I'd have to know your reasons for stopping to give proper feedback on it, but I can say that the first chapter is a bit slow. I liked the pacing for setting up the atmosphere/story, but I can understand someone getting impatient if it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, especially if someone's unfamiliar with the genre. (Not saying you are, just talking hypothetically.)
