are, and then suggesting improvements for us anyway is very presumptuous of you. That's what Icephoenix was responding to and why they were a bit cold with their response.
I realize that you feel disrespected by them, but consider how your actions here have also conveyed disrespect for our community and this celebration in particular. You put "genders" in scare quotes, for example, and then basically say at the end of your last post that we deserve our discrimination. This thread is supposed to be fun and happy for us, and here you are telling people like me "haha, good luck with all those people who hate you". Can you see how that sucks for someone like me?
Comment has been collapsed.
1) I understand a lot about the LGBT+ stuff. I would say much more as the "common" people because of the friends that i have that are from the LGBT+ community.
2.) That don't mean i understand all. And it isn't a problem to say that. Normal reactions are as example then a explanation, if it is important to someone. Happened from all, besides Icephoenix.
3.) I were interested for the stuff i don't know and happy about the explanations, that helped me to understand a part better.
4.) My response was a direct response to Icephoenix and her behavior not to someone else.
Because she is clearly, not only in this case or this year, one of the lesb ones that have a problem with mens in general. Last time she made a fuzz because i used the word "females" instead of "women" and it was very clear that i don't done that to harm someone and wrote multiple times that my dictionary list it as the same, english isn't my native language and questioned where the difference is. She weren't willing (or able) to explain it but made a "shitstorm" as i burned some witches.
Other, lesbs, explained the difference, without a problem, i were happy about the explanation and after that i used women. So no problem unless someone want to create one out of such stuff. And she clearly did this last time and clearly done it today. So yes, i am not fully neutral if everytime the same person come along like a berserk and shit on all people that don't share her opinion to 100%.
And yes, she is disrespectful. Not only to me, to other lesb ones, that said her she completely overreacted, too.
5.) I don't said that someone deserve discrimination! (same as i never said or mean >"haha, good luck with all those people who hate you", and to be honest i have problems to see how you come/came to this impression)
I tried to open Icephoenix eyes how she act against someone that have LGBT+ friends, that isn't against the LGBT+ community, that try to understand the, bit, stuff he don't know .
Respect include for me too that i can say my opinion -of course not in a insulting way- as example that i think it would be easier to use only 1 or 2 flags as/for lesbs and not 10 (or how much exactly exists -thats a bit unclear from all the posts above-)
I wrote:
Maybe they should use 1 - 2 or at least not a lot of different ones.
It get too complicate with 20 "genders" when each one have a lot of different flags or other signs.
You see the "maybe" was not a "i demand they have to do what i say" or something like that (and to see it then this way is in the best case aggressive and/or stupid and will never lead to something good [it's like looking for a reason to make trouble...]). Plus i explained why i think it (because it gets to complicate).
I think that because i have LGBT+ friends and still not understand all.
So how did you think should someone that only hear 1x/year about it, understand all when it gets with each year more complicate ? (not to speak from all the people that don't want to hear about LGBT+ or don't want to understand anything)
It is unrealistic.
And, at least, a general understanding is the basic that are needed to talk about stuff. Discuss maybe. Share opinions. So for me it is the basic for any intelectual exchange.
I made the genders in "" because i still not know about a part of the used terms [Ace etc., i wrote it much above too you].
None explained all before i were gone and i were offline and met friends, so no time to look for explanations.
And i use it to highlight stuff. You see that clearly above with my answers too ("females" and "women" as example).
Sorry if that came over as disrespectful, negative or judging in some way. That wasn't my intention.
And a last general thing.
Each one are free to interpret written sentences as he think it is how the writer mean them but if someone, clearly, everytime only see the worst possible case then he maybe should think about it and maybe try to see not always some bad intenton behind words.
Alone that would help in some cases special when not native speakers are involved.
Comment has been collapsed.
I appreciate your clarifications here. I donβt think youβre intending to be mean or hurt anyone, but I wanted to highlight how that can happen anyway.
You admit that you donβt understand some of this stuff, and thatβs okay! Itβs a lot to learn, especially in a second language! But itβs often good to take a humble approach if you donβt understand something. If you instead act like an authority, it feels unearned. Telling lesbians how to be lesbians makes you sound like youβre trying to be the authority on lesbianism, for example. Critiquing genders before even making an effort to understand what they are is, similarly, an overreach. I shouldnβt walk into a room of engineers and say their designs are too complicated or that I know how to βfixβ them before Iβve even looked at them, for example. Plus, if Iβm not an engineer, it might not even be my place to critique them at all. Instead I can just trust that they are the experts and they know what theyβre doing.
You can say we need to do more to be easier to understand, but I think itβs also true that many people could make much more of an effort to understand us in the first place.
Iβm more than happy to explain any confusing terms/ideas to anyone who asks in earnest, by the way, but your first response wasnβt to ask me, it was to judge us as βextremeβ. Again, I donβt think you meant harm by this, but it comes across negatively all the same.
And even if you feel itβs true, thereβs something to be said for time and place. If I go to a birthday party for someone and start talking about how I think birthdays are stupid, then Iβm not letting that person have their moment and instead making it about my feelings. This thread is our βbirthday partyβ. Itβs okay to be confused or even frustrated by all of our different identities, but also consider how this isnβt the best time or place to bring that up.
I canβt speak to your history with icephoenix and was unaware of it when I commented. I also see now how I misinterpreted the end of your last comment and your use of quotes. Sorry about that. I know this is probably incredibly difficult to navigate in a non-native language, and I appreciate you making such a strong effort. If you have any specific questions Iβm more than happy to tackle them. Itβs important to me that people do genuinely understand who we are and why we feel the ways that we do.

