Do you have many friends on Steam?
I have 224 friends apparently, not sure how. I don't talk to most of them. I know a few irl and we speak other ways, rarely on Steam. And quite a few are business contacts or things related to Steam group works.
Honestly, I'm on Steam to play games, not make friends. I'm not against talking to people but it's not my goal.

"Not sure how" is probably my favourite part :D
I share your opinion, though^^

I have exactly 100, and I try to keep that as the max number. About 25 of those are alt accounts of people I know, ~15 I know in real life, other people I meet in different places around the internet. With someone of them I basically never talk or haven't talked to in a while, with some of them I talk on daily bases, some of them I know for longer that I have my Steam account.

i don't have much friends in steam, i try to not get people i don't know or don't play with. i have 12 friends in steam, i know 5 of them in real life, i know some of the others for years, and when i communicate with them its either on skype or phone or real life. Sometimes i get a friend request from someone, i just add them in case they want to talk about somethnig, but they generally never asked anything so after a few weeks i delete them if there is no sign of contact.
Truth be told some of the "random" people i met on internet were, and are, better friends than many people i met in real life.

I'm very familiar with the last part especially...^^

28 on my list, only one of them I know irl(a childhood friend who i recently regained contact with). Nearly all of them are from one group that I took a liking too, unfortunately due to timezones I never got to participate in any of the game sessions and it's become pretty quiet since, but I do sometimes talk with a few of them, they're a friendly bunch.
Ninja Edit: I also have 1 friend from here on sg too, a very kind person imo.

I was just waiting for the obligatory Steamgifts-friend! :D

15 out of 39 I know in real life and the others are are all from here other than one from an achievement hunting group. I'd like to have more for general gaming, co-op, and achievement hunting but I'm not very chatty online and don't use any chat rooms so never actually meet anyone. Doh!

That's a really good ratio in my opinion :) I'm sure if you want you can find lots of people for co-op gaming and stuff here ;)

34 friends, 10 that I know personally and the rest from games where we played together. :)

Ah, you've had some time to accumulate people. I see^^

Well you've also been 4 years on steam thats a long time too! I see we even got a friend in common Sazz, but I only know him from trading a couple of days ago ;) I tried to delete everyone I don't really talk to but it's really hard, some people have been on my friend list for years! I can't just delete them. I had to delete a couple of people a few days ago that havent been online for over 100+ days. Atm I got 397/405 friends, I think I'll have to make some new badges soon.

You're right, it's been 4 years already...^^
I would love to say "I know what you mean", but I'm not even close to numbers and space problems like that... :D

Most of the 513 are just trade buddies or some random people who added me for some plays, but I guess I have about 10 real friends on my list.

I was in awe of the number, then I read "trade" and thought that this must be a very common thing among traders, having that many people on their lists...^^

Maybe you'll find more communicative ones here? :D

I think you might be in a good place here, then! :)

If I would, I only want you as my one and only friend :D

91 friends, very few are real friends, some are from clans in other games many are just randoms from SG groups. I talk to no one through steam. But that's because I really hate steams chat interface. I don't talk to many outside steam either though.. :D

I'm completely with you on the chat interface statement!^^

I got 828 and I talk with kinda about 20 on pm's everyday. I got about 10 people on my friendslist that I know from real life. I also hang out in 8 steam group chats but I guess some of those I talk with there would be beside the point since not all of those are on my friendslist... Same with all the discords im on.
I often get complains from people about how many people that are on my friendslist and people making statements like "There is no way that you talk with everybody on your friendslist everyday".
I have simply been part of alot different stuff like gaming communities, alot of different groupchats and so on. Since I still am at it I get friendrequests ever so often from people(Not counting scammers and traders). There have ofcourse been times when Ive left a community and dont talk anymore to some people. But since I have had good chats at some points with these people then I dont really see a reason to remove them. I do however send like "Merry christmas" comments on their profiles and such.
I know many still would not consider such people "friends" worthy of their friendslist. But I dont take my steam friendslist that personal.

That really is a lot. But who's to say whether it's good or bad? As long as you're happy with your list, that's all that matters! :)

I have 257 friends according to steam but they're mostly from different games I have played over the years and people from trading (to make it easier) I talk to some every now and then but in reality there's really only one I very frequently talk to. All online friends.

from my 13 steam friends, 11 are my real life friends, and 2 are traders that were really nice. I do not see a point of having 100+ friends one does not know or talk with... also, I do not like spam on activity page (which is set as my default window).

41 so far around 10-15 are people i know in real life rest are people i meet in games over time and we stay in touch its always nice to meet new people but i dont like to have 1000 friends that i dont communicate with no need to communicate everyday but occasionally :)

This is really just out of pure curiosity:
Do you have many friends on Steam? Do you interact with them regularly? Are they personal friends in real life or acquired from all over the internet?
Just want to get a broad picture here :)
(Also felt like creating a poll, to be honest. Just because. Random as random can be^^)
EDIT:
Curiosity strikes again. Just want to know how many people actually still read this here, so... have a giveaway! :D
