Warcraft

I haven't been into Warcraft in a long time. 1 & 2 were amazing games, and 3 was okay. But they ruined the franchise (in my opionon) by going the mmo route. I want a new real Warcraft game!

I'm not expecting much, because hollywood tend to ruin everything good, Like good books and good anime :P

But my Gf and me really liked to watch the movie ;)

Saw it last night, it's kinda shit.

The CGI is top notch but the pacing of the movie is terrible. The Marvel type jokes they tried just don't fit the film, the main character is supposed to be this great warrior and an honorable men but the type of jokes he's in just don't fit his persona and also they are bad, it's good that there aren't many of them tho.

I don't know much about Warcraft lore but the film made me intrested in it, am sure you'll like seeing familiar settings from the games.

buuut i have met online someone living not that far away with whom i will watch it in two weeks when we both have time for it xD

I'm curious about it, but my social anxiety tends to keep me away from cinemas, plus it's more comfortable watching at home anyway. so I'll wait for the blueray rips release

My wife and I saw the movie about ten days ago. She's actively playing WoW and I'm basically on a hiatus from playing it, but I also played all the Warcraft-RTS and thus probably know more about lore than her. I liked it (7.5/10ish), although their were some things that many people might consider to be obvious flaws (the movie is somewhat stylised, i.e. it does not necessarily look realistic, especially regarding props; there are also some changes regarding lore). My wife thought the film was okay, she would not pay to see it in cinema again, but certainly on DVD once it's released. She was a bit dissapointed because of the lore changes and said she did not recognise many characters apart from the leading roles, but I certainly did see quite a few in the background. Overall I think the movie is fine for people who realise that it does not adhere 100% to the canon and that it has a certain visual style. Since you won the tickets anyway I'd certainly give it a go.

I was about to buy tickets to a cinema today. Welp, they were sold out.

Sell those tickets if you can. The story is trash, the acting is atrocious and its full of seriously dumb moments. The only good thing about it is animation, but it aint that good to carry the whole movie.

as an ex player i still want to see it. i have been told its pretty good but the human actors could be better.... but who knows :) will find out someday.. if someone wants to join me to the theater :P

And it's done. I liked it, not sure why so many people dislike it, but then again, I'm not a lore elitist anyway, and never really knew the difference between good and bad actors, unless they're very good, or terrible.

Sadly, the critics hated it....

I'm quite looking forward to it, directed by Duncan Jones... So I wonder how did he handle it, because his past movies were great (especially Moon). Also, CGI nerdgasm.

Otherwise, I'm not the biggest Warcraft fan, but I liked the books I have read and also loved Warcraft 3.
