Do you like DRM-free?
This is kinda cool but I'm 99% sure it will break when I try to use it :P.

Well, they promised it with the announcement of Galaxy. I'm happy they actually got around and did it, hopefully the achievement integration will come soon as well.
It's nice to see GOG is still trying to be for the customers and not just looking at them as money cows… Hopefully, at least some of this mentality can stay, along with GOG itself.

Sometimes it is a question of whether the PR value outweighs the sales or not. If you bought it once, you are least likely to buy it again for yourself, and GOG is a liability with its installer format. In reality, any of them could offer you to have a game on both platforms, and it could also mean Origin and UPlay. I doubt EA and UbiSoft will jump ship, and many other publishers who rely on Steamworks for copy protection, but if it won't die in weeks, in theory, all indies and smaller publishers could offer this, as the loss of potential revenue would be next to nothing—some of them already have similar deals with Humble Bundle anyway.

Well, Galaxy simplified the things just like Steam so there is that. On the other hand it really matters to the person since I know almost all of my friends find no difference between DRM and DRM-free as long as they can play the games and if they dont have a backup copy they will just pirate it.
Steamworks protection do almost nothing to protect the games as proven times and times again. On the other hand Steamworks as tool for MP is used a lot and the VAC anti-cheat system is also useful so there is that.
Big publishers love their DRM and close to always-online requirment so I doubt we gonna see them but small devs usually have nothing to lose if they decide to wait a week or 2 after release on both platforms and allow the transfer. Still, will have to wait and see how this will play out.

Same here. Just created a ticket.
Edit: Now it worked (after 15 tries) and I got 16 games.

3. How long will these games be eligible?
Duration will vary from game to game – the time left to redeem each game is shown on its respective product icon above.
All show 5 days ... so after 5 days connecting your steam account to the gog one won't get you those anymore ... weird?

You can only redeem during a certain window. Thats just the nature of deals, odds are some developers will leave it up longer while others only agree to a limited window.
Its all about how they deal with PR and so on.

It's not detecting my games at the moment. I have them in my Steam library but it says it doesn't detect it. Looks like I'll have to wait for them to fix it. This looks really nice, though. Too bad I've always bought games from both Steam and GOG, so many of these I already have both places. :)

GOG forum topic
GOG did it again. Though it seems we have to thanks the publisher for willing to let users enjoy their DRMed games now and on the DRM-free platform(unless you already own it on GOG).
For people lazy to check the gog forum topic here is GOG connect
Full list of games available
While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!
It may take some time for GOG to detect your steam library so once you connect give it 10-15mins before checking for eligible games.
Here is the FAQ : seems half of the FAQ is important so you may just go check it yourself.
3. How long will these games be eligible?
Duration will vary from game to game – the time left to redeem each game is shown on its respective product icon above.
4. Are there any differences between the GOG.com and Steam versions of my product?
Importing your game will get you the complete GOG.com release – just as if you had bought it normally. The specifics may vary from game to game, but you can always check what's included on the game's product page.
FYI GOG versions often come with extras though lately the newly released games often come with less or none extras(OST,artwork, avatars, etc.)
6. Can I disconnect or change my connected Steam account?
You can only connect one Steam library per GOG.com account. This process is permanent.
12. Can I play the GOG versions of the games with my Steam friends(for mutiplayer ones)?
This depends entirely on the game – not all games support multiplayer gameplay between Steam and GOG.com.
13. What if I already own a game on both GOG.com and Steam?Do I get an extra key?
Unfortunately not – you will not receive an extra copy of a game you already own on GOG.com.
15. If I no longer have the game in Steam library, do I still keep it on GOG.com?
If a game is removed from your Steam account for any reason, such as through manual deletion or a refund – we reserve the right to remove the games from your GOG.com library.