lesb ones
The word is lesbians. It's there for a reason. Please use it. (At first I was like "why the fuck is he abbreviating "lesbian" all the time? Then I remembered. German. Either way, the word is lesbian.)
She weren't willing (or able) to explain it but made a "shitstorm" as i burned some witches.
I'm at least 7% sure I said this the last time but fine, I'll repeat myself: "females" is a term from the animal kingdom. Just like (I hope) you wouldn't refer to Frauen as Weibchen, just don't use females when talking about women. It's literally as simple as that. Why you couldn't grasp that when I said it and first needed others to come tell you the same thing is beyond me.
and it was very clear that i don't done that to harm someone and wrote multiple times that my dictionary list it as the same
Being ignorant does not mean it's not disrespectful. It may not have been your intention to cause harm but please just accept when someone who's affected by your statement ends up speaking up and saying "hey, that was disrespectful" instead of getting all defensive and just blaming it on me as a person because I'm pRobLeMaTiC. Also, in general with dictionaries you will always have to be aware of the context you use the word in. "Scales" and "Libra" both mean "Waage" but if you want to weigh something on a Libra, everyone will laugh at you.
What I'm trying to say is there's a time and a place for certain words. I get that not every non-native speaker has the same understanding of the language as I do (and I need to remember that more often, that's very true) but then especially it's key to listen when people speak up about something you said.
tl;dr the lesson here is intention does not equal effect.
Now onto the topic at hand.
Of course only straight men are confused from so much different stuff (flags, signs, "genders", orientations etc.)............ :-D
The point here is that you, specifically you complained about it all being too complicated and suggested that we just change our ways because it's too complicated for you to understand. I get that the whole thing may be confusing but that doesn't mean you get a say in how other people express or identify themselves.
I am glad that i know a good bunch of lesbs that are very normal (...)
From my experiences with you i can clearly say that you are a other type.
Thanks for calling me not normal. Really appreciate that one. (Never have I ever insulted you, just fyi)
Understanding and explanations would be a way or someone can say "couldn't care less about a random straight man's opinion".
What do you want me to eyplain? You don't get a say in how lesbians express and identify themselves. What's so hard to understand here?
Hm, so a opinion of a man is for you lesser worth as from a woman. Nice "equality".
No but woman a) don't usually spew such nonsense when they have no idea what they are talking about and b) we're talking about what you said. Point me to a woman saying a similar thing and I will tell her the damn same, that she doesn't get a say in how lesbians express themselves, unless she is one herself.
Oh and good luck with persons that, different as i, don't have Gay, lesb, bi and trans friends.
Congrats on having gay, lesbian, bi, and trans friends? What do you want? A medal? I don't understand why you brought this up. Having LGBTQIA+ friends doesn't mean you get a pass at saying something shitty.
They will surely understand all "genders", signs and flags.
Literally no one asks that everyone understands EVERYTHING. I also have a hard time grasping some gender identities. The difference is I don't go around rubbing it into people's faces. So if you don't understand something, research, if that still doesn't help, just don't comment on that topic? It's literally that simple.
Any more questions? Cause I promise I'm not here to fight about stupid things just for the sake of fighting but you can bet your ass that I will stand up for myself and will take no shit from anyone.
I'm also open to talking about this in German if you'd prefer that.

