The average thing is weird, it says I'm lower than the average user but I have like 226 hours in 2 weeks on my profile. It might be because of my game count. Please take a look at my profile and determine yourself, if you can! Thanks!

The 226 hours in 2 weeks mean nothing if you only spend them playing the same 10 or even 20 games. It's not about the hours, it's about the actual variation of games that you play. You currently own 4,836 games according to your Steam profile and according to steamdb you haven't played 3,216 of them which is why you're below average. Maybe you should start playing them instead of just hoarding them. =)

I see. So playing 1,500 games isn't good enough to be considered. It's a shame since those who play 100 games, and own 200 in their library are more likely to be considered. Sure 226 hours in 2 weeks means nothing if I played 10 - 20 games; but I played 73 in that time span. The point I was trying to make is; because my library count is larger, I'm required to play or farm more of the games that I own than others. EDIT: Well I am playing them. It's just hard for me to keep up with my library. If it's not about the hours, can't I just start each game for like a second to make them seem "played"?.

You could try and see if it works like that. I'd be interested to know how fast your stat goes up!
On the brighter side your account value is huge! Have you joined the other group yet? :D

I submit an application there. Trying to join as many groups as I can. I tend to giveaway lots every now and then, and I've decided to get new games/games I don't own, it'd be easier to join groups.
I'll give it a go and see if it actually impacts anything.

welp. That was explained very well while I was gone... Yeah, starting a game for a second should mark them as "played"
either way I presume you may have more total hours played then many people here :D
while you work on launching every game you own for a second I have a crazy idea...
Your name. Reminds me of something. Why do you spell it with two "o"? Aren't dragons supposed to be spelled with one "o"?
If by any chance the reason is what I think it is I might make a little exception for you

Yeah I'll be launching them all, as much as I can.
Haha, I doubt that it'll be the same reason, though I have it as "Dragoons" for a couple of reasons; The reason most people associate it with is the game "The Legend of Dragoon" which I enjoyed a lot years ago, the other reason is that I really enjoyed Beyblade as a kid, and the main bitbeast was "Dragoon". I don't really remember what prompted me to put the "S" at the end though.

DAMMIT YOU NAILED IT!
Legend of Dragoon. this game was awesome. Although I've only played the demo xD
I remember accidentally finding it on some demo disc for PSX and I fell in love for the first launch. I was trying to get the full version of that thing for ages but apparently noone in Poland heard about that game so eventually I gave up... Never played the full version...

I am curious as to what exactly you think having played more of your steam library than the average user shows someone. I have barely played more of my library than the average steam user yet I have purchased every single title in my library minus a single title that I won in a GA on this site. So getting back full circle... you think that having played a higher percentage of my library compared to the average user shows that I am an active gamer? Would the 171 hours of rimworld over the last 2 weeks not show that I am an active gamer? Maybe you can explain the thought process on this one because I certainly don't understand.

TBH there was no thought process. I've said it before, I've pointed it out in the opening post, but just because I like you I'll explain it once again, just for you:
Someone made this thread I've stumbled upon it and after brief investigation I though to myself: "well, that's okay, but I'd rather see one focused more on gaming rather then money" but I gave that thought up and proceeded with whatever was available (aka the money group). When suddenly this comment appeared and my initial idea came back to me "apparently there's interest in that thing. Someone really should do that. NO! I SHOULD DO THAT!!!" (yes, I do think i caps lock from time to time :P) And I did that. And so here we are.
TBH the longer I deal with it the more flaws I'm strating to see here... Anyway, that's what it is and for the time beeing it won't change now. But it will change in the future. Hopefully as soon as I'd be able to find a reasonable, legit system...

Well, it is certainly nice to be liked :D Your conclusion about a group based on utilization instead of value is (imho) a much better statistic to base a group on! Of course I wonder how the calculation for utilization is generated... if I took the next 10 minutes and opened up all of the games on my steam library that I have never even opened but are installed for that rainy day - would my utilization go up? I suppose that is the problem with everything in this life - anyone with the know how and the will to cheat the system can cheat the system! Good luck with the group though... and despite the phrasing of my question above - I do agree with the concept of this group!

Hello fine people of SteamGifts!
In spite of
recentcertain events and comments following those events note: said comments and event used to be linked, but links were removed since they are not relevant anymore. This bit is left only for context/opening purposes. I'm making a new steam group for all of you folks! The group focuses on active gaming, friendly community and most importantly cool giveaways (we're on SG after all)
Right now recruitment is temporarily open
HOW TO JOIN:
Since the days of open recruitment are long gone the following rules remain only as a guideline and/or memento of what used to be required. Fullfilling those will not guarantee an invite. From now on we'd like to know why should we invite you, how the group will benefit from your presence within it etc. Popping a lonely screenshot will no longer suffice Invites will be sent at admin's discretion.
Hope you'll have a good time.
SEE YOU IN THE GROUP!!!
