I did meet some people who are playing MMOs, but the past couple of years I never met anyone, playing them. Is this genre still relevant? If you are playing them, which ones do you like the most?

The latest MMO I've played is Albion Online, it was really fun. I played the last beta, i'm skipping this beta but I'll play again on the official release.
I hope to play Star Citizen when it comes out, but I'll probably have a full time job to take up my time by then.

I've recently been sinking time into DFO, and its pretty fun, but you'll want friends so you don't go insane during the grind

"Are you guys playing any MMOs" and "Are MMOs still relevant?" are two completely different questions.

Also citing that you don't know anyone playing MMOs is sample bias. If you were playing an MMO, odds are you'd know plenty of MMO players.

I've never really been into MMOs. Too time consuming and probably grindy too. I also have an aversion to paying a subscription fee for any game.

Waiting for WoW legion (8 more days) and Black Desert Online when i get bored of WoW. MMO's are important for me , as i get bored easily and i get impressed hard. I mean LoL , i hate it because repetitive as fuck (same map) , don't like this. I need something huge and beautiful graphics , like WoW , or Black Desert , to keep me busy. If i get bored of PvE , i jump into PvP , if i get bored of PvP i get into exploring , lore , achievements , etc etc. Also single player games , keeps me maybe 1-2 weeks (witcher 3) others even less. So after i finish a single player game i get back into the MMO. So yea , without mmo's probably il get bored as fuck.

Hey there,

If you look for an MMO with tons of content which often come in a single player game
You should give a try to SWTOR. Cinematic/fully voices/choices and consequences and exelent story often better than single RPG.
I'm a Single player but this MMO really stun me ! not be able to refrain my ''playtime'' ---> have to quit (ಥ﹏ಥ)

sounds interesting. but does it still have that typical grindy MMO-gameplay?

ah well, don't have time for it anyway. Earth Defense Force and Deus Ex will use up most of my gaming time in the next weeks. ^^

Used to play Guild Wars for years, but GW2 didn't sit well with me for some reason. Also played a bit of Rift and Firefall before both went free. Not sure if they are any good now.

Tried WoW and it was fun until lvl 60 or so, until you had to go through the gate and into the first expansion, and that's when I realized there's no end and quit.

tl,dr; no, not playing any mmo in years.

Dont bother with Firefall - pretty much everybody who enjoyed it is waiting for The9 to pull the plug after the failure of v1.6

After 8 or so years of Ultima Online I swore off the MMO genre for good.
I mean, I did have a lot of fun, met some people including my present best friend, but being glued for up to 12 hours a day to one game for 8 years had a lot of negative impacts on my life too.

I go through a cycle with MMOs where I play, learn, get good at them join a guild, and then it turns into a part-time job because I always become an officer in the guild, etc. I look for the signs of that happening now and actively avoid guilding up so soloable MMOs work best for me.

I was playing GW2 for quite a bit (one of each class - all at max level and 100% World completion), but then Heart of Thorns came out and I started grinding out the Mastery points, completed old world and started on HoT points and realized I wasn't having any fun and mothballed it.

I think I like the progression aspect of MMOs most. I even liked it in The Division until I hit the level cap and it became a gear grindfest in the Dark Zone.

Right now I'm not playing any MMOs - but I'm am oddly drawn to them....