I don't see a reason to write a longer word as lesb when i don't want. Each one know exactly what it means, same as when someone use w/m/t/g for genders or sexual orientations.
It isn't a insult, attack or something else so none need to try to find a sand grain to create something out of it.
I'm at least 7% sure I said this the last time but fine, I'll repeat myself: "females" is a term from the animal kingdom. Because you haven't explained something and only gone in berserk mode.

You show here exactly the same behavior as in the past....
Someone, in this case i, were ignorant because he don't understood the difference between two english words and said that multiple times. Of course is that ignorant.... how can someone think that is only a language barrier? /sarcasm.
And here my answers end because on that level it bring nothing to talk with someone.
I don't waste my lifetime for that.
Ps.: Last time two lesbs doesn't liked your behavior with me, this time one -that one posted in this thread but prefer not to jump into this discussion but wrote it somewhere else-. That maybe should start a thinking on your side if always the other one is the bad guy with evil intentions.

you've got far more patience with that guy than i do, lol. in a conversation i ended up fleeing because i've seen him around and wanted nothing to do with him, he made a big deal that he likes to "let anyone wear the name he or she want." but surprise surprise, guess that doesn't cover identities, esp if you request he correct his behavior and thus leave him an opening to deem you "rude".

Hi,
i seen your comment by coincidence.
You came up with your "whoreson bob" name and that this be seen as "inapproriate" as woman.
And my post, you linked too, was only directed on the fact that i don't care which name someone use.
I am not sure, from your words now, if you took my words there about strange/idiots as something against your gender or genders in general.
If so then sorry, that wasn't my intention in that sentence because it was only directed on the names and had nothing to do with genders.
To the rest about Icephoenix i will not react. Sg and some strangers that want to missunderstood me, aren't important enough that i have a negative mood.
Have a good day.

and yet when someone informs you that the proper term is "lesbian," rather than ~let them use what they want and adjust your approach accordingly, you insist your comfort is paramount and persist using the abbreviated and insulting form. i'm just pointing out the inconsistency there, nothing more and nothing less.
edited to add: the females thing too. it dehumanizes women to refer to them as "females" and your persistence in the matter despite being corrected is exhausting.

I know this probably may be a little odd but I see where the misunderstanding happened here β see, in German "letting" (as in allowing) someone do something and "not interfering with what someone does" use the same word and since he's very obviously translating words literally and with a dictionary, he frequently chooses the wrong word. So I don't think he meant any harm with that statement in particular but regarding his general mindset regarding identities... yeah, that one still... requires a lot of work. Also that very last sentence in the reply you linked also is a big yikes in my book.
Also, cunthulhu is a freking phenomenal name! Amazing, haha

i don't have the links cos i never bother to keep evidence but he's expressed outright misogyny and homophobia before in years past. this rhetoric of "oh i have lgbt friends!!!" is pretty new, which is why i was inclined to think the worst of his approach tbh. but thank you for explaining the language barrier there, that helps contextualize it for me, much appreciated.

Ah i have homophobia... good that you inform me (and my LBGT+ friends) about that.
A very easy proof that i am not is that gays and lesbs [i use the short form, it have nothing negative for me or any one i meet in reallife or have nearer online contact] are on my discord.
I will not answer on the rest, wasted time when someone come up with such bullshit.

I don't even know if there's a word for Queer in French but seeing as my Queer coworkers use "Queer" and some of them have very little English, I assume there's not lol. That's pretty much how I color my vocabulary.
Ask me a cooking word though... ;)

I had no idea that there were all of these flags! i only knew of poc, trans, and rainbow flags.
When you say "Polysexual" is this equivalent to Polyamorous or Pansexual?
This is very cool, thanks for putting in the work!
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks!
Polysexuality is actually new to me too. I hadnβt heard of it until I went to look up all the flags.
Based on what I read, it sounds like itβs attraction to multiple genders, but not all. This makes it different from pansexuality (which is attraction to people regardless of gender) and polyamory (which is having multiple partners). That said, Iβm far from an expert on the identity since itβs new to me as well, so if anyone who identifies as polysexual or is more familiar with the label wants to shed some light on it, please do!

I actually thought it was someone answering a ridiculous post with an obviously ridiculous post but then I saw it was that guy. Wow.
People believing they are being hateful because their God means them to be. Imagine the hubris.
Let's not list the things that are considered antiquated in thousand-year old texts. Every year, every Pride thread I follow ends up looking like Bible Study. Not this one.

When it comes to Judaism or Islam, I can understand you. But not about Christianity. Christianity is the religion that most serves LGBT people in the world, helping them, supporting them, etc. Source: my own eyes and experiences. But there is something bad for LGBTs in Christianity, the practice of homosexuality is not compatible. In other words, gays can be gay, but they can't practice sexually. In what they call the New Testament, you can find texts about it.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
"All those other religions are problematic, but not MY religion. No, sir!"
"We love gay people, but you're not allowed to act gay in any way whatsoever."
"Source: I thought about this independently and have confirmed it as fact."

So we're just gonna sweep The Crusades under the rug, then?
Religion has no logical place in dictating societal customs and acceptance. This has been proven time and time again, via a myriad of examples. Clinging to antiquated texts under the guise of idealism is a ridiculous way to manage anything.

The crusades were designed to stop the advance of Muslims, and the enslavement of Christians by them and other religions considered to be pagan. Concomitantly, the monarchs of the time instrumentalized him for their own ambitions. From this came effects that had nothing to do with doctrine. This is not to say that the Catholic Church was holy, but it would be tedious to get into other converging topics for discussion.

Which is still the state of Christianity to this day.
but it would be tedious to get into other converging topics
Bro, that is literally all you have been doing since your first comment in this thread.

"Which is still the state of Christianity to this day.", can't think of examples at the moment, cite them please. I'm not kidding.
"Bro, that is literally all you have been doing since your first comment in this thread.", let's see, I've mentioned rainbow symbolism, Abrahamic religions (considering I haven't talked about anything) and answered other posts. Bro, you don't understand what you read, or you don't organize the data in your mind.

Yes, you've side-stepped, shifted goalposts, and argued tangents in a desperate attempt to sound logical.
Pride of what exactly? Pride to have appropriated the rainbow flag?
Lol, you're fucking angry about rainbows. Get a grip.

"Yes, you've side-stepped, shifted goalposts, and argued tangents in a desperate attempt to sound logical.", friend, you are daydreaming.
I just asked a sarcastic question xD. Wait, did you imagine an impersonation of your own mind asking the same question and you think that's the reality? Friend, I'll tell you a secret, I don't know anyone who gets angry knowing that there's a man who fornicates through the anus.

GUYS I'M JOKING. IT'S JUST A JOKE.

Maybe I learned wrong. There are words that have the meaning they have because of Latin languages or ancient Greek. I can speak Portuguese (BR), German, and a little bit of English, besides I can read in Latin and, very badly, in ancient Greek. In all of them, sarcasm and joke are different things.

The muslims lived peaceful in Jerusalem with other religions (christians too).
The crusades were only to conquer land, pillage ressources, kill "enemies" (and they were enemies because they don't wanted to get their land stolen) and to reduce the ammount of people in the christian europe states (lesser people = lesser problems with the food, plagues, crimes and so on...).
The 3rd son of earl XYZ gone to the crusades because he had never get the family land, the house and so on and would always only be below the older brothers.
And the poor people done the same because they got free food and a lot of promises what they get when they help to defeat the evil enemies. They were more or less cannonfodder.
So greed and hate was more or less the motivation.
Comment has been collapsed.
You speak of a small part of history. Looting, killing and all these things did exist, but they occurred when the command of the crusades was decentralized from the Catholic Church, and passed on to the monarchs. At this point, it was no longer the "Templars" or Crusaders properly, but ordinary knights and warriors whose obedience was not rendered to the Church, but to the royal courts, or whatever.
"Peacefully" is the way of saying it, right? xD
The "Kingdom of Jerusalem" is one thing. The rest of Europe, both Western and Eastern, North Africa, parts of the Middle East, there was slavery and Christian trade.

That was the propaganda, yes. Have you actually studied the Crusades?
Actually, nevermind. This isn't the place to try and correct any misinformation you may have been given.

Well, there's at least one mod on this site who would agree with you. It's a shame that he's not present in this thread, that would be curious.

Friend, I can only conclude that you cannot read well, or that you have a cognitive problem. The fact I am referring to is about the rainbow symbolism with the Abrahamic religions. Whether the stories contained in your texts are true or false doesn't matter to me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not a thousand years. Christian texts have more than two thousand. Texts used only by Jews and Muslims cannot be accurately dated because they are too old. In the light of the Abrahamic religions, and by any symbolist or scholar, rainbow SYMBOLISM has been hijacked and subverted.
Comment has been collapsed.
My point was that rainbows have existed for hundreds of millions if not billions of years (ever since this planet developed rain), so no particular group of people can claim any rights over their use as symbols. Even if they could, how do you know the Abrahamic religions didn't "hijack" the symbolism from earlier cultures?
Comment has been collapsed.
You may be right. However, considering the ancient religions and peoples I studied, I don't remember any that applied the same significant nature to the rainbow. Maybe in Greek culture there is something related to the deities, I don't remember for sure. In any case, there is not a single indication, however small, that they have "stolen" from other cultures.
Friend, no matter what your point. You are talking about the rainbow itself. I'm talking about the symbolism of this, do you understand? It's different things to the amazement of the audience uhhh
Comment has been collapsed.
OK, I'll try one more time.
You appear to be claiming that the LGBT+ movement appropriated the rainbow flag from the Abrahamic religions because the Abrahamic religions were using it first. But I was trying to point out that since the rainbow is a natural phenomenon, no one group of people can claim exclusive use of it as a symbol, therefore it cannot be appropriated.
Also:
there is not a single indication, however small, that they have "stolen" from other cultures.
Are you referring specifically to rainbow symbolism, or do you mean that these religions haven't stolen anything from other cultures?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm in a way curious where this rabbit hole leads lol.
I see the point, but shouldn't context matter? Like how the fish, or sheep is used to symbolize Jesus in religious texts and literature, but outside of that context they lose their additional meaning? With the rainbow, nobody took away the meaning of it being a sign of treaty between humankind and god, because a drawn or painted rainbow has nothing to do with the actual phenomena. And please correct me/tell me if I know it wrong, but afaik the rainbow appeared after the Flood, and I can't recall another mentions of it anywhere is the Bible, not has seen it on any religious paintings that weren't depicting Noah.
Also the rainbow's meaning was depicted as it follows:
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
It is about god not destroying humankind or any animals with flood again. It this meaning really subverted, are LGBT rainbows breaking the pact, or forcing god to break it? (Mind you, the actual fish and sheep iconography depicting the son of god are okay)
And one more question, because I"m genuinely curious.
Rainbows are bad, because the bible used it for something, and now people, whom some christians do not like, are using it to something else. (Also, it's a natural phenomena..)
But what about the apple, the icon of the original sin, that caused humankind to lose the garden of eden, know sickness - that apple being used as one of the leader technological and fashion brands, hijacking and changing the original meaning? That one sounds a lot more arbitrary than the rainbow, that is used as a sign for LGBT because it's the most colorful natural stuff, and the colour palette includes all the colours. (Also just an extra-extra, that Apple started with rainbow-striped apple logo. Can we expect an anti-Apple religious riot, or condemnation?)
Comment has been collapsed.
Within the religious prism, the meaning would not be lost, because if the omnipotent god instituted it nothing could subvert it, right? However, in the eyes of the believer/people, earthly meaning can occur. So much so that the texts themselves provide an example of events of a similar nature.
I've seen discussions in Jewish communities about this apple and participated in discussions in Christian forums (at a time when I was anti-Christian). In short, they don't care about the symbolism of the apple, as it represents the fall of the human being from the Garden of Eden and, consequently, it's not a, uh, good thing.

I only tend to use it on repeat offenders. I have always been, and hope I will always be, willing to engage in intelligent discussion or even debate about anything with people who have different opinions but I draw the line at trolling and harassment.
Bullies who are just spewing hatred in threads they have obviously no interest in, or try to spread discord or start fight with obvious threads (as in "why BLM? All lives matter!" kind of threads), don't deserve my time or my anger.
I know most of them have led a very sad life and I pity them but letting them spit on my cake won't change that so it's better if I let them exist in the invisible realm.
